Your faithful and favorite Yelp Elite correspondent here, reporting from DonerG in Lake Forest. Now Yours Truly is an experienced hand at Mediterranean food- Today's review marks my ninth such review of the Greek/Persian/Lebanese and now Turkish diaspora that all claim deeds to the proud legacy of Mediterranean cuisine. DonerG is positively luminous, gleaming with glorious red, black, orange and white design colors. And the hues aren't the only thing that sizzles at DonerG- Contemporary Christmas music floats in the air, happy couples alight around their Doner Kebabs and, good lawd, the FOOOOOOD rocks. Like vintage AC/DC shredding power guitars on "Highway to Hell!" Momentarily confused by all the Turkish references, it took your correspondent a moment to figure out what to order, but once I realized that this Instanbul themed restaurant drinks deeply from the same capacious wellspring of food and culture that their Greek, Persian and Lebanese brethren do...I quickly seized upon a "Fladenbrot." A fladenbrot piles your choice of premium Halal-sourced beef or chicken (both impressively shaved from a 3ft-high tower or vertical spit), Turkish style fries, red cabbage, spicy house sauce, onions and sumac amid the "fladenbrot," a super thick German variation of pita bread. Pro Tip #1- Can't decide? Ask for both types of protein on your kebab platter, wrap or fladenbrot. Pro Tip #2- Put your iPhone or Galaxy phone DOWN. This meal is a certifiable "two-fister!" I bombed through my meal like a Olympic downhill skier, slaloming past each gate or morsel of unctuous lovingly cooked ingredients. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. The last time I ate THAT FAST, I was a 21yr old senior at USC, quaffing down a trio of Tommy's eponymous chili burgers aat 2am...then burping it up for two days thereafter. I am soooo excited to have discovered, like a little kid opening a new Christmas present, DonerG! In fact, I'll very likely make the 20 minute drive -within the next few days- from my home to the Anaheim location (closest to my home) just to introduce my bride of 28yrs to this place! The restrooms were very clean. My bill was $14.51 for a decadent, super enjoyable meal. Not wondrously inexpensive but, given the amount + caliber of food, neither is it a rip off.I mean, how can you not love a place who cites their Grandpa Aslan filor a trusted company credo: "If you're not willing to eat what you make, then don't serve it."Judging from the buzzing, grinning crowd that steadily hums through the line, they must loooove their food cause they serve a LOT of it.

I have been coming here since it opened, but I only get three things: Dolma's, Pita Bread and Babaganoush. The dolma's are my favorite around this area. Nice tidy little wrapped delights. They are slightly lemony and come with a side of tzaziki. I think it is 6 per order.I also order a side of Babaganoush. It comes with like 6 triangles of pita bread but I always order extra as that 6 is never enough with the huge portion of babaganoush you get.

Food portion was perfect! My only complaint is that the grilled chicken was a bit dry everything else tasted amazing. Service was good it did take some time to prepare the food but both Francisca and Maitha took care of me. Order was placed to go but overall great meal after the gym and got my protein in for the day!
