Lau Bo by Lao Beo

Got dinner here, ordered the pho hotpot and some sort of salad.They gave us the wrong salad but it was still good.The hotpot was a solid portion for two, meat was good and they gave us a lot of veggies which my body definitely needed. Totally over ordered, did not need to get the salad.Would come back.

Came by here because they had one of my cravings, the banh mi que (breadsticks). It was definitely fresh, but a bit pricey considering 4 breadsticks= $14 so about $3.50/breadstick. The fillings were simple, nothing spectacular and the sauce was okay as well. It reminded me of the sauce you dip Vietnamese grilled muc (grilled squid) in which is siracha and sugar. It filled the craving and inspired me to just make it at home because of the price point. We ordered to go and the lady that helped me husband was friendly, so plus for customer service. Husband noted the ambience is bar like (Quan nhau). Not really our vibe which is why we ordered to go.

I saw Vietnamese hot pot and immediately want to try it. It's very different flavors than the traditional Chinese/taiwanese hot pot, or Japanese shabu shabu. We ordered the combo one size hot pot which is pretty much DIY pho, at least in my opinion. It's a lot of food for 2 people, which includes veggies and cookies and raw meat. There was also testicles and hearts part of the combo, but don't worry you won't know what you're eating! We also ordered a side of short ribs to try , as well as a mini banh mi que pate (small pate baguette sticks). The mini banh mis were filled with pork sung, and you could choose between spicy or non-spicy. The baguette was hot and fresh when it came out !We didn't speak Vietnamese and is very new to ordering this, but the waiter was nice and patient, speaking little to no English to us. Cool place to try, especially during a cold winter night with some beers!

Pretty decent Vietnamese hot pot restaurant with good portions. I went here for a Friday lunch and they promoted a buy 3 get 1 free special for happy hour for some of the more common Vietnamese dishes, but we opted out to try their signature Lau Bo hot pot (classic hot pot) $38 for 2 people portion. I did find the portion to be good enough for 3 people actually, and we left pretty full with adding the banh mi que pate and fried shrimp rolls. The hot pot has a lot of variety from vegetables to noodles to all sorts of meats and tendons. I wished the hot pot did not taste straight up like pho, but more akin to the ones I had in Saigon where there is a heavier fish sauce base and lots of herbs, but I guess that may be a different kind or if they cater the flavors here for the more western audiences.Appetizers were solid. The banh mi que pate are mini baguettes filled with not only pate but also pork floss. Those are generous portions for appetizers. The shrimp rolls were good but it was quite interesting they straight up included the shrimp shells, which are kinda hard to consume in some cases. I understand if it is like soft shell crab, but it wasn't as soft as that.Service as expected is a bit more hands off. You will need to flag down a server to fulfill your requests and they do a good job doing so afterwards.

Food is good. The service is also quick. I would recommend the place. The decoration inside is also pretty. The owner needs to hire more people

We ordered the Lau Bo by Lao Beo which was the perfect size for two people. There was a good variety of meats and veggies for both of us. The broth was extremely flavorful and really made the dish for us. Overall, we had a great experience here and can't wait to come back.

I ordered their one size hotpot, which was generous enough for three people. The broth was incredibly rich. It had just the right balance of herbs and spices, making every spoonful warm and satisfying.Service was friendly and efficient. The price was very reasonable for the portion and quality, making it a great value for Vietnamese hotpot experience.
