Our adventure into the Korean culture started with "I Can Barbecue" in Irvine. The rumors are true, food is better when you cook it yourself. The robot was a futuristic piece that brought together the delectable food and fantastic experience. Great food, great service (Robot waiter and human waiter) and a great KBQ spot.Came here on Presidents' Day with the fam and thought it was gona be $30 per person since it was a Monday around 1:30-2pm.However since it's a "Holliday" they charged us $40 (which is why I'm giving 4/5 stars)I mean come on...I get like Christmas thanksgiving and new years but a random holiday like presents day just to charge $10 more a person?...seems kinda like a low way to charge extra. I'm sure they charge like this on Boxing Day, Carrot cake day and international cat day! Just to make more money! BUT everything else honestly was great.I will be back! But I'll have to check my calender first...

I recently visited I Can Barbeque Korean Grill in Irvine while on a work trip for the first time, and while there were some highlights, there were also areas for improvement.Starting with the positives, the quality of the meats was excellent, with a wide variety to choose from. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful, making the grilling experience enjoyable. The side dishes were also a standout--delicious and complementary to the meal. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The biggest issue was the ventilation. The smell of grilled meats permeated the entire restaurant and clung to my clothes, which was less than ideal. Better ventilation would make the dining experience much more pleasant. Additionally, while ordering through the app was efficient in theory, it became a bit of a hassle. It took away from the flow of the meal, especially when we had to keep going back to the app to place additional orders.Overall, the food quality and variety make this place worth trying, but some improvements to the dining experience would go a long way.

Great spot for korean bbq! They have so many options for side dishes and the waiters are very good at refilling them when needed. They are very attentive as we were asking for a lot of things. The meat quality is really good and they have a lot of options. A little disappointed that they no longer had the beer tower as that was one of the reasons why we wanted to eat here.

I have been there before, but really didn't love it this time. The beef cuts were tougher than usual, although the lamb was quite good. Tried the tongue - bleh - tough. Side dishes were good and plentiful, and the service was fine. Expensive for the experience. Very cold in the back of the restaurant as there is an outdoor patio and the door was open a lot and people went back and forth. We will go again, as it's the closest BBQ to our house. If it's better then, I will update this review. Happy new year, everyone!

This is our new favorite KBBQ! They have great options to choose from. The staff at this location are great every time as well. Always making sure the bbq's are being switched out and bringing out the food very quick. You get to choose 3 item at a time to order. The wait is never too long either.

Food: We primarily ordered marinated boneless short ribs, which were okay. We also tried some squid, chicken, and mussels, and those were acceptable as well. The kimchi and cucumber were good. I've been to many Korean BBQ grills, and there was nothing particularly spectacular on the menu that caught my attention. The menu was simple, and the vegetable selections were very limited (mushrooms, zucchini, and onions). Extra kimchi and cucumbers had to be ordered through a staff member. The restaurant utilizes robots for easy ordering, but we didn't experience this feature due to our table's location.Service: I called the restaurant around 5:00 PM, and a woman answered the phone but couldn't provide an estimated wait time. She instructed me to join the waitlist and, when I inquired about the waitlist location (Yelp or their website), she responded, "Just find it; it might be on the website." I did find it on their website and added my name to the list. Upon arriving around 6:20 PM, I attempted to check in at the front desk. One employee informed me that they would text us when a table was ready for our party. Then, I observed people walking in and being seated immediately . I approached another employee to inquire about an estimated wait time for our party, as we had signed up online and hadn't received any updates. He responded, "We don't really use the online waitlist, but we can try to seat you in a few minutes." This was a significant disappointment, as it felt like a waste of time to use the online waitlist. Another disappointment was that we were seated directly by the door, where the door constantly opened and closed as people entered (every minute). It was difficult to enjoy cooking my food when smoke was constantly blowing in my face as people entered. Service was a bit slow, and the lady who provided side order condiments (kimchi, cucumbers, water) had a somewhat dismissive attitude.Ambiance: We were seated in a booth. The table lacked any noticeable exhaust system to remove some of the smoke while cooking.Overall: Our expectations for the restaurant were influenced by the staff's overall treatment and the quality of the food. Despite the circumstances we encountered, we were willing to give the restaurant a try.Suggestions:Train staff to be knowledgeable about the restaurant's waitlist system and how to provide diners with accurate information to help them make informed decisions.Train staff to treat customers with courtesy and respect. Diners are the lifeblood of any business. Remember that staff members earn a living, and diners spend their hard-earned money for a good or great dining experience.Diner Beware: The waitlist on the website may or may not be actively used. Good luck!I'm sure some people have had positive experiences when the restaurant is not busy. It's unfortunate that robots handle part of the service, but the human service was subpar during peak times.

My first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant, thanks to this place being halal, and I truly understand now what I'd been missing out on!! When you arrive and let them know you're there for halal food, the staff will give you access to only the halal menu options, which is very extensive. They have marinated and non-marinated meats, from beef and lamb, to chicken and seafood. When you arrive there are dipping sauces at the table as well as kimchi, cucumbers, radishes, sesame noodles, and tofu. You can order 4 meats every 10 minutes up to 2 hours, and each member of your party can access the menu through the QR code on the table on their own devices. I've heard some other places can be really smoky, but looks luckily this experience wasn't that smoky and I think it's because the staff come and change out the grill periodically for you. The food arrives at time via a robot, and other times by human staff, and empty dishes are cleared through a combo of both as well.

First timers at this KBBQ & we were blown away by the promptness & customer service provided to us, even when we walked in 45 minutes prior to last call (22:00). They were able to seat our family of 7 adults + 1 high chair within 5 minutes & the area provided was so spacious to accommodate us! We celebrated our daughter's 2nd birthday & we had family members who just flew in from Honolulu. The food options were great - slightly limited for meat selections but the quality of the meat was great, especially for the price! This place is an AYCE & they provide a halal option as well! The menu could be found at this address: https://www.39miles.com/p/10736780/e1RUOjN9?timestamp=1724992917I highly recommend the beef belly & brisket! Something I did wish they had on the menu was pork jowl but otherwise all of the options provided were just as great! Our servers cleaned our grill without being told to do so & the service was excellent from start to finish. We purchased a macaroon & asked for our daughter to be celebrated - the servers did just that! They provided a robot to sing to her and a candle lit macaroon to celebrate & our daughter LOVED IT! Our server was so great and we are truly not only satisfied with the food, but with the service as well!Parking was spacious and location was easily found in the shopping area! If you want to party with some alcoholic drinks, happy hour is from 9pm to close - so don't miss that! I highly recommend this KBBQ place if you're in the area & there are other locations as well!
