Great Lunch Spot with Fresh Sushi!Stopped by Maizuru Sushi Bar for lunch and had the Salmon Bento Box--everything was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful. A solid choice if you're looking for a satisfying meal!Service was standard--nothing over the top, but also nothing to complain about. The only small downside was having to ask for extra sauces for the sushi, but that might just be personal preference.Overall, a great spot for Japanese food, and I'd definitely come back to explore some of their signature dishes. Looking forward to my next visit!

First time here and the service was excellent and the food was delicious! They have a nice menu assortment. The shishito peppers were the largest and tastiest I've ever had. I would say this is one of the better sushi places in Irvine for sure! Definitely will be coming back here.

The service here is phenomenal!! Very attentive staff that care about their customers!The decorations are a mix of japanese and modern and they have a semi private area for a group of 6 or moreLunch Special Review:Had their tonkotsu ramen and it was good! No pork meat though. My wife had the beef bento box special and it's was superb and recommended for those that can't decide and want to try a little bit of everything.No wait time for us on Sunday at 2pm.Highly recommend a stop!

We really like Maizuru! It's a nice middle-of-the-road sushi place. Not super fancy, but still higher quality than "fast food" sushi. I especially like a couple of their baked rolls - baked langostino roll and baked scallops roll. They also have good lunch/dinner combos (bento-box style). It's not the best sushi or the cheapest lunch spot, which is why I give it 4 rather than 5 stars, but we keep coming back so we definitely like it.

Finally got to try out their Sushi Wednesday promo!As always service was quick and welcoming. For sushi Wednesday, you get 20% off all the cut rolls and wine. For 3 rolls and 2 glasses of wine, we paid ~$62 before tip. The food was tasty but I prefer the bento boxes here! The rolls are so big that it is hard to eat in one bite, you'll have to bite your way through or attempt to eat it in one bite as it falls apart. Value wise, you do get way more food which is nice if you're going after quantity. However the experience of each piece falling apart or being too big to eat wasn't my favorite. Ended up eating each ingredient little by little. Would still come back but will opt for my usual bento box order or rolls with less ingredients.

Came here on a Thursday night and our party of two was seated immediately!I tried the Crunch Dragon Roll and I was worried that wasn't going to be enough food, especially for about $20 but the sushi was large! The fish tasted great. My only gripe was that the seaweed was very tough making it hard to chew. The servers were really attentive and kind, making sure to come around enough times. It's worth noting that they have discounts on Wednesdays so if you're thinking of coming on a weekday, come then! Would definitely return!

Tried this location for the first time and my experience wasn't that great. I found a hair in my to go roll and it grossed me out. First and last time ordering here

Super underwhelming. The food here is so overpriced and terrible. Just terrible. The staff were incredibly rude as well. I ordered the poke bowl, and it came... without any fish! When I pointed it out, they argued that it was at the bottom of the bowl. I was sure there was none, and when they checked, they couldn't find it either! (Side note: they did eventually give me the fish) My friend ordered a combination bento, and the orange had MOLD on it! I couldn't believe it! Overall, I would say save your money and go elsewhere. Zero stars if I could!

Omg so fresh and great portion size. Prices are amazingly low and the quality high. What a great find. We used to like Taiko in the early days pre COVID but as most people know, that's not what it used to be. We finally, after so many years are grateful to have found our forever sushi bar. We love sitting with James at the bar. He takes great care of us and he's very nice. This should be 5 Stars on Yelp. Great!!!

Disappointing Experience for Our Large GroupOur group of 15 goes out every Wednesday for sushi night, typically spending around $700 to $800. This week, our usual spot had a long wait, so we decided to try this new place. We called ahead to check the wait time and were told we could be seated in five minutes. True to their word, we were seated right away upon arrival, which we appreciated.However, the positives ended there. The service was just OK, and the food was subpar--not what we expected for the price we paid. But the most surprising part of the night was when we were informed around 8:15 PM that it was last call. By 8:30 PM, they began turning off the lights, signaling the end of service and essentially rushing us out. This was after we had already spent $815 on our meal. It felt like they were more interested in closing up than accommodating a group that had just spent a significant amount.It's a shame that they don't seem to value their customers, especially those who are willing to spend generously. If you're looking for a good dining experience with quality food and respectful service, I suggest looking elsewhere.
