Came here with my best friend to celebrate her birthday and we had such a wonderful dinner! The restaraunt itself is a little smaller but so cute, and the service was amazing. Our waiter was so knowledgeable of the menu and the whole cooking process. He was so nice & so thorough answering all of our questions :) (and offered us samples of the wines we were unsure about!) The food was delicious & 100% worth the visit. The potato croquettes are addicting & i ordered this black truffle gnocchi (?) I think it was the Mafaldine but i'm not 100% sure. Either way, everything was a 10/10 and I'll definitely be coming back again!!

Hoping maybe it was an off night, but our date night this past Saturday was so incredibly disappointing. Our server was very friendly but didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu when I asked a few questions. For appetizers, we got the Parker house rolls, which were good but two rolls for $10 is a bit steep. We also got the potato croquettes ($14 for 4), and they were just okay. I ordered two oysters and the first one was bad, entirely inedible, and I had to spit it out. I did not eat the second oyster. I did let the server know and they refunded the price of the oysters. I understand that sometimes oysters can be bad, but as soon as the dish arrived, I could immediately smell a strong fishy flavor and was really surprised that a kitchen with the reputation Ellie's has wouldn't catch that. For entrees, I got pasta with lump crab and my husband got a pasta with pork. The crab in mine was a bit chewy and the flavor was very one-note. The pasta itself was good. The server offered dessert and mentioned a bread pudding and I asked what the texture of the bread pudding was like because I don't like when it's soggy. He assured me that it wasn't soggy, and then it arrived; the flavor was okay, but it was soggy, and on top of that, cold in the middle. By that point, we didn't say anything because we were very disappointed with the meal overall and just wanted to leave. Bad oysters, soggy and cold bread pudding, and a $140 bill (including two glasses of wine) was enough for us to not want to return

Checked out the Monday supper for my first time here. Like others have said, parking sucks so I nabbed a spot about 4 blocks away and got my steps in. So, it's winter time in SoCal but all the doors were WIDE open. Meaning those diners like me stayed bundled then sitting inside. No cozy ambiance here. Supper: Parker House rolls so yummy! Pasta: solid and perfect amount to share. Main: salmon good, crispy skin. Pork chop and beans overdone and just ok. Verdict? A decent place to try but not amazing in any way.

This restaurant had good reviews so I made a reservation since we were up for the weekend. The restaurant is cute and intimate and has a nice outdoor patio area. It was pretty chilly outside and they kept the front door open which made the restaurant very cold. It was pretty uncomfortable. Other patrons were moving from the tables in front of the door as it was that cold. Our server was very nice. He explained that they have a smaller kitchen so once we knew our whole order, he would take it. He also noted that their menu was meant to be family style and shared. I would have to disagree. The servings were enough just for one person so I would not say "family style". But we all tried each other's entrees. Also a quick note that isn't a huge deal but he never refilled our water container so we had to ask for more water. We ordered the following:Carpaccio- so nice and refreshing. The olives gave it a nice zangy flavor. Yam- wow! It was creamy but the skin was crispy. The sauce was light and it all went very well together. Lasagna- you could tell the pasta was homemade. It was so light and good. The sausage was fantastic and the sauce was amazing. Tagliatelle- the pasta was great but the sauce was smoky and very good. Wagyu sirloin- nice and tender and the chimichurri was good and a bit smoky. My stepson got the bread pudding dessert and he said it was good. Cute restaurant. There were a few hiccups but overall a good experience.

Ellie's is a hip restaurant that has some unique menu items. We were seated immediately and the service was great. The parking in this area is awful and brunch prices didn't reflect the portion sizes. The Benedict wasn't warm and the fish & chips looked like they belonged on a child's menu. :[

All good things to say here - unassuming hole in the wall, nothing flashy about the inside aesthetic - which is the best part because the food and service are exquisite. Delicious wine list, simple menu done right, and make sure you save room for dessert. The team of server's are just as passionate about the food to be point that we asked to be surprised on a few choices and got spoiled with some fun creations. Very attentive wait staff with excellent knowledge of the menu and kitchen. Best chicken parm and freshly made pasta I've had in a long time.

Saturday night was packed so glad we had a reservation, seating inside is limited. Potato crochets were delish. I had the gnocchi with shrimp and the sauce was amazing. He had chicken parm and it was giant! He said it could have used more sauce though. Overall was a great meal!

I live two blocks away and went for dinner with my friends. We all got (4) different pasta dishes, and they all were bomb. I think my pappardelle was the winner. Portion sizes were mid, I prefer a lot more so I can take some home. The croquettes were taken down quick, so yummy. The Cesar salad also hit the spot with some fresh Parmesan.Hitching post Pinot was delicious and we got to try a few before deciding. Dessert to cap it off. Service was on point, vibes were flowing with a packed house, it was a great dinner. Would be back and seeming a cute yummy Italian dinner. Take anyone here and you won't regret it!

unique, and well priced. The staff were very kind and helpful, as well as attentive. We sat outdoors and loved the ambiance. It's a very small kitchen, so make reservations ahead of time and make sure to keep them.Highly recommend and will be going back to try their menu outside of brunch.

If only the customer service was as good as the food. I chose to pick up my food via curbside. I arrived a few minutes after my food was suppose to be ready, I call the restaurant, a woman answers, I explain I am picking up my order and tell her where I am parked. She peeks her head out of the restaurant, wearing a light blue jumper, and tells me she sees me. Five to seven minutes later, still no food so I call again, same voice on the phone, "Oh, sorry about that, it's coming", a minute or so later the woman in the light blue jumper goes to the passenger side of my car and offers to put my food on the floor of my car instead of just handing it to me. I ask her why the delay and she said "they like it to be hot" and they don't start getting orders ready until the order is ready for pickup. I said to her that they should let people know that and she said "No worries, ok", and walked away. This made no sense. Did she think I was a delivery driver?, I don't know, it was odd and off-putting.
