I wanted to explore some unique deserts than what I eat every weekend, so I searched for some deserts in the area after finished a long hike today, and I found Filo. Everything look great in the photo so I decided to check it out, and I'm so glad I did. Their Baklava is so thin and crunchy, almost melt in my mouth, it tastes amazing with their pistachios ice cream! Their Knafeh is warm, crunchy, cheesy but in a perfect complexity of sweet and savory at the same time. I definitely enjoy them all while buoying the cutesy interior designs of this shop. Their upstairs has two open tables and a few stools to sit and look at the overview of the shop. Filo Desert has its oun parking at the back if the street parking is a hustle. They also close late around 11pm, so it's great place for a days after dinner!

overall score: C+food:scoop of lemon mintthe lemon mint was good. it was basically like a frozen lemonade but turned into ice cream. it was a little expensive though coming out to around like $7 for one singular scoop. there was nothing special about it, but it was good.service:this place is only receiving a 3 star because of the service. the whole store is so disorganized. i believe they have 2 entrances one from the front and back and it makes the line confusing. at one point i didn't even know if i was in line or not. when it was our turn, the worker wouldn't really pay attention to us. i feel like the way they run the store is very inefficient.ambiance:the store is a bit narrow and cramped. the interior is nice but my girlfriend and i just went back to the car to eat it.

After meeting up with my friend for dinner we walked towards our parking lot and discovered this little dessert place. The ladies working were friendly and very helpful when we asked questions. There were families sitting and eating, as well as other people relaxing in their cute little shop. If you like baklava, they have several different kinds to eat as is or add into ice cream. I believe they also served tea and coffee. I only wanted one piece but one order of baklava is two pieces. They were simple and basic tasting. If you need something sweet after eating at one of the restaurants in Old Town this may be for you...as long as you're not allergic to nuts.

I had my eye on this spot for a couple of months and finally got the chance to try it on Sunday afternoon for some coffee and dessert. The place was beautifully decorated, not busy at all, and perfectly located at the Chapman entrance just before the Circle. We ordered the Dubai latte and karak with saffron tea, both served in elegant glassware, which was a nice touch. For dessert, we tried the Basbousa, a homemade coconut cake, paired with Biscoff ice cream, and everything was absolutely perfect. The flavors were well-balanced, not overly sweet, and the coffee was served at just the right temperature (not scalding hot, thankfully). The man working there was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, even offering us samples of their homemade ice creams. Hoping this place thrives because the Circle could definitely use more cultural diversity and unique flavors!

The service was amazing!! It was our first time and he let us sample a bunch of the most popular flavors. We ordered a Biscoff ice cream baklava which was so good!! It was our first time having baklava ice cream. The baklava itself was super sweet so next time I'd provably just get the ice cream on its own. The biscoff ice cream was SOO delicious!!! We also ordered the knafeh which is a warm desert with melted cheese inside with pistachio ice cream. It was my first time having cheese plus ice cream!! It was good - quite pricy as two dessert came out to $30. Very cute interior!! It was nice to try new desserts.

4.5 stars. Very cool place - owner makes all the Booza ice cream himself. All the ice cream is made with I believe mistika mastic so the ice cream isn't your normal texture. It's much thicker with a pull. You can add toppings as well. I got the lotus biscoff one and that seems to be the most popular flavor. They also sell sweets like knafeh and drinks too.

As a Syrian-American, I approve of this cafe!! The boozah (ice cream) is SO good; one of the many things I miss about Syria. When I see the pistachio ice cream color like that, I know it's gonna be good. Stay away from the neon green that other places sell lol. The karak chai was piping hot which I love because I swear these days my hot drinks just come out warm lol. And it tastes great! The space is beautiful and inviting. It does get a little warm inside. The staff are very kind and they are part of the reason why the space is inviting. I am excited to come back to try their other desserts, especially their knafeh!

Quick SummaryWonderful spot to try some Mediterranean desserts! Really enjoyed the Mistika ice cream and the crispy knafeh. Plenty of seating available. Street parking available but it's a short walk from the DT Orange areaFood- 5 starsReally enjoyed my first experience with Mediterranean ice cream. I wanted to try something different from the typical baklava, so tried out the Mistika ice cream and the crispy knafeh. Both were incredibly good. It was a good mix of hot and cold (ate it separately) and I really enjoyed the different textures of the knafeh (with the creamy cheese being complemented by the crispy noodle like bits). Service- 5 starsThe service was great. They were helpful with samples and explaining the menu since it was our first timeBottom LineExcellent food and service. Can't wait to go back!

I've been wanting to try booza and so glad we have it here in OC! This ice cream is so unique and fun to eat because of its stretchy, yet creamy texture. 'Antep Pistachio': I loved the pistachio, there's no artificial taste and you can tell they used real pistachio, with the chunks of pistachio adding a nice crunch to it! One single scoop was a pretty good size and it comes with one free topping too, I got biscoff. Got to sample a few of their flavors and everything tasted really fresh! Also, couldn't get over the ambiance of the inside of this shop, it was so pretty! And I loved that they had an upstairs area as well with a couple of tables/seating.

The crunchy Knafeh was really good, my friend and I also got the saffron karak chai which personally didn't meet our expectations (the flavor was there but it tasted too watery rather than milky so if that's your thing you're good, if you are more of a sweet drink person the flavor profile might not be best suited). Lemon mint ice cream was also nice. Overall good experience and service.
