Definitely heaven on the tip of my tongue. Gosh we happened to start up a chat with a random group of people that were walking out of this restaurant. The women just could not stop raving about this place. Looked inside and sure enough the place was packed. This place is small family owned Mediterranean restaurant. Walked into with higher expectations and they hit it out of the park. One of the most delicious Mediterranean foods I have had in OC. We ordered the Ali Nazik which to me was a mashed and smoked eggplant and beef koonideh served in buttery yogurt sauce with a slightly sour and spicy paprika kick. oMG it was deliciousWe also ordered the Heaven stew was phenomenal!!! Lamb neck broiled in a delicious stew WHICH just melted off the bone. The stew itself was served in a stone pot with. Soft/warm layer of flatbread that seals the stone pot to keep the steam inside. The server then opens up the flat bread to reveal the tender lamb neck inside. YummmmmThe owner was also kind enough to allow us to try the Dogh which is a cucumber yogurt drink which is commonly had as a beverage. For me it tasted like the yogurt sauce we typically order as a condiment. Seems almost every table was ordering it so must be goodOverall a fabulous place to dine. Also excellent service and fast turnover. Would go back in heartbreak.

My wife is half Persian, so we've had a great deal of Persian food over the years. We ordered kebabs and doogh (which I'm told that as a native Ohioan I probably wouldn't like -- it was good! Totally not for everyone though).Anyway, the waitstaff was kind and quick, the food was delicious, the prices were good, the portions were huge (I could not finish my meal), and everything was just what we expected. I don't think the waitstaff thought I was going to like the doogh, but I did, so we kept it. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Been wanting to try this place since I saw it on yelp. We called to make a reservation for 2 people at 5:00 pm and were able to get seated as we arrived. There is not much seating and It was getting busy as we were leaving for a Sunday evening. We got a red glass of wine, a koobideh with chicken and beef place and got tadgik which is crispy rice with some stews. I had always wanted to try tadgik as I had heard from my Persian friends good thing about it but it wasn't my favorite as it is crispy rice. I felt as if it was a little too burnt for me but the chicken koobideh and rice were really good. I would come back here if I was craving person food but order what I know is good which is the chicken koobideh

Christmas Day Disappointment:We visited this restaurant on Christmas Day since most places were closed, leaving us with little choice. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. The place was chaotic, and the service was a nightmare. Before arriving, I called to confirm they were open, and they assured me they were. Upon arrival, the man at the front was incredibly rude, even toward the lady trying to help us. We didn't have a reservation, but she said if we waited about 20 minutes, we could get a table that was about to free up. We waited patiently for 10 minutes, only for a party of nine, without reservations, to arrive and get the table we were waiting for. Shockingly, the man decided to prioritize them over us, even though we were already waiting. My husband went in to clarify the situation, and instead of resolving it, the man rudely yelled at the lady, blaming her for saying the table would be ready. It was baffling why she wasn't supposed to say that, especially since we were waiting long before the group of nine even joined the list. To make matters worse, the table he gave them barely seated four people, completely unprofessional.Once we finally got a table, the same man rudely told us he would take one of the two tables we were seated at, leaving us cramped at a small table. This resulted in us stacking appetizers on top of our main dishes, as there was no space. To top it off, they took our salt, pepper, and sumac for another table, and we had to awkwardly ask the next table for it back because the food desperately needed seasoning. As for the food, it was terrible. My plate was filled with tiny bones; I've never had chicken kebab served like that in my life. Additionally, a man who appeared to be a friend of the rude staff member walked in, hugged him, and ordered takeout. To our shock, he received his food quickly, while we waited another 10-15 minutes after that for ours, this was after already sitting for almost 40 minutes waiting for our order.Overall, the service was rude and disorganized, the food was disappointing, and the experience was one of the worst I've had. We won't be returning. They eventually apologized for the delay and acknowledged their unprofessional behavior, which we appreciated. I understand they were busy and overwhelmed, but removing part of our table without even organizing it properly for us was unacceptable. Half of our plates ended up off the table, making the experience chaotic. To be fair, the appetizers were delicious, and ladies were friendly but the gentleman's unprofessional attitude ruined what could have been an enjoyable meal. It's disappointing that such poor service overshadowed the food.

Really friendly staff, good food, and good ambiance! The chicken in the Tahchin was exceptional, it fell off the bone and was seasoned well. The baked saffron rice with yogurt and egg yolk was also tasty. My only qualm was that there were cranberries (?) that I wasn't expecting to be in the dish that I didn't really care for. And there were A LOT of them. The mediterranean fries were also really good, crispy and soft.

My new go-to Persian restaurant in the area. I seriously can't believe I haven't tried it sooner. My dad and I stopped in for lunch the other day and the koobideh combo was perfect for two people to share. Both the chicken and beef were so ridiculously moist and tender with the right amount of char. Rice was fluffy and delicious and the grilled tomato was perfection. Sprinkle on some sumac on the side and you've got yourself an award winning meal. We got the hummus to start which came with a huge, steaming hot lavash bread and that was amazing too. Service was quick and very friendly. I highly highly recommend this place for some out of this world Persian cuisine. I can't wait to come back to try their stews. Great spot for a lunch or dinner with family and friends.
