For me, Luisa & Son was where I discovered touron and after trying touron from several other Filipino bakeries, Luisa & Son still sets the bar as the best touron in So Cal.I've tried some of the baked goodals too as I am a fan of Ube but this place is synonymous with touron for me.I did see on this visit that they have Halo Halo which I would truly next time. Didn't have time to get a ice dessert en route to my lunch.Come for the tourons. You won't be disappointed! Check out my pics. (BTW, is it just me or does the L in the logo look like an S so it's Suisa & Sons?)

Want to get your fill of Filipino baked goodies? Head to Luisa & Son for yema cake, ensaymada, hopia, mamon and all the tasty Filipino delicacies you know from back home.I love the yema cake and ensaimada rolls! The ube hopia is just okay though..They also sell chocnut, Cheese Whiz cheese pimiento spread, lumpia, turon, baked siopao and all the goodies. Kind of reminds me of Valerio's bakery! Did I mention that they also sell Day old baked goodies for half the price? Make sure you go through that section because it's still good for 2 days upon purchase!

The first Luisa & Son started as a restaurant in Downtown Manila in the 60's. They closed in 1985 and made their U.S. debut in Norwalk in 1997. The Norwalk shop is still there in addition to three other locations in Cali. The family also brought back Luisa and Son to the Philippines in 2010. Even though I haven't been to this store, the lovely & sweet Sam B was gracious enough to bring myself & the darling Perez sisters a variety of goodies for us to try. My selections included an Ube Bar, Mango Polvoron, Pandan Polvoron, and a Buko Pandan Tart. The Polvoron is like a shortbread. I love shortbread and this had a good texture. It was buttery & crumbly when broken apart. They were both slightly sweet - combined with the texture & mouthfeel, these treats were irresistible. The Buko Pandan Tart had a buttery crust and a crunchy pandan filling. It also had nice flavor. The Ube Bar was moist, dense, and so yummy! I enjoyed them all and regret that I only took one of each. I guess I'll have to pay a visit to the bakery. I heard their Ube Ensaymadas are amazing! I also want to try the Cashew Caramel Bar.

Ayo!!! Stumbled upon this small Filipino Bakery and I was blown away with the quality of the baked goods. Everything i got was sooooo good and tasted Fresh. You can tell that the products were not sitting out because the bakery was busy. I need to come back and try more things. They have such a wide variety of desserts as well as some precooked meals that were in the fridge. I haven't been to a good Filipino bakery in awhile, most other bakeries are just mid to be honest. They literally had every single dessert that you would crave. Staff was soo nice, Large parking lot, cards excepted and no seating. Everything is to go. Come check this place out ASAP!

Tonight for San Lorenzo Ruiz's mass at Saint Mary Star of the Sea church puto kutsinta sweet rice cakes with freshly grated coconut from Luisa & Son was the feature for refreshments afterwards. It was really rewarding to eat a few. I would recommend you to have this dessert for your own events, every body loved them.

Luisa & Son offers a tasty variety of hopia and kikyam that really hit the spot! The hopia has a nice balance of flavor, and their kikyam is a great treat. The friendly cashier adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making the experience even better. You can also call ahead to place an order, which is super convenient if you're on the go. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving some delicious Filipino snacks!

We normally get King's Paradise cake for my wife's birthday but after the lousy service we received there last Friday, I just wasn't in a mood to support them. My daughter suggested the ube pie from Luisa so we decided to change it up this time. It turned out to be a delightful choice. It's like an egg custard pie but with the blend of ube and it works incredibly well. If you've never tried it, you might want to drop by and give it a shot. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

All tarts and desserts purchased tasted like cleaner, possibly transfer from worker's hands who wrapped desserts. Super unpleasant experience, especially since items were tasted in a group.

Ordered Lumpiang Shanghai in the morning for pick up in the afternoon, it was ready when we got there. My non-Filipino friends loved it!
