Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

Solid chocolate ice cream for the stroll by the beach.Chocolate milkshake was delicious.They serve fast. You'll get your ice cream by the time you finish paying.No sitting area. Make sure to grab napkins on the way out!

My favorite is chocolate brownie peanut butter ice cream ı will never change it I vizit this place when ever ı am in the area I recommend everybody to try this place

I have been to at least 5 Handel's locations in Southern California, my favorite flavor is Chocoholic Chunk. I stop at a Handel's whenever I'm in the area where there is one. I was driving and told my friends I will take you for the best ice cream you've ever tasted, we're stopping at the Newport Handel's. Three of the gals had never been to a Handel's before and were excited to try it. There was 1 gal working at the counter, I believe her name was Kayla. She gave me my $6 cup of ice cream, and there was no doubt it was just 1 large scoop (see photo), not the 2.5 - 3 scoops I've always gotten, and my friend paid $7 for two flavors, and also got such a small cup too it was ridiculous for $7. When the other girls saw the size of ours, they all said we'll pass and go to Yogurtland.When I asked Kayla why for $6 she only gave me 1 scoop, it wasn't worth the price of $6, and I've been to many Handel's and it's at least two-three scoops. She said I gave you 2.5 scoops and it's just the way I push it down hard into the cup. That was not true, I was embarrassed and my friend who got the two scoops also complained, and told me, "I would never come back to this location again. I've been to the new store by me in Downey, and gotten much more then this, I'd rather have gone to Yogurtland!" I think Kayla and her unfriendly attitude, so sure of herself needs to be trained or preferably fired, she is no asset to the Handel's chain whatsoever. I took a photo to show the size.

My bf and I were super full from eating but we had to make an ice cream stop while we're at Newport. The ice cream is some of the best that we both have had. The texture isn't exactly soft served but still has that nice consistency that I like. It's smooth ice cream and it isn't overly sweet. A scoop is quite large. I wish we could just eat all the flavors here. We decided on the Oreo and it's delicious. Save room in your stomach for dessert.

Stopped by for some ice cream last night. The texture was smooth and flavors were vibrant. Although it was a cold and windy evening, they were decently busy. The server/cashier was super friendly and offered samples. Will definitely return next time I'm down in the area.

This is such a great place if you're looking for good quality ice cream! We luckily arrived before the food rush so we were assisted right away. They have a variety of flavors so it was hard to pick. Finally decided on a scoop of salty caramel truffle. The ice cream was creamy and rich with a strong caramel flavor and pieces of chocolate. The serving was generous and pretty fulling overall. Would definitely come back to try other flavors!

Delicious ice cream is my favorite snack, or dessert, or breakfast. I have been patiently waiting for my first chance or excuse to try this brand. Today was the day! It was totally worth the wait.I was with my favorite friend and it was hot and the line was short and we just went for it. The service was fast and friendly (and super cute). The product was tip top. Both our flavors were even tastier than the pictures look. It is rich and sweet and everything a premium ice cream should be.There was a vast array of choices when it comes to flavors. There were also an array of cones and sizes.I promise if you love ice cream you will love this!

It was my first time trying Hansel's ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. I had cookies n cream in their waffle cone and I left with the biggest smile. The ice cream was light and flavorful, didn't leave me bloated like other places and the prices were definitely affordable and worth it. The line moved very quickly and the customer service was great. The employee helped me make up my mind because I was indecisive about what flavor I wanted at first. They are located in a shopping center/plaza and there was ample parking and spaces to sit. The ambiance was very chill, I definitely will be back with friends and family. I want to make sure everyone gets to enjoy their delicious flavors.

Classic beach essential, line moves quickly. + Small Graham Central Station in a cup ($6): sweet Graham flavor with loads of chocolate covered toffee nuggets. Ice cream melted quickly, wish there were graham cracker pieces! (7.5/10)

It was a somewhat chilly night and there was no line (score!) There were tons of flavors to choose from; it was difficult to pick just one so we went with the sampler. Highly recommend doing that if you want a taste of 4 flavors. We ended up picking ube, mud pie, mint and raspberry cheesecake. We enjoyed the ube and raspberry cheesecake the most! The ice cream was indeed yummy but didn't blow me away. Service was good too and ambiance was just right. I would definitely come back if I was in the area and craving ice cream.
