Gelato del Mar

OKAY, BUT WHAT IS IN THE GELATO!? This is the best gelato I have had in my life and that includes gelato in Italy. We tried the coconut and salted caramel. I did not expect such deliciousness.Possibly also the best? no line on a Saturday and approachable staff. Granted, it is 'winter,' but WOW.

Food - Gelato, good Gelato! This is the 2nd time I've visited this place and it hasn't disappointed me. Simple and delish gelato without all the crowd. No fluff or fufu and decent amount of flavors! Service - both times, there this gal that was helpful and friendly for sure.Ambiance - it's in Newport Beach so it's quaint and might miss if you don't pay attention. Verdict - overall a great place to go and one of my go to for Gelato and I suggest you try this place too!!! Simple and straight to the point. Suggestion - they say people sometimes eat with their eyes. And most peeps like to see what they are being served. But it also kind reminiscent of the olden days so not a big deal at all!!!

Swung by this place for the first time when we were on our way to CDM. There were plenty of street parking on the day that we went. Service was great and we were able to sample a few flavors before deciding what to get. I would say all the flavors are on the stronger side, where you could really taste the natural flavors. I think the espresso flavor was the strongest one i've ever had. We ended up getting two scoops: pistachio and honeycomb. honeycomb 4.5/5: honey flavor was nice and strong and I loved how there was a little crunch to it. definitely on the sweeter side so if you have a big sweet tooth, this is the place to go pistachio 4.5/5: very creamy and nutty and also a bit on the sweeter side. paired well with the waffle piece so might get it in a waffle cone next time.

Great gelato place in the heart of CDM with plenty of free street parking around the neighborhood. Came by on a Sunday afternoon before strolling down to the beach for sunset and it was perfect. Quick and friendly service and delicious flavors. I got the honeycomb and it wasn't too sweet which I loved. Would happily come back next time I'm in the area!

Having gone to Italy, we've learned a little bit about gelato. Learned that authentic gelato lies flat and not fluffy. This is how their gelato is, but regardless, what I love about this is the taste! Been here probably at least 3 times and tasted different flavors each time and loved all of them! Your gelato comes with the free cone or waffle cookie. Service is always good and staff are nice and helpful. Love the clean, simple and airy ambiance.

Great local gelato spot. The owner was so kind and helpful. I loved that they had gelato for our pups too. Give them a try. I loved the hazelnut and pistachio flavors together.

I love the different flavors of gelato offered. They also add a cookie or a small cone if you prefer and you can try as many samples as you like.The place is very nice and clean. Service is always good!! Highly recommend the experience.

Good customer service, and the gelato is really good! Espresso and Pistachio flavors are really good!

Stopped by with my daughter and had a delightful experience. The guy working there offered as many samples and we wanted to try and was helpful recommending his favorites. My daughter got the honeycomb and I had the lemon raspberry sorbet. Both were delicious. I found the portion size to be just right. Of course it's on the pricey side, but that's just how it goes in CDM lol.

This place will blow your mind! After three visits, I can say their insanely delicious gelato isn't a fluke. Every flavor we have ever tried is the best gelato/sorbet we can ever remember trying...including in Italy! The honeycomb was the biggest surprise. It sounded good, but I wasn't prepared for how delightful it was. I have found that gelatos can be a little bland. Not here. Furthermore, they store the gelato the proper way, not in huge glass cases. The owner is there often. He is very nice (as are all the employees I've interacted with) and seems to really care about his customers. Best part, no line! Will never go anywhere else for gelato.
