Golden Spoon

You walk in and are transported back to the good ol' days. With red tiles, golden spoons and the sweet smell of frozen yogurt.Our service was quick and our cups were full!I'm a sucker for their peanut butter yogurt and mini Reese's pieces!

Any visit to Golden Spoon harkens back memories of my teenage years when I used to enjoy fro-yo as a teenager. It's hard to believe this establishment has been handcrafting deliciously creamy frozen yogurt using all-natural ingredients since 1983! Kudos to Golden Spoon for withstanding the test of time.The Irvine location of Golden Spoon occupies the corner unit in the food court at Oak Tree Shopping Center. Parking in this center can be challenging during peak hours. A young teenaged girl worked the front counter when I visited with my daughter on her birthday. We ordered two 8 oz regular cups, but I think this size may be too big for one person...I'd recommend the 4 oz mini cup instead. Due to the special occasion, my daughter got to add toppings and she chose sprinkles and gummy worms (IMO gummies aren't the best toppings for ice cream or froyo because they harden and are more difficult to chew). Golden Spoon's menu is ever-changing, so I'll be curious to see if the Georgia Peach flavor is still on the menu when we visit next time!

Brought my son here for a quick treat after school - place was surprisingly empty but I didn't mind it. We tried the banana strawberry and it wasn't as refreshing as I had hoped :( Wish they had just plain yogurt flavored froyo!Their mini is still pretty big for $4.99, you get quite a big heap of froyo in the little cup!

Outstanding service on a busy sunny weekend day. It was bustling but service was efficient and accurate. Their frozen yogurt is delicious. Storefront clean, bright and seating inside and out.

I was really wanting some chocolate soft serve only to discover their chocolate flavored one was down suddenly.I settled with their strawberry flavored frozen yoghurt with cheese cake topping.What a disappointment. It tasted like one of those artificial strawberry fluoride mouthwash you get at the dentist office. It's too bad because it looked delicious and smelled like it would taste good, too.I am not sure why the texture was also off, also. It had a gritty crystalline mouthfeel to it. The aftertaste was awful. Somehow very bitter and just ick.Giving it a 3-stars due to the otherwise friendly service I received and ample free parking. I most likely won't return in the future.

As a so cal native, I've always been a fan of Fro Yo, but no one does it quite like Golden Spoon. Not only are they known for their iconic gold colored spoons, but delicious frozen yogurt, with tons of fresh toppings. So glad this chain has this new location in Irvine. This location is small but has a few tables inside and plenty of outdoor seating. The store was very clean, and the workers were making sure to keep it that way. The workers are great and fast. This is by far my favorite frozen yogurt. Even simple flavors like old-fashioned vanilla just hit the spot. It's so creamy and delicious and love that it's a little healthier than ice cream. I'm kind of a yogurt purist and prefer it plain, but they have plenty of tempting toppings. Make sure to also enter your number to get rewards! Thanks for opening Golden Spoon here, I'll be back!!!

Finally stopped by. Nice experience, we were greeted right away and didn't have to wait. Simple and clean shop with plenty of parking. There are also a bunch of tables outside in the plaza if you don't want to sit inside. We ordered one mini old fashioned vanilla with oreos and a regular mango/pink lemonade swirl with gummy bears. Portions are huge! I love how they put the toppings in the middle versus sprinkling it on top. Yogurt pricing is standard, especially for the portion size but I do think the toppings are pricey. Nice place to stop after lunch or dinner in the plaza!

As a kid growing up in Huntington Beach I frequently stopped in. Now that there's one here in Irvine I was excited to bring my kids in. We each ordered the mini. It was definitely more than enough. I was surprised at the price of a topping set at $1.79. My daughters and I had cake batter and I also had vanilla. My son had pink lemonade. I can't remember what my husband choose. We all agreed it was just ok and overpriced. We don't plan on returning.UPDATE: since the owner replied to state that the $1.79 includes three toppings I will say I don't think it's states that on the menu and the employees didn't offer up that info. With how high the serving is I can't imagine getting 3. Maybe with a larger size it would work. With the store being new it would be nice if the employees stated it was for 3 toppings. I hope this places does well.

so happy golden spoon is back in Irvine - grew up enjoying this froyo spot and we don't have to drive out to CDM for it :) the classic chocolate and old fashioned vanilla are simple and delicious. the quality of golden spoon is better than other froyo spots, and though pricey it's worth the sweet treat. workers were sweet and offered samples , and gave plenty of toppings. the mini size is perfect!

We were delighted when Golden Spoon opened near us because it's my boyfriend's favorite frozen treat. We like how there's a balance of timeless favorites together with fresh seasonal choices. There's plenty of parking as well as seating outdoors (& a couple tables inside). Great spot for an afternoon or evening treat.
