We had another awesome dining experience at Five Crowns ! Our waitress, Rani, gave us outstanding service, was very friendly and engaging and really went above and beyond. She made our Valentines dinner very special ! Five Crowns is fortunate to have someone like Rani !Our meals were absolutely delicious ! The best Prime Rib anywhere. My wife and I have been dining at Five Crowns for over 40 years. We've never been disappointed! We took our three daughters there growing up and now our grandkids ! We miss Tommy Martin, as he was always a fixture at Five Crowns over the years. Five Stars all the way around !!! (P.S. Never change your Prime Rib or Pride of the Crowns Salad !!! )

Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the PriceI had high expectations for both the food and service, but unfortunately, this visit fell far short. * Fixed Menu: Below average, and the dessert was downright sad. * Wine: Ordered by the glass ($19), but it was undrinkable. Glad I didn't risk trying the pricier options. * Service: Beyond delayed. Despite a 6:45 PM reservation, we weren't seated until 7:30 PM--in a back corner. Our food didn't arrive until 8:50 PM. * Overall Value: For a restaurant at this price point, the experience did not justify the cost. The first impression didn't match the upscale reputation, and I wouldn't return.Wouldn't recommend, especially for a special night out.The only thing nice was the fire place that I could see when the table next to it left.

Day after valentines day at the Five Crowns restaurant in corona del mar for prime rib dinners. Five Crowns is a Lawry's family restaurant. Their prime rib is spectacular. Jim was our server and very professional as you would expect from a fine dining establishment. Ambiance is a mixture of English inn and nautical motifs. We'll be back We had calamari and crab cake for appetizers. Both of us ordered the crown cut (10 ounce) prime rib for our main course, cooked medium rare

A wonderful evening to celebrate a birthday and anniversary at Five Crowns from service, atmosphere to food! We felt so welcome and pampered. For a start we had a Martini and Queen Bee which was whiskey, allspice dram, lemon and honey. Delicious! The Prime Ribs were quite the highlight at Five Crowns and I am not surprised. They were hearty and fabulous! Each prime rib came with a choice of two sides. The Grilled Branzino was a perfect healthy alternative. To complete this dish came with a plate of Caesar's salad. The chocolate soufflé and ice cream were spot on to end our celebration. And it didn't end there. Our server offered a slice of cake with a candle and champagne on the house! Definitely it's more than a restaurant for celebration. The bar was a cozy and warm spot to hang out.

We came here to celebrate a major milestone for our youngest son and the whole family decided to take him to his favorite restaurant, Five Crown As usual, the foods came out fantastic and very flavorful. Our server, Georgina, made a great recommendation for my sister who had a specific dietary restriction. Overall, we couldn't be happier with this place. It's very memorable indeed. We would love to come back and try other foods.

Ambiance is so elegant yet cozy. We sat near the garden windows at night, there were little candles lit. Service was wonderful. Attentive but not too much. All courses of the dinner service was so delicious. Everything was fresh, well cooked, and definitely makes you want to come back to try other dishes. We also tried the whiskey flights which I don't see many places offer. Valet was hard to find at first but the lot is right next to the restaurant. The street itself is very narrow so it's easy to miss. Can't wait to come again!

Food:- We got the crown cut prime rib and they offered to split it into two. That's already big enough for us to get full! There was an extra charge for the split since it's extra sides and we didn't know that. The prime rib was tender and flavorful so that makes up for itService:- Our server was very friendly and chatted with us about the history of the restaurant. We also inquired about holding an event here and were able to look around and they were very accommodating Valet parking is available next door for $8

Came here the other night for the girlfriend's work holiday dinner. Had one of the upstairs rooms rented out for us and decorated for the holidays. Coming in, there was an open bar offering wine to drink, but you could also request cocktails, which they would have made at the bar and brought up to you. There were two appetizers being delivered around the room prior to dinner, one was a bruschetta, which was ok, didn't stand out in any way, and the other was a crab stuffed mushroom. The crab stuffed mushrooms were cooked perfectly, with a nice softness in the mushroom with a good crab meat mix stuffed in the center. For dinner, we all started with a Caesar salad, which, hard to mess that up. For entrees, you had the choice of prime rib or Chilean sea bass. The sea bass, though dry on the outside, was very moist inside. It came with cauliflower florets and there was supposed to be a hazelnut brown butter, but I couldn't make that out of my plate at all. As for the prime rib, it was very tender and juicy, with an au jous they poured on top, that really didn't add much in terms of a flavor profile as I would have hoped. For dessert you had the code of a creme brulee or sticky toffee bread pudding. The creme brulee definitely needed more of a brulee of top as that breaking of the sugar you look for with the dessert was but there. As for the bread pudding, it was more a dense piece of bread with a whipped cream topping. Not that silky, gooey dessert you might think of. This felt like it needed a lot more love to reach its namesake. The one highlight that I can wholeheartedly recommend is one of their seasonal drinks: St. Nicks Heavenly Helper. It's a bourbon drink with a pumpkin liqueur, lemon and brown sugar. Very flavorful. I had a few people try mine and that became the drink of the night people were ordering. Overall, the seasonal cocktail was fabulous, as we're the crab stuffed mushrooms (not a normal menu item). Everything else, nothing you have to run out and try.
