The food was great! I got the teriyaki beef plate for only $10 and it was very filling. The salad was edible. The employees were very friendly and service was good. There's none of that how-is-your-day nonsense chit chat -- it's all straight to the point. The ambiance.... Nothing says, "I just want to serve food!" like this place does. Zero attempt at decor, imagine hiring your unemployed brother-in-law who was an accountant to build an extension of your house....yes, it looks like that. I absolutely love it!It does get busy so don't expect to get a table all the time. Customers were mostly men....(thanks to the decor?) ranging from your basic construction thug to the skinny Jean man purse wearing hipster.

Lunch Bang is hidden in a non-descript strip mall in Santa Ana and a little hard to find. They offer Korean fare as well as smash burgers.Backyard burger (S - $5, D - $8) - A single patty is $5 while a double is $8. This consisted of 2 thin burger patties prepared on a griddle and served with American cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles and diced onions. It was a great tasting burger and reasonable priced.Smash burger (S - $6, D - $9) - similar to the backyard burger, this burger contained grilled onions instead of diced onions.Bulgogi bowl ($10) - This Korean inspired bowl came with thin slices of marinated beef pan fried and served over a bed of rice, topped with some siracha sauce. Its flavors were sweet and savory. While the price was reasonable, it wasn't enough for a meal.Overall I enjoyed the burgers here, though I wish they offered a triple or quadruple version as a double burger isn't enough to fill one up. They do offer sides like fries, kimchee, pickles and steamed egg. Seating is limited here.

I'm currently on the search to find the best smashburger in LA/OC & this place is the definition of a classic hole-in-the-wall experience! It's located in a random parking lot and is under a sign labeled "Sandwich & Oriental Food". It doesn't even seem like there's a restaurant behind the door, but the moment you open the door, you're greeted with the mouthwatering smell & sizzling sound of smashburgers.I got the double smashburger & fries which was extremely filling--I'd probably get the single smashburger next time given how heavy it was. While I can't say it was the best smashburger I've ever had, it was definitely the best one for the price (and the vibes). Where else can you get a solid smashburger for $6 these days? I'd love to come back to try their korean food options next time!------Smashburger ranking:Taste: 7.1/10Price: 8.7/10Vibe: 7.5/10

I saw the article in the OC Register and headed down immediately. It's off Grand Ave in a plain-looking strip mall under a sign that reads "Sandwich & Oriental Food."The interior is minimalist with concrete floors and hodgepodge of mid century tables, some with laminated chess boards, and a tv playing movies. The place smells incredibly good. I went hog-wild and had the Galbi plate ($20) and a single smash burger ($6) -- $28.41 after tax. Everything is made to order and the staffing is lean, so it's not the quickest service, but people were friendly and accommodating. The smash burger is amazing!!! Definitely an Oklahoma style with a bed of finely cut onions. It's the best smash burger I've eaten and easily worth the trip to Lunch Bang alone. The Galbi (Kalbi) plate was great too, with little sides of kimchi and spicy cucumbers. The meat was so tender with nice little fatty ends. It was quite the contrast to the smash burger, but delicious!I guess I'll see the reach of the OC Register if the line wraps around the block the next time I eat here. Thank you guys!!!

Quintessential hole in the wall find for some delicious smash burgers! 'Smash Burger': Got both the single and double, burger patty was juicy and seasoned well! Loved how much ribbons of grilled onions were on it and the thousand island like sauce. So simple, but so good and it really hit the spot! 'Fries': this is what In-N-Out fries wished they could be...these ones were perfectly salted, and if you're a slightly soggy fry lover like me, you'll love these! Price here is honestly great too! Thought it was an interesting mix how they also offered some Korean plate/bowl meals, but everything is reasonably priced. Also living up to their name, keep in mind they're only open Mon to Fri during lunch hours!

Lunch for 2 was just about $21; what a steal! The single patty was plenty for me. Will be back!

Tiny little place in a strip mall. 4 tables inside with a few seats. Mostly standing room only inside on a windy day. Waited over an hour for two orders of smash burgers and two fries. Was it good yes. Could the service had been a little friendlier yes. I drove over an hour to wait an hour would probably not do that again.

True mom and pop spot that's been around for a longggggg time. It's kinda busy right at lunch so I recommend coming before 11:30 or after 1:30 because this place is definitely banging at prime time lunch time. Solid galbi and rice plate and the double smash is fireeee. Also you gotta get the fries. Theyre up there on my list of good fries and I eat a lot of fries. I look forward to many more years of stuffing my face here.

DELICIOUS SMASH BURGER!! we went during a holiday weekend and boy was it packed. i think total wait time was 30-45 mins so i would rec placing your order and going out to grab a drink/dessert to pass the time. it seems like a small team of 4 with them making the burgers and meals right in front of you. i got the single smash burger with a side of fries and wow it was yummy. the bun was super moist and butter pairing wonderfully with the juicy but slightly crunchy patty. they have a special mayo sauce similar to in-n-out's spread that i love! be aware of their unique hours but would definitely come back!

This was the best smash burger I've had. Flavorful and the portions are perfect. Very nice service. Everything is made to order. I love that. It's a small spot you could miss it if you aren't looking for it. But once you find it, you'll never forget it. Can't wait to try more stuff.
