Very clean and nice ambiance to dine in and would come againI got the roasted duck and honey bbq bowl and it gets the job done. Duck was flavorful but I found the honey bbq pork to lack the caramelization that I'm used to. Also got pig ears for an appetizer and it was delicious. It comes seasoned mala-style which is slightly spicy.

No phone order is really something else. Why waste people's time to wait when you can get your order ready when your store is so small.Edit: thanks for the manager's explanation. The lady on the phone could've explained that it's only during the holidays that you don't take phone orders. Which is something that I just found out now with the reply.-So the communication skills need to do better? Instead of letting us know that there were no phone orders during the holidays, the lady on the phone just yelled out "you come pick up and wait 5 minutes" and hung up. That 5 minutes statement is a lie, by the way. It always takes more than 5 minutes to get a whole duck/meat. So there's already dishonesty from this restaurant. It's also wild that the manager reply thinking 1 star is unfair when I'm rating on your "services" and it was definitely a 1 on that day with my experience. So yes, the 1 star is well deserved.I never like to leave one star reviews which I rarely do in Yelp. It's ok if you can talk properly and explain it's the holidays. Don't hang up and yell at your customers. And then left a reply like that.

We're on a quest to source peking or roasted duck for our Thanksgiving dinner. We did a search for nearby restaurant that could cater and Frank's was the first place we stopped into.Price was reasonable and they had a variety of dishes that would complement the meat selections. If you happen to arrive at opening, expect to wait at least 20 minutes to cook up a fresh batch of roasted duck/pork/chicken. We decided to get a decent spread that included all those things:- Triple Rice Bowl with Honey BBQ Pork, Peking Duck and Soy Sauce Chicken- Fried Green Beans- Honey Walnut ShrimpI think we were both surprised by the paper plates we were given, but the portions were pretty generous. The triple meats were piled on top of rice and steamed cabbage. Rice does come with a la carte items and they gave us a plate full. We had so much rice! Both the green beans and shrimp are things we would order again. The meats were a bit too oily for my preference and I thought the way they had chopped the chicken/duck had shard of bone mixed with the meat. Every now and then, I would bite down on a piece of bone, which was annoying. Hubs was unbothered. He didn't care for the chicken or pork, but he did enjoy the duck. It was flavorful and complemented the duck sauce. Overall, a good option for duck. I'm interested in the roasted pork option, but I think it's only available a la carte. Will be back again!

While on my work trip I wanted to try Franks BBQ for lunch. I'm from Chicago and the only BBQ we have is Cantonese style and that's what I am used to and want. Frank's missed that mark. I ordered the 3 meat plate (soy sauce chicken, roast duck, and bbq pork). This is not authentic Cantonese style but I can see how they have tried really hard to be it. The duck was super bland and the sauce they provide was more of a sweet and sour sauce. This didn't satisfy my hunt for authentic roast duck Cantonese style but I did appreciate the effort. The duck was cooked really well but it was too bland. They soy sauce chicken was also not a favorite. The bbq pork was very good and that tasted like what I am used to eating. But overall this was a disappointment. I wanted to try the roasted pork belly but they were all out and they don't serve it during the weekdays. More of a weekend. I personally would not go back. But glad I tried it.

Yummy roast duck and pork. Highly recommend but do keep in mind that they can run out if you come too late/towards the end of the evening. I haven't been back since but it's good to know there's a place in the area with good Chinese food. The menu is a little confusing, so try to ask questions if you can. They only use disposable cutlery and plates. Service is a little slow (which was surprising) even though the food we ordered was mostly already ready and just needed to be plated/stir fried.

I tried the roasted duck rice bowl. Price was not bad at all for the amount of food I got. My order was ready for pick up in a short amount of time. The duck meat was so tender and seasoning was perfect. A plus was that the cabbage was really yummy!

Finally, a decent Cantonese bbq spot thats not all the way in Rowland. We used to drive all the way to Diamond Bar for Tasty Box but happy to know Franks is close by.BBQ is probably one of the better places in the area. Meat is flavorful and tender. Bbq Pork and duck are always my two faves. We've had many of their other dishes, including the dishes in their quick serve trays and felt everything was pretty good. Their vegetable dishes are done well and we really liked their Kung Pao chicken. The only thing I would not recommend is the walnut shrimp. We ordered it once and the sauce was essentially a sugar sauce, but it was grainy... as if the sugar hadn't fully dissolved.

Finally a local Chinese roast duck takeout place after the Sam Woo disgraceful left us. Very good bbq pork and roast duck. Just like all the Chinese places of yesteryear. Nice authentic throwback Glad this place exists for all the people craving some nostalgia.

This place by far has the best Chinese BBQ in Orange County, something that has sort of become elusive as of late, and while some people have their favorite Vietnamese places in Little Saigon that do the same thing, this is the closest to that Cantonese style. The prices are fair, though it can be a bit expensive for the rice plates, so I always recommend just getting the meat and splitting that over several meals. Whether it's duck, BBQ pork, or roasted pork, you honestly couldn't go wrong with any of the classics. One thing I'd have to dock this for is the lunch combo, which tends to not be replenished and if you come even slightly late you're basically picking from scraps. Given I normally prefer a later lunch, I never get here on time to get anything worthwhile, which is a shame since it definitely has a lot of promise and feels less greasy than most places that serve the same thing. Maybe one day I'll come early enough to try it and discover how great it is. Another gripe I'd say I have is that you can't mix the BBQ and lunch plate options, because sometimes you just want chow mein and BBQ pork and apparently that's not an option. The Lake Forest Asian food scene is absolutely burgeoning, and I'd be remiss if I didn't highlight Frank's as one of the big names in this movement.TIP: Load up on the combo meats and you'll be fed for days. Or well two days maybe.
