Unfortunately, it is one of the worst establishments I have ever been to, in terms of customer service. After trying to order a Tonkotsu miso, but asking if I can simply swap out the broth with the Spicy Tonkotsu Miso base, they were having a bit of difficulty understanding. I explained that I wanted a Tonkotsu, but just spicier. I further explained that I liked what the regular Tonkotsu had that the Spicy version didn't (mushroom) and did not want what the Spicy version did, but not the regular version (corn). So naturally it would've been easier for me to just to make it the regular Tonkotsu spicier. She then said I can then customize the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu by adding mushrooms for an additional charge, then taking out the corn which they do not charge for. She was being quite rude about it and not to mention it was difficult to understand what she was saying wearing a mask in November 2024.I really don't understand why she was making it so complicated, when I'm just asking to make something spicier. Instead of adding and subtracting, etc. It did not matter if adding spice is an additional charge. I was just trying to save everyone the wasted energy lol. I was expecting a to go order would be easy enough. Once the lady brought me my order, all tied up in a plastic bag, I was relieved. I noticed it did not have the shape of chopsticks, so I checked the contents. And utensils were missing. I mentioned to the lady there were no utensils. She then proceeded to blame me stating, "We don't give utensils IF YOU DON'T ASK." Anyway, I would not recommend this place. I did not hear a thank you once. And I even added the tip as if I was dining in. It also makes me question why the establishment name changed, but no ownership change, if I'm not mistaken. In addition, the level of difficulty in making something spicier comes off as it's not fresh, but rather pre-made.

Because of limited options for good ramen in the area this place is fine. The tonkotsu soup was pretty good. But the shoyu broth seemed to lack depth. Very soy sauce flavored. Noodles were cooked right. Not too soft. Which is a good thing. The gyoza that came with the kids meal was totally fried. Not that good. It should be pan fried on one side and steamed. Finally the sushi we got which was the shrimp roll was very good!

I was craving Japanese curry and this place popped up. Glad I checked it out as it did not disappoint! The curry sauce is top notch served alongside one of the best rice I've ever had! I know right? Rice! Really excellent! Truthfully, I would have been happy with just the rice and curry sauce but of course I enjoyed the chicken, shrimp and fried egg that came on the Curry Combo! I'll be back for sure to try their ramen next. Cant wait!

I'm really happy to have stumbled into this place for a casual weekday lunch with the hubs. I loved their chicken katsu and my husband raved about their omurice. Nothing tops the soft, runny egg omelet which is topped with a sweet and savory sauce.

The space is inviting and clean, service is amazing, and most importantly the food is delicious & in generous portions. The curry is soo good & with chicken katsu's crunch is the perfect pairing. Will have to come back to try the rest of the menu!

Great new Japanese restaurant in South OC. Nice to have a local spot that has great Japanese dishes that aren't as common in the typical south OC area such as Omurice and hamburger steak. We ususually drive to Costa Mesa or even way out to Torrance area to get this kind of food. Service was great and highly recommended!

Good pricing compared to Irvine/northern OC places. Not too salty, but not flavorless either. Service was great as well :)

Service and food were awesome! We got the Spicy Beef bowl, hambagu patty over omurice, chashu bowl and chicken karaage. The beef bowl had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. The omurice had an amazing sauce with a great hambagu patty over it. The chashu bowl was perfectly fatty and had a great sauce. Chicken karaage was crispy and also had a great sauce! I would 100% come again. All the portion sizes were very generous at their price point. Was very impressed and would recommend this place to anyone in South OC!

I recently discovered a hidden gem in Mission Viejo called KIIRO, and I couldn't be happier! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The menu features an incredible selection of authentic Japanese dishes, including curry and hambagu. I tried the omurice, which had a delightful balance of tangy and rich flavors, with a comforting spice.The spicy donkotsu miso ramen was a standout--deep, flavorful soup with just the right amount of miso, and the noodles were perfectly tangled and chewy. They also offer gluten-free noodle options, ensuring everyone can enjoy a meal without compromising on taste.KIIRO is family-friendly and great for grabbing a quick lunch, like a rice bowl. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. If you're in the area, especially near Saddleback College, don't miss this cute spot! Highly recommend!

Love Kiiro! Visited Japan and upon returning I was struggling to find some real Japanese curry in southern OC; glad I found this place! Love the curry and omurice options, I feel like they're hard to find around here. Super friendly staff and family owned, highly recommend.
