The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Bun Cha and Bun Đậu Mắm Tôm.

We ordered #14 and #16, which were both delicious! The service was very fast (we went around 2pm on Monday) and we were seated right away. The interior is very stylish and bright.

Great spot for northern Vietnamese cuisine, offering generous portions at great value. We shared four plates among five of us, and still had leftovers. We ordered the Bun Chả and Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm. Both dishes were loaded with fresh leafy greens, cucumbers, bean sprouts, mixed herbs, and vermicelli rice noodles. The Bun Chả featured crispy grilled pork patties that held their shape well and had the right thickness. The balance of charred flavor and seasoning, along with the tangy pickled carrots and radish, made it a delicious dish. One of my favorite northen Vietnamese dishes:)The Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm was delicious as well--crispy tofu, egg rolls, sliced pork, and the distinctive fermented shrimp paste (can warrant extreme reactions from those not familiar). I love that the crispy tofu had a silky interior that added a nice contrast to the crunch. I do wish they gave more egg rolls (there was just 1, cut in half).PRO TIP: Bring cash -- this is a Vietnamese establishment, after all. But they do accept Venmo and Zelle!

Stopped by again the other weekend since I was in the area and craving some Bun Dau Mam Tom. Luckily, it wasn't too busy, so we got seated pretty quickly. Also decided to try the Bánh Canh Tôm Cua Chả Cá this time.Bun Dau Mam Tom - They do it right here. Crispy tofu, all the fixings, and that funky, stanky shrimp paste sauce (in the best way possible).Bánh Canh Tôm Cua Chả Cá - Solid bowl of noodles. The broth had great flavor, and the thick, chewy noodles were on point.I've been here a few times now, and it's consistently good. Just a heads-up--every time I've visited, they've said their card machine is "broken," so pretty sure it's a cash-only spot (though they do take Zelle). Bring cash for tips unless you wanna get called out.

Hanoi Old Quarter is a little spot I've been frequenting, that specializes in food from the regions of Northern Vietnam.Parking is great and plenty, but in the case you don't know where Hanoi Old quarter is located yet, the entrance is located in the back lot of The Mall of fortune (behind 85 Degree Bakery). The first time I came here, I really wanted Canh Bun Cha Ca but they were sold out! So I opted for the Bun Nem Cua Be ($15.95), which consists of fried crab meat spring rolls, served with rice vermicelli, fresh veggies and a sweet fish sauce. It was my first time trying this dish, but this is probably my go to, I've already reordered! I came back for the Canh Bun Cha Ca ($15.55), which is a savory tomato and crab based soup that has fish cake, morning glory herb, tofu and crispy fried shallots. I enjoyed their version of this dish very much, the broth definitely has depth and is very hearty. Another dish I would like to mention is the Banh Canh Tom Cua Cha Ca ($15.55), which is like a Vietnamese seafood and pork udon. I love a thick noodle, so I had to try. I really did enjoy Hanoi Old Quarter's play on this dish, because they do not skimp on the crab and it was a flavor bomb. I'm usually all over this dish, but was so hesitant to order it here because they make it slurry style (think of the texture of an egg drop soup). When I usually eat this dish, I prefer it more bone broth-y. Even then, I would reorder this, so that says a lot!my favorite drink here is Jasmine Green Tea with the special fruit jam ($5.95), so refreshing, subtly sweet and fragrant. I have tried the lemon and mango tea but they're too tart for my taste.I really enjoy it here because it is full of chill vibes, Viet pop jams and the decor is super cute. They usually do not have an extensive wait time. I love that their flavors are deep, portions large and they do not skimp on anything. Service is also good and fast. If that's your flow, you know where to go!

We got #14 Canh bun cha ca (crab noodle soup with fish cake) and Banh canh tom cua cha ca (crab and shrimp Vietnamese paste udon, both were good. Very large portions and lots of ingredients. The Canh bun cha ca had pork meat balls, pork blood, fish cake and thick noodles with fish soup. The soup is very fishy tasting and clear. The Banh Canh Tom cua cha ca has the thick tapioca soup. It was very tasty. It has a lot of crab pieces, a fish cake, pork slices, and udon noodles. Love this soup, would definitely recommend. The service was quick. The restaurant looks modern and clean. HAPPY CANH BUNING!

Tried the Bun Cha Ha Noi to go. It came with a generous portion of vermicelli noodles, grilled pork, and fresh herbs. The pork patties and slices were well seasoned and remained moist, even for a takeout order. I placed my order in person, and they prepared it within 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and even offered me a glass of water while I waited.Currently, they accept Zelle, Venmo, or cash, as their credit card system is down. The parking lot is spacious but can be challenging during peak hours. The listed address may direct you to a different restaurant on the opposite side of the plaza. Instead, use this address to find the store entrance easily:Hanoi Old Quarter, Behind Plaza, 9902 Westminster Ave Suite B, Garden Grove, CA 92844

Absolutely loved my noodle soup! It tasted like bun bo hue with a mix of bun rieu. This place gets so busy and I can taste why! I loved the stinky sauce with a side of tofu, pork, eggrolls, and greens. This place gets a 5 bc of the fish patty. O M G it was the best I've ever had. BUT I've decided to give this restaurant a 4 bc of the service. There is only one server, cashier, and busboy. It took forever to get a to go cup. I really like the decor. It was nicely done for such a small place.I'd definitely come again when it's not so busy.
