This place is 10/10 for food and service. We were there at 5:30 pm, so it was pretty empty, so I'm not sure how busy it gets. We started with samosas, but our server recommended a special instead. It was essentially a deconstructed samosa- it was insanely good. Flavorful and fresh tasting. We were off to a great start. I couldn't decide between three dishes. The waiter recommended something not at all on my radar, but I was not disappointed. I settled on Mehti Chicken, and my dad got the Lamb Vindaloo. Both were phenomenal, and we picked level 4, because we're white. I can handle some spice, but this was on the edge of being too spicy

Know before you go:1. The sign outside says Basanti.2. You need to take a few stairs down into the restaurant area.3. Lighting is dim inside but there's plenty of sunlight.We did the 16 dollar lunch deal which comes with an appetizer, entree, rice, naan, and dessert. This was definitely a fantastic deal and I highly recommend it.

I finally made it in here tonight to pick up food and the owner is so nice! He made me a special dinner that is not spicy and doesn't have any cheese. I'm excited to eat it and will attach pictures .5 stars for him but the food was not as flavorful as I was expecting it to be. I don't think you have to add spicy peppers to prepare authentic Indian food maybe just a little salt and secret indian spices without being distractingly spicy. The chicken had zero flavor unfortunately. The aloo gobi was also bland. The positive part was the pappadum which is my favorite snack!!

EXACTLY WHAT I CRAVED!!After reading the incredible reviews I knew that I HAD to try Kianns myself - and I'm SO GLAD I did!! I ordered Garlic Naan to accompany my lunch special which included Chicken Tiki Massala and vegetable coconut curry.....All were beyond exceptional- I truly can not wait to return!!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch at Kiaans and the food didn't disappoint us! The set lunch was well balanced with a substantial amount of vegetables and meat. And the dishes were customized to spicy preference. The set lunch came with biryani rice and garlic naan. Saag Paneer a chopped creamy spinach, Indian cheese and curry spices is always my favorite and was prepared just right. Lamb Tikka Masala was delicious. The lamb was tender cooked in creamy butter tomato sauce. The service was very friendly and engaging. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The hour glass on our table was fascinating which initially the first thought was to time the arrival of the dishes.

One of the best Indian places I've ever been and I've had Indian food all over the world from London, to Hong Kong, to San Francisco, and Tokyo. For starters they have the best Baingan Bharta of any restaurant I've ever had, and is the second best eggplant dish in general I've ever had. Everything else at this place is top tier too though. You cannot go wrong. Everyone who I have taken here has loved everything they have gotten. This place also has service at the level of a $50 per plate Indian place in London-- even for their very inexpensive lunch special. Speaking of which, their lunch special is by far the best I've had for the money at a high end Indian place. Anyone who hasn't been to this place is doing themselves a disservice. In my opinion this is clearly the best overall Indian restaurant in Orange County but I can see some arguments for Khan Saab and Hot n Chili as well.
