I been coming to this bar for almost a year plus and it's a very chill, relaxed place. Everyone is super cool and the food is amaizing. Good music and great drinks. If you ever visit ask for Juan. Legit bartender and always helps with a smile on his face.My fav food is asada fries, Tostada de ceviche de camarón cocido y empanadas de Camerón

El Barco delivers a fun and flavorful seafood experience with their signature shrimp in a bag. The shrimp are perfectly cooked and drenched in rich, zesty sauces like Cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper. The casual, hands-on vibe makes it a great spot for seafood lovers, though be prepared for a bit of a mess. Portions are generous, so it's perfect for sharing. If you're in the mood for a tasty, interactive meal, this place won't disappoint! Also, The service was excellent! One more insert liked octopus now I love octopus because of this place !!!

El barco greets her guests with a sign emblazoned with,"We may come from different ships, but now we're all on one boat" in playful homage to its name, which translates to "The Boat."The good? Seated within 30secs of our arrival despite Date Night crowds. And a pleasant collage of dark wood floors, black trimmed booths and tastefully done lighting welcomes you into this cozy but inviting restaurant. My bride ordered a skinny lime margarita plus her trademark shrimp cocktail. I opted for a four-pack of their signature tacos. Here's where things began skidding outtve control in the worst "boating disaster" since the Exxon Valdez. The examples of poorly executed service? Legion: -I had to check in with our server twenty mins after we'd placed our drink order to see WHERE those drinks mysteriously disappeared to.-When I Inquired about chips and salsa, we were brought a plate of highly salted fries and raunchy hot salsa that was only barely edible...and only then cuz my wife is a native Michoacana and scoffs at heat! But this white boy hubby of hers couldn't handle it. The heat from the overly spicy salsa AND the overly salinated crackers had me crying "Uncle." -At no point was it ever explained to us that El Barco levies a $4.99 charge for chips and salsa! -Ditto for the "condiment tray" composed of saltine crackers + small tostadas that accompanied my wife's shrimp cocktail. El Barco went rogue and charged us $3.99 for this!!! In a lifetime of enjoying Mexican food, this is the only time we've ever been charged for condiments that SHOULD accompany a $20 cocktail!! -My tray of carne asada tacos arrived with the meat honestly COOL to the touch. When I asked if they'd please reheat my plate, I'd expected it to reappear a min or two later-- Just nuke it for a minute. Instead, they remade them and they arrived fifteen mins later...by which point my wife had consumed the vast bulk of her meal!-Continuing with tonight's apparent theme of nickel + diming their customers into oblivion, El Barco charged me another $3.99 to refill my diet coke! Sooo- On a night where we had to spend an extra 45 or so minutes waiting for drinks to be delivered, meals to be reheated, the worst was getting extorted an extra $13 in the equivalent of bullsh-t fees for a tray of saltine crackers, a poor imitation of chips/salsa and a soda refill. In sum, El Barco's greeting may be welcoming...but in the execution of their dishes, the staff at El Barco drove the boat colliding into the shore. We spent $80, incl tax and tip, for a shrimp tacos and four street tacos. Wayyy too pricey if you ask me, especially when contrasted against the disappointments in poor service that we encountered.

I was hoping El Barco would be good and it didn't disappoint! We ordered the margarita flight (pineapple, strawberry, and watermelon) along with a cucumber margarita to start, and they were all fantastic! The cucumber was definitely my favorite, but they all were very good. We also ordered some chips and salsa (the salsa was definitely the lowlight, it tasted like it came out of a bottle and wasn't fresh), and some al pastor and carne asada tacos (both were excellent). I also tried the ribeye taco which was fine, but the al pastor was definitely the star of the show. Service was great and the restaurant still has most of the charm of The Olde Ship. I definitely will be coming back again soon, it's nice to see something finally open up in this location!
