Tried chicken bone broth ramen for the first time and they have a simple yet tasty menu with 3 main items: ramen with either clear broth or creamy broth, crispy chicken tenders, and house made potstickers i loved all the toppings that were in the ramen and the chicken tenders were so crispy and juicy! * creamy broth ramen * fried chicken tenders * chicken potstickers * apple pie dumplings * thai tea slush * strawberry slush

Hubby took me here to try the vegan ramen here after seeing it go viral on tiktok. I really want to applaud them for the uniqueness of the dish and thought that went into making it because I can tell that it was carefully crafted BUT I think it could be better.The biggest issue is that they add a slice of narutomaki, the little white circular slice with a pink spiral pattern in it. THAT IS FISH! NOT VEGAN! I had a bite and could taste fishiness immediately. To the business: PLEASE STOP PUTTING THIS IN THE VEGAN RAMEN! I didn't want to make a big deal of it so I gave the slice to my hubby but others may have stricter diets and maybe some people are allergic to fish! So I hope the business takes this seriously. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you may have to specifically ask them to omit it.Other than that, the ramen comes with two big slices of tofu that has some breading on it like fried chicken which makes it way more interesting than regular tofu (and yay protein!). However, the breading gets soggy in the broth so I was in a rush to finish it.The broccoli on top is freaking delicious (but definitely a bit on the oily side). Fried slice of lotus & the fried garlic toppings were also great. There was some spinach and corn to balance it out but on the whole, it was a little too unbalanced with fried, oily toppings. Ramen broth is nice and creamy but could be a bit more flavorful. Kale noodles were great. No notes.We also got the fried mushrooms and they were breaded perfectly! Came with slices of fried garlic and fried with dried chilis too (but not too spicy). Also had some sort of orange aioli but honestly, the mushrooms were delicious on their own. Service is a bit slow and the place is rather small so it seems to serve more take-out/to-go orders.

A highly rated ramen place in Newport was what I was craving after a day in Balboa. It is located in a plaza on PCH, and it is small with ability to seat maybe 12 people. Owner is super nice, and ordering was easy.Since the creamy ramen uses nuts, I ordered the clear ramen. The broth was light, and it was okay. Their fried chicken used really good garnish as spice, which I appreciate.If you are in the area, it is worth a try.

It's a limited menu but oh my gosh the ramen is so good! Just beware that it's quite a wait for your food. The staff puts a lot of effort and insane amount of dedication to preparing each order and ensuring it's perfect in terms of presentation and quality. We saw one of the restaurant staff blow torching our pork belly to perfection. Highly recommend you order ahead by like 40 minutes to make sure you get your order on time. People tend to bulk order. Was not disappointed by the ramen broth and pork belly at all.

Had a nice late night fall dinner here and enjoyed all the warm comfort! We came for the ramen and tenders that did not disappoint. The ramen was creamy, full of ingredients, amazing flavor and beautifully presented. The tenders were very unique and had an amazing crunch outside. They are extremely rich and greasy so I wouldn't want to eat them as my sole entree but I'd recommend sharing! And of course could t pass up the dessert dumpling. So good!

Found this little hole in the wall ramen spot and was pleasantly surprised! Small joint with a few seats and water! I am assuming the owner is very sweet and was extremely helpful at giving us the "best thing" to get and the chicken ramen was phenomenal. You can tell there is good quality broth that has been marinating for a while and thick goodness! Potstickers were great and had some good crunch around it! Was unsure of what it was but again didn't matter because it some great flavor! Solid ramen spot and definitely recommend in my opinion!

Came to try the ramen and it was okay. This restaurant is very small. Seats about 10-12 people max.The creamy broth was ok as that is what I ordered. I got all the fixings on the side so I could try the ramen and broth separately. Ramen is good but I have had better. The broth was ok, a little salty but just okay. Not into eggs in my soup so did not eat that.Would come again to try something different, but have other places to go for ramen before here.

One of my biggest guilty pleasures is eating ramen. Consequently, I eat them often from many different places throughout the year........and Kokiyo became one of my favorite places to eat from in recent times. The soup both creamy and clear is absolutely delicious! The noodles come in just the right texture and portions. I love their pork belly chashu toppings. It has a nice aburi flavor along with melt in the mouth texture. And in terms of karaage available in the area, Kokiyo serves one of the best! The batter, the texture, the flavor is just perfect. Coupled with easy parking, friendly atmosphere, and efficient service, I can't find anything to complain about. I look forward to returning again in the future.

The creamy broth was unique and filling. The crispy tenders were full of flavor and tasted very fresh. The service was quick and friendly. It is definitely a cozy location but very clean. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Found my new go to spot whenever I'm near the beach! The place is small, with only four tables inside but I saw many people placing orders for to go. We ordered their clear and creamy broth ramen the latter containing cashew milk which I was pleasantly surprised by as it was my first time hearing of a ramen broth using that type of milk. Noodles were perfectly cooked and broth was delicious. We also ordered their gyoza and their spicy chicken tenders which in my opinion was the star of the show. Their house made sauce for the tenders really topped it off and I would come back just to get these again. We tried both the strawberry lemonade and thai tea slushie both which were surprisingly really good with our meal as the thought of having slushies with ramen is kind of a weird concept. Service was amazing in all aspects and cleanliness of the place was spotless. I'd recommend this place to anybody that would be in the area
