3/5 ~The ambiance is not too private. 5/5 ~ The preparation area is in the front by the register and is fun to watch. 5/5 ~ The menu is loaded with choices. They are all reasonable and large in portion size. 5/5 ~ The service is quick and the people are super kind. I will decently come back when I have the time and room for delicious Mexican food.

Jalapeños Me is hands down one of the best spots for authentic and delicious Mexican food in Tustin! Their bean and cheese burrito is absolute perfection--simple, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The option to add a steak takes it to another level. Their chips and salsa are always fresh, and the nachos are loaded with goodness, tacos, burritos, taquitos, it's all good! Highly recommended

Jalapeños. Used to be one of my favorite places to hit. Newly remodeled, maybe they need to save money. Cause the asada in the burritos and the fish in the tacos was nonexistent! Seriously gentlemen. Prices up quantity down. It's asada! You put skirt steak in the burrito! I couldn't even find any. All . It was floating in my hand! And then fell apart. You know why? No steak! Here is the thing there are plenty of other Mexican places all around you that will do better. Good luck. Keep the frijoles!

This was recommended by a friend so I went for lunch and was pleased with the variety of options available. I had the shrimp taco and some rice and beans. The quality was excellent and it was very flavorful. The employees were pleasant and the restaurant clean. It is a nice mix of "sit down" restaurant and fast food. Parking was convenient and I had no problem finding a spot.

I came here the other day to try their crispy tacos that my girlfriend recommended. We showed up early afternoon and luckily the restaurant wasn't busy (yet). We walked in and placed our order for food. My girlfriend got two Shredded Beef Crispy Tacos with rice and beans, and I got a Shredded Beef Crispy Taco, an Asada Crispy Taco, and an Al Pastor Crispy Taco. In about 10 minutes our # got called and I went and picked up our order. Here's how it went:- Shredded Beef Crispy Taco, Asada Crispy Taco, Al Pastor Crispy Taco: I normally separate the items in my review but I can sum it up in one. A generous serving of meat, lettuce, and cheese is placed in each crispy taco. Each taco tasted delicious and paired well with the multiple salsas they have available. I recommended all of these crispy tacos. There's plenty of seating inside and a good sized patio outside.Parking is plentiful, though I would be kind of worried if it gets busy.Service was good, the workers were friendly.I'll be back for more!

I moved away from California in 2019 and the only thing I've missed, aside from some amazing friends, is Jalapeños. I took a road trip from CO to CA a month ago and couldn't wait until I got to Tustin to stock up on burritos, chips and salsa. I froze the salsa in individual servings, and froze the chorizo burritos as well, so I could enjoy them over time. Sealed up the huge bag of chips. They didn't last long enough! The tacos were as delicious as I remember, beautifully crispy and simple. The chorizo burritos had the perfect balance of eggs, chorizo and beans. The chips and salsa... forget about it. I see some reviews saying it's gone downhill, but after a 5 year hiatus, everything I tasted was even better than I remember. Sadly, I just ran out of the chips yesterday (been dipping into my stash daily, air frying them to re-crisp them) and am back to longing for the best chips ever made. I attempted to duplicate their mild salsa and did a decent job, but would be eternally grateful for the recipe for their hot salsa. Until I figure that out, I'll be pining away in anticipation of my next visit.

What happened to this place? It used to be so good and now it's trash! I went today for breakfast. Got a machaca plate and a burrito. It wasn't real machaca, it was only shredded beef with egg. Not only that, so tasteless! On top of all of this, super expensive for the crap they served. Never returning. Do better owners.

Given the size of the menu, I was surprised by the fantastic quality of their meats. Given the location and demographic they serve, its surprising how much flavor they've been able to put into each bite. With that being said, the fault comes when trying their salsas. The green cilantro is pretty standard, but their mild tomato tasted like previously frozen and diluted pureed tomato paste. Takes away from any of the main dishes, and not even worth dipping the chips they put so much effort in frying on site. The owner and other servers were all fantastic and do what they can to ensure everything they can do for your time there gets done. Kudos.

Tuesday, December 24th, 2024 during the 1:00pm hour.I went to Jalapeños, Tustin, to get a bean and cheese burrito remembering how enjoyable it was when Jalapeños made it special for me. I enjoy melted cheddar cheese inside my bean and cheese burrito. I asked Carla, the cashier as she was taking my order if I could have the cheese melted inside the burrito. She already knew before hand that the beans we not hot enough to make the cheese melt. She immediately said unlikely because the preparers were to busy. Then she turned to the preparers, Ysidro and Agustin, and asked them if they could make the cheese melt. They immediately said no with a snarky attitude. And Carla, turned, snarkly replied, see I told you. I said, I would be willing to wait and Carla said it is too much trouble to do that for you when we have other customers and we are busy. This whole scenario is rude behavior from all three employees here at Jalapeños. So I ordered my burrito as they were going to prepare it and went to my table and Lucy, another Jalapeños representative, came to my table and asked what the issue was, so I explained it to her. She told me she would make sure my burrito would be prepared as I asked for it and she did. Lucy went above and beyond. I wand to commend Lucy for her outstanding customer service and recommended to Jalapeños, Tustin, if they want business to expand and have returning customers, to get more employees like Lucy and less like Carla, Ysidro and Austin.

I have been taking out food from this restaurant for many years. Last Friday, February 21, I picked up food again and in my burrito was a rock the size of a nickel. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, Daniel, he apologized and offered me new food. I explained I would like my money back and he said to come to the restaurant and they would do so. Today, I was in the area and returned for the refund (along with the receipt and rock). The manager on duty refused to give me a refund and only offered a store credit. I explained I was no longer interested in eating there any longer and he still refused to assist with a refund. Considering I have been a customer of theirs for almost 30 years, I was disappointed. The $11 I spent is not the issue but being told one thing and then refusing to give the refund is not acceptable. I will file a complaint with the BBB and with the Orange County Department of Health.
