Faka's Island Grill

This shop is in a food hall but it did not stop the great service we received. Our cashier, gave a bunch of good suggestions and even made a deconstructed Masubi for my daughter. We went with the hungry Faka because it was a little of everything. The food came out in 10 minutes and was delicious! Can't wait to come back.

This place is so good! I actually fell in love with the 4th Street Market. Really cool area to grab food, drinks, and watch Sunday Night Football. The Katsu plate was really good. Very filling meal for one person. Definitely check out the 4th Street Market in Santa Ana.

Came to 4th Street Market for dinner and found this gem! The staff was friendly and helpful with giving recommendations. I ordered the chicken katsu plate which came with rice, macaroni, and a choice of sauce. I had a hard time deciding so the gentleman who assisted me at the counter gave both. I also got their seasonal drink which is a mango, guava, orange juice.Chicken katsu plate- The katsu had a crispy exterior and the meat inside was juicy and tender. The rice was soft and fluffy and the macaroni was creamy and paired beautifully with everything. The honey sesame sauce was sweet and the chili sauce was a good blend of tangy and spicy. Mango, guava, orange juice- This was nice and refreshing! Just the right amount of sweetness and the fruit flavors blended well.Great meal overall!

Honestly haven't had the chance to try any of their food, however we have tried their Ube Flan which is just incredible. It's hard to not eat the entire piece of Flan in one sitting. Their menu which depicts the flan does not give it enough justice and therefore my wife and I picked up a slice one day and have been hooked ever since. The service is fast, ambience is always great within the 4th St market, as we'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. We're grateful to have been able to stumble across this small little shop, you gotta try the Ube Flan asap!!

I checked out Faka's Island Grill for the first time on Saturday, 8/10/2024 right before 3:30PM. Luckily, my husband and I came at an off-time so there wasn't anyone else waiting to get their food, and our wait was after ordering was pretty quick! We ordered: Pork Belly Plate combo with Mac Salad + Drink $19.40 (price as of 8/2024 excl tax)- At first I wasn't aware that the pork belly was going to be chopped up into tiny pieces. They don't give you a lot of protein. The flavor was tasty but it wasn't exceptional. Mac Salad was good, nothing to complain about here. I think my husband enjoyed this meal more than I did. I did, however, love the pickled onions which brought in that sweet and sour tang and crunch with each bite. - I love spam masabis but I didn't really care for the Masubi here. The rice to spam ratio was not proportionate. The spam is thinner while there was too much rice. It wasn't jam packed with flavored. Customer Service:The guy who helped us wasn't a chipper kind of guy. He said that there wasn't a key in the cash register to press for the free drink with Yelp check-in. However, he still honored the yelp check-in and provided us with a free drink so I appreciated that! Overall, the food was decent but it wasn't my favorite. My review leans more of a 3.5, but I wasn't too impressed.

Stopped by 4th Street for some lunch and found yet another gem inside. I got the Chicken Katsu with Furikake Rice and the Mac Salad. I added on a crispy masubi and drink to go with. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly and the ambiance is that of 4th Street, food forward hang-out spot.

I ordered the chicken katsu plate and it was not what it seemed like the picture. Maybe it was an off day or something but the chicken was burnt and dry. They only gave me half the chicken portion as the chicken in the pictures. It was a very sad and disappointing meal for $15 bucks - looked more like cafeteria plate. I could get better chicken katsu at Shootz for cheaper, which is where I went after to cheer myself up.

This was one of the stalls of my fiancé and I wanted to try at fourth Street market. We shared the chicken Katsu plate with the sweet and spicy sauce. The chicken was super crispy cooked well and the sauce was different, not like the traditional Katsu sauce, but I thought it was soooo good! Furikake rice and Mac salad were also pretty good!Definitely a spot I would try again when in the area.Knocked a star off for customer service. It was okaaaay but I was ignored for a good time before someone came over to assist. Just acknowledgement like "be with you in a moment" goes a long way in making you feel like you were at least seen! i saw them look at me but just left me standing there for a bit.

Nice little place with very courteous people working. Took one star off because it looks like most stuff here is on the spicy side. I got the span grilled cheese. It was really god except that my mouth was on fire!If you know me I am a NO SPICY girl. I wanted to get the pork one, but the cashier said it had alittle bit of spice. I then asked about the spam one and he said oh that one has no spice at all...well wrong o...just be for warned!Although it was good, I am glad that the stall next to them had free water!

So good!! The best i've had and so amazing ! Service is amazing and great communication! The Ambiance is great! Good coworkers and a great space
