Hans' Homemade Ice Cream

Amazing ice cream, super creamy and rich. I believe the ice cream is homemade. They have more flavors than I can dream of. Vietnamese coffee, bananas foster, and strawberry chocolate chuck were what we tried. The ice cream sandwich and dipped cones looked so delicious!! The customer service is fast and friendly. Thank you Ronnie Perez! Very polite. Feels like an old time ice cream parlor. There are tables and bench seating as well. Cool chandeliers filled the room.

I haven't tried the ice cream, but after stumbling upon this place I was pleasantly surprised at what a charming, old-fashioned diner feel this place has, serving classic deli options. You can enjoy a quiet booth during the week and it gets a bit busier on the weekends. They give you soda in a chilled thick mug straight from the freezer making it the best soda in Santa Ana. Sandwiches come with those decorative 2 slices of orange and a pickle on the side. And the waitresses are all on point. Overall, it's a comforting and nostalgic experience. It's nothing fancy, but that's what's great about it. Someday, I plan to try the ice cream.

I'm shocked how many good reviews this place has. I've had a lot of ice cream over the years and this was some of the most bland and tasteless I've ever had.We each got two flavors and somehow they all tasted extremely muted and similar. It just felt like eating something cold, might as well eat an ice cube lol and save $50 (four double scoop ice creams).The aesthetic inside was cute so the third star I gave was solely for the diner style and friendly staff. But you're better off getting ice cream elsewhere for the cost.

I grew up going here and was in town visiting and was taking a walk down memory lane and wanted this homemade ice cream I loved as a kid. It has changed a little over the years but it still has the same look like before. There are plenty of flavors to choose from. I got a two scoop Sunday and it was so delicious it brought back so many good fond memories. The ice cream is what I remember the most it's so delicious. Service was good as they were quite busy for a Saturday afternoon. If you're looking for a cute location for some good ice cream this place is worth the stop.

No doubt about their ice cream being quality you can taste since it's homemade. Afterall, the brand must be doing something right having been established since 1972, that's awesome!Order up:- Single scoop (1/2 Wild Mountain Blackberry and 1/2 Chocolate Raspberry Truffle)- Double scoop (Coffee Oreo and Chewy Chocolate)Interesting they don't offer free samples though since some of their flavors sound unique and possibly delicious, but that's the business's right I suppose. They do have two other locations (Pacific City in HB and inside Anaheim Packing House), which I will have to remember if I'm ever in those areas. Happy eating till next time...

The best spot to drop by on National Ice Cream Day, or well, on any day for an old fashioned scoop! They not only serve creamy and delicious ice cream, but they also have a food menu with items like BLT's, French Dip, Tuna Melt, and Grilled Cheese. It all goes perfectly with the oldies music playing on their radio. Oh but unfortunately, no samples are given for their ice cream. Today though we ordered a scoop of the Vanilla S'mores and the Rum Raisin. Both were so good and filling. They're made with egg and are such a heavy dessert that you can't be in any way full to enjoy these dairy treats. That's when you know you've got a real dessert on your hands! It is a small place, and it was busy when we walked in and had to wait just a few minutes for a table to open up. But it is always worth the wait!

Yummmy!!! We had the butter brickle and cinnamon toast crunch. The butter brickle was rich, creamy and had buttery crunchy tiny toffee like bits. Cookie butter is made with Biscoff, deeelicious! The coffee and Oreo needs no explanation, fabulous. We went as a group of 8. Everyone had something different and everyone loved their flavors. Ice cream rich, flavorful and not too sweet! This lovely frozen treat is smooth and creamy with very intentional texture that adds this fantastic dessert experience.

The exterior of the shop scared me for a second that I went to the wrong place LOL Not the same design as the other Hans' locations I know of. I got the Single Scoop with 1/2 Coffee Oreo & 1/2 Oreo Cheesecake. I wish I got the entire scoop coffee oreo because that was AMAZING. Their portions are enough for a small sweet treat at a reasonable price. A great balance of each flavor. Lots of flavors to choose from and I struggled to pick a fave since there were no samples allowed :/

Serving Orange County from their Santa Ana location since 1972 Hans' Homemade Ice Cream prides itself on making every flavor on-site, a use of Cream from local dairies imparting good density in classic flavors one is unlikely to find at spots like Wanderlust or Jeni's.Unfortunately not offering tastes, arrival just past 1:30pm finding two staff members baking Cookies without any other patrons present, $7.70 yielded two scoops including Butter Pecan with less sweetness than most plus Vanilla Caramel Wafer that adds bits of textural variance to traditional swirl.
