This coffee shop is a hidden gem! The best part is the variety of drinks--they have unique flavors like Matcha Sea Salt, Strawberry Cicada Latte, Matcha Rose, Banana Cream, and Sea Salt Taro. Each one is high quality and well-balanced, never too sweet or artificial. Plus, they serve onigiri, which is a great bonus! We got the Banana Creme Latte and it compares to Okayama Banana Creme Matcha!! Lagu has a banana creme top while Okayama has banana in the matcha and a regular foam vanilla creme top (just a by the way!)The prices are reasonable for the quality, and while the shop itself is small (only two tables), it has a cozy, intimate feel. If you're looking for something beyond your usual coffee order, this place is definitely worth a visit!

came here b/c i saw on tiktok and yelp reviews that the banana matcha latte was highly recommended- banana cream matcha latte 3/5 - LOVED the banana creme, but expected a lot more from this drink based on the reviews. still enjoyable, but did not get any matcha flavor bc of the milk and banana creme flavor. it was more like a banana milk drink - onigiri 5/5 - got the salmon and pepper chashu! really enjoyed it as a snack, would come back to try the others. also the lightly picked veggies on the side were a nice touch

almost half of the onigiris were sold out when we got there but my cousin & i tried the spicy salmon and tuna mayo. you can mix & match or have 2 of the same in one for each set which is pretty cool. we weren't the biggest fans of the spicy salmon but the tuna mayo was delicious.we also got the banana matcha latte subbing with soy milk for an extra dollar. it was super good! the banana flavor definitely overpowered the matcha but it was delicious nonetheless. it kinda reminded me of a vietnamese che chuoi.i would definitely come back to try other drinks and food.

My friends and I visited this spot and absolutely loved it! We ordered the tuna and salmon onigiri set, which includes two pieces for $7.50 along with pickled vegetables. It was simple yet so filling! My friends also got the smoked salmon sando with capers, dill, and cream cheese, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I had never had smoked salmon before, but I really enjoyed it!The drinks were the highlight of our experience. The menu was so cute and straightforward. We tried the matcha latte, strawberry sakura latte, banana matcha, and vanilla iced latte. My friends and I especially loved both matcha drinks, and for me, the banana matcha was amazing! Everything was a 10/10, and the staff was so kind and welcoming!

The smallest, hidden cafe amongst a bunch of office buildings/suites. They offer lots of snacks and pastries too. I love their onigiri combo: comes with choice of two onigiris and a side of pickled veggies. sea salt taro: 8.8/10. My favorite taro drink EVER !!!! less sweet is perfect and the flavor is so delicious and addicting

OVERALL : I've been going to Lagu for years now and they never disappoint. The shop is super small with only about 2 tables, but always cozy and friendly. More of a takeout than dine in spot. They're essentially a Japanese deli and their menu is pretty simple with several types of onigiri, bread/sandos, and coffee/matcha. Pricing is not bad either at $7.50 for an onigiri set, although the breads for the same price can seem pretty pricey. However the bread is well worth the cost, especially the mentaiko one! I didn't get it this time, but def craving it for next time. PARKING :Located in a business plaza where local shops can rent out small shops to run their businesses (not busy) with a shared parking lot -- very low-key but the store is clearly labeled so you won't have an issue locating it!FOOD/DRINKS :Onigiri Set (can mix and match) - 2 Onigiri and pickled vegetables per set:- Salmon- Mentai Mayo+- Tuna Mayo- Pepper ChashuBanana Creme Matcha Latte - banana matcha latte, topped with banana white chocolate foam and Nilla cookie crumbles -- def a sweeter / milkier matcha drink bc of the banana flavor profile, but it was really pleasant for an afternoon treat! The banana went really well w the matcha and the nilla cookie crumbles added some texture to the drink

I was looking for something delicious yet filling for a quick lunch and found this spot on Yelp. It is located in one of the business plazas near John Wayne Airport so there is plenty of parking at the front. Lagu cafe is a quaint Japanese store that sells onigiri and drinks as well as some merchandise/japanese goods. I saw frozen meals (in coloration with popular Japanese restaurants such as Tsujita LA and Shin Sen Gumi) as well as goods straight from Japan (matcha powders, and yuzu/black sesame/red bean spreads). I decided to get a bento box which came with 2 onigiri, miso soup, edemame, and karaage chicken. All for $15! The onigiri was so good; the rice was perfectly seasoned and not mushy. And karaage chicken was made with chicken thighs and incredibly moist and flavorful. I'm a huge fan of the variety of onigiri flavors to choose from and that it's more than just salmon and mayo. I got the tanaka mentai which is pickled mustard greens- it reminds me of my childhood. The uma-kara spicy cod roe which paired so well with the plain rice and seaweed. I also got a banana matcha latte. The matcha was nice and creamy, and subtly sweet with the banana pudding flavor from the cream on top. Will definitely be back at this cute cafe for a quick filling lunch and matcha fix!

Came here after shopping for some miffy gear with my sister and it's a small cafe situated in this large industrial shopping area near the Santa Ana Airport. We got our drinks relatively fast and didn't wait long at all. We also went during a saturday afternoon. My sister liked her strawberry sakura latte and I got a hojicha latte. I thought my drink was fine and the flavor was as expected. I would want to try their specialty drinks next time if I want something on a sweeter end. Overall, it's a nice place to get a snack and/drink before or after shopping for some comic books, miffy merch, etc

Truly a hidden gem! It's tucked in a random office plaza near John Wayne Airport. It's a small cafe with 2 small tables. It seems to be structured more as a "pop in, pop out" type of place. I wish I took more pictures of the interiors but I was very warm and the staff carried on that cozy energy too. Definitely emulates a hole in the wall cafe in Japan All the drinks were good, on the sweeter side. The cream tops were balanced. The cold brew weren't too acidic which was a huge plus. It kept me alive for a whole convention day! The onigiris were a little dense and a decent meat to rice ratio. The salted bread was a fluffy and crispy texture. So good! Can't wait to try their other items next time~

This is a tiny, tiny little hole-in-the-wall cafe! There are only two little tables for two inside the place, so I would recommend taking to-go. There is a ton of parking because it's in a lot with a bunch of different office spaces. The worker was very kind and friendly. I ordered the Shiso Konbu and the Uma-Kara Mentai onigiris. I was disappointed by how tiny the onigiris were relative to how expensive they were. But, they did have really good flavor! Good spot to come to if you want a little snack!
