Mrs. and I had a cozy lunch here last week.We had never dined at this establishment before. As such, we did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with the flavor profile. The sandwich was delicious (A tad bit cheesy though). Onion Rings were filling. Shepherds pie was unique. I had never had this dish outside of a baked bowl. There was a hint of spice in the gravy. I liked it. Portions on the food were generous. This was unexpected too. Leftovers were good for another meal!!Service was slow. We waited quite a bit for the bartender to take our order. At the end, I had to go to him and ask for our check. In his defense, he was the only employee working and he did not have much help. Check this restaurant out for good value on your food!

I have to say we had a pretty decent party last Saturday and I've always in the past had good experience until last Saturday. We had a birthday party for a dear friend and my wife's sister informed the waiter that we had a birthday cake and we wanted to sing, happy birthday and celebrate our friend, well sad to say the waiter was horrible never came refresh the drinks basically never came back to do a happy birthday with no plates no candles nothing and he was informed that we wanted to do a happy birthday with the cake like I said I've had decent experiences in the past, but this was horrible, and I felt that the waiter took advantage by giving himself a huge tip, which was never even said that there would be a tip automatically put on the bill. I came all the way from Malibu to celebrate this and it was a shame the whole night the food all came up at different times, which I've been in the food industry and owned a catering business, and you bring all the food up at once, the orders were wrong. We ordered two steak dinners and only (1) steak dinner came to the, and that steak dinner that did come wasb supposed to be french fries end up being served with mashed potatoes. I mean I could go on and on and on. I feel that if this is the way this establishment is going it's a shame, especially when you're gonna drop a lot of money. This is not a cheap place and the experience was beyond horrible. In fact I probably won't even come back again because I expect when you're gonna pay top dollar you should have top dollar service and it was a joke because the manager that came out wanted to give us $100 gift card which the tip was $82 and that would've basically left the difference of the hundred dollar gift the manger wanted to give a d not take off the tip until we all.made a big ass stink, which was a joke so anyone going to this establishment think twice because the service has just gone way way down hill!!!! and for the money that they charge this place has become subparB V Malibu CA

Had a birthday party last Saturday evening a party of 10 had a very bad experience and usually have a great time there with large parties just spoke with the owner Doug and a $512 bill didn't even offer any type of compensation or relief for the bad experience to good guest who frequent there often so guess I won't ever be going there and unless you want really crappy service and no drink refills the server was forgetful, missed orders food was raw plus spent $$$$$$ in the cigar room rude server and didn't deserve 82 tip which I voided and gave him $40 .... Missed orders charged for something we didn't get and owner didn't even make good how sad to great customers there are two new steakhouses near the improv guess I'll spend my money there thanksWhat good is a 100 gift card for an 82 tip diff if ??? lol. What a joke and in this case I am right So

I've been meaning to write about this place for a while. After my recent visit for some food and drink... it was time. Macallans Public is an amazing pub, located in Downtown Brea. It's known for their variety of some amazing drinks. So many to choose from.Last night, I came here for food and drink, along with watching the Dodgers game. Here's what I ordered while watching the game.Drink:French Martini (Vodka, black raspberry, pineapple, lemon, and cane). Very refreshing drink to have after a stressful day at work. Concept of this drink is spot on. Tasty drink I'll order everytime. Food:Chicken Sandwich (topped with drummy) with fries. As soon it came to me... that's probably the biggest chicken sandwich I've ever seen, especially with that drummy on top. Even without a side, it's more than enough to eat. Tastes really good. Not too bad. Next time I order that, I'll make sure not to get side. It was alot for me.Service:The bartender and some other guys are great. And a added bonus, they're all Dodgers fan. That's what I'm talking about.I'll be back soon for more good stuff. This will be my hangout spot after work.5 stars!!!5 stars!!!!

I don't know who needs to hear this but if you do not know what a gem this place is to Brea, let alone Birch, please try it for yourself and tell me I am not lying!! The drinks (2 types of old fashions, Irish coffee, etc.), food (I HIGHLY recommend the grilled cheese (Texas toast with short rib), and service has been mellow and cool thus far! I can't believe I passed it up all this time, what a waste of taste, but I know now what deliciousness awaits inside. Do yourself a favor and try a palatable pleasure here if you are open to high quality Irish pub style food and drinks. The ambience and decor is perfect as well if that is one of your cares.

Another fun Wednesday night here. The band, food, service all too notch! It was my friends bday and they treated her to a candle lit brownie! This was my 2nd time here with my friends and it was a blast! Art Of Sax Band plays here every Wednesday from 7pm - 10pm. We ordered and shared their Brussel Sprouts, potato wedges, nachos, and onion rings. Everything was delicious! The band is great and there is room to dance in front of the band! This place is in the heart of downtown Brea and what I love about it also is that the parking structure is just around the corner. Free parking! Highly recommend this place to hangout with friends for some food and drinks. They also have a nice size bar area and patio area in the front of the restaurant as well. Owner comes out and greets all of his customers. Very nice man!

Thursday's my favorite day to come!! Happy Hour drinks and food, along with Magic with Michael O'Brien. Life can't get any better than that! I hope they never change this schedule and keep the magic alive. Michael performed up close magic and it was such a fun treat to watch. I enjoyed every second and my kids were immersed too. Michael kept it engaging and with drink's and appetizers flowing, we had so much fun. Can't wait to come back on Thursday!!

My boyfriend and I love to go here when we have a date night at the improv. We live in the inland empire so it's a little bit of a drive for us BUT SO WORTH IT!Such a cool little spot, great service, and there's a hidden speakeasy within. My go to order is the Shepard's pie and Irish mule, it's absolutely delicious. If you are a fan of whiskey, they have whiskey flights available with lots to choose from! We were there once for karaoke night and it did not disappoint! Definitely worth making a trip if you're in the area (or not!)

Casual Irish pub with some decent happy hour dishes and beer selection.Went to watch the U.S. / Canada hockey game with a few friends. Wasn't too busy, was served drinks very quickly. Started off with an old fashioned and then had their beer (I chose Guinness) + Irish whiskey deal. Also had some food - some tri-tip sliders and chips+salsa+guac. Pretty good, maybe a little pricey for it being pub food. The environment was like your normal Irish pub - but a little cleaner which is nice. Would come back!
