Macu Tea

Solid boba spot in OC!! I've only visited their San Jose location in the past; this was my first time visiting the OC one. The quality of their drinks were pretty consistent though.I went with the Chi Chi Mango and it was great! The mango was sweet, and the cheese top was also soo good. It came with a green tea jelly and it was also delicious!It was pretty busy when we came, with 3-4 other parties ahead of us. They were pretty quick to make drinks, though there's minimal seating inside.

Steep Thoughts: Florence's Quest for (Her) Perfect Black Milk TeaBlack milk tea: 0.5/2. I got the Black Milk Tea, 50% ice, 30% sweet. I'm not sure what type of black tea they use, but to me the flavor is earthy and slightly grassy. It reminds me a little of grass jelly, which I don't personally like. The drink is also not as milky and creamy as I usually prefer. However, the sweetness level is appropriate.Other drinks: 1/1. Good variety of tea drinks and topping options. Most are made with non-dairy creamer, and fresh milk does cost extra. They have a 10% sweet option which isn't very common and is nice to see.Ambiance: 0.5/1. Some outdoor seating available, but no indoor seating or WiFi. The parking lot can get pretty crowded at peak times.Service: 1/1. Order at the counter. Drinks come out pretty quickly.Total: 3/5

This place is in Sand Canyon plaza. It replaced the Tiger Sugar that was here earlier. They serve tea.There was a large party in front of me that wanted samples, so I had to wait for them to consume the samples and comment on each one before I could order. I ordered something with fixed sweetness, but it wasn't that sweet, so that's a bonus. I expected them to also consume time receiving their order so I decided to do a quick errand elsewhere in the plaza. When I got back, as expected, the party in front of me was distributing their drinks to the proper party members and making social comments on them as they were holding them, congesting the pickup area and preventing me from seeing if my order was complete, as I didn't order as much as they did. Fortunately the staff member saw me and handed my drink to me over a barrier to avoid this congestion.I feel like there should be a secondary means of ordering, since this ended up taking longer than I expected it to. But nowhere as long as those places that expect one to wait 20 minutes, at least.

Had their Mango Smoothie once. The smoothie was good but the topping was very bad.Went back again to ask if can have a Mango Smoothie without topping they said nope not possible, can not make any adjustments. lol in a heavily competitive market for drinks they can't do something as simple as "Mango Smoothie BoBo with no BoBo"No wonder the place has no customers

It hasn't been long since my last review, but I decided to update because I'm giving Macu Tea five-stars.While I still don't like that they charge 10 cents for a bag to hold your drinks, the taste and quality of their drinks is phenomenal. They use real tea and real fruit. This is why it takes a little while to get your drinks. I'm spoiled now thanks to Macu Tea because I love the taste of real fresh fruit - grape, grapefruit, mango, strawberry. You can't go wrong with anything that piques your interest here. The tea is also freshly brewed! I have found myself visiting this place quite, so I believe that they deserve five-stars instead of the four I originally gave them.Service is always friendly and the place is clean.

Date of visit: 1/18/20255 stars for the Ruby Grapefruit Lili drink! They put so much grapefruit pulps in the drink, they mean business! I'm impressed!

I've been here so many times I've lost count, and Macu has definitely become one of my top places to go for drinks in OC. Parking is pretty spacious in this plaza, but there can be a bit of a wait depending on the crowd. The quality of their drinks really stand out, as you can taste the real fruit in their drinks. Among the many items I've tried, these are some of my favorites in no particular order:- King of Mango (seasonal)- Golden Leaf Tea Latte w boba- Taro w fresh milk 2.0 (new)- Strawberry tiramisu- Sunshine li-li teaLove the variety in the menu and will continue to frequent this spot!

Not bad but nothing special either. We ordered the tieguanyin and king of mango smoothie which were a tad watered down and unfortunately the flavor of tea/mango weren't very prominent in either. Price-wise, it's not too bad for the tea but the smoothie felt a bit more expensive than it's worth. I would say their boba is very soft and good though. No complaints about service either.

Arrived on a late afternoon on a Saturday and luckily beat the line which formed shortly after. The customer service was great. A guy with long hair and glasses helped me and he was really nice. Limited bench seating and no restrooms. They have a lot of good looking drinks. We got an oolong milk tea and a mango smoothie which came with tea jelly, mango chunks, grapefruit chunks and coconut milk. Both drinks were super tasty! The mango drink is decadent and they call it a drink dessert. It was really good. I liked the oolong tea, it had good tea flavor and not too sweet (i got it 80% sweet which was recommended by the cashier). 80% was good for me, lightly sweet. I definitely would like to go back to try their other drinks. They seem quite popular even though its fairly new which goes to show the quality of drinks.

My five stars is only for the King of Mango drink!!! It's so fireeeee. The mango is so sweet but not in an artificial way, i definitely think they use fresh mangos (I hope), the combination with the coconut milk and grapefruit pulp is very pleasing to my taste buds. The texture of the tea jelly, the pulp and mango all together makes a great combo. But I would want it without jelly sometimes, I wanted to remove the tea jelly but they don't allow adjustments. Onlyyyy downside is that. They should think about allowing adjustments for the mango king. It would be appreciated if I could adjust my own drink since I'm paying $8. The guan yin milk tea is solid, nothing out of the ordinary.
