This is the best run ice cream company in all of Balboa Island! We just finished having a fresh ice cream cookie sandwich, a real ice cream shake, and everything was served with a smile. My kids were so happy and felt at home by Dave and Hailey. They were so amazing and would definitely come back again and again.Thanks again, The Guerrero's

Update. I wasn't sure whether I should leave a comment on this recent turn of events but crazy people need to be held accountable for their actions. Additionally, I think the owner needs to know what happened as well.Please be careful leaving negative feedback for this business. After leaving my honest and accurate review of my experience at this ice cream shop, I was sent a direct message by the employee's mother (her Yelp name is Jennifer T to show the business owner I am not making this up) with a hate filled, vulgar tirade, calling me an a**hole and telling me that I'm a terrible person and parent and that my depiction of what happened is a lie, even though she wasn't even there when the event occurred. I appreciate a mother standing up for her daughter, but hunting down a Yelp reviewer and sending them offensive and vulgar DMs isn't the way to do it. I was 100% honest in my review and leaving honest feedback shouldn't come with concern that an employee's crazy mother is going to chase customers down to verbally assault them. Crazy! When I tried to respond to her DM to explain what happened, she had me blocked. Very brave. Again, the business owner should know that this has happened. I feel bad for the daughter who is now caught up in her mother's crazy drama but I stand behind my review and what I said was and is 100% honest and accurate.

So many flavors!!Stopped by after dinner at Newport Landing. It's hard to pick just one flavor. Definitely sample before you decide though because some pretty colors don't translate well for the kids. Went with a cotton candy and a strawberry scoop. A hit for the kids. A great stop for a summer night and will absolutely stop in again to try other flavors.

We had some time to kill in the area, so we decided to play tourist. Walk around without a destination, see the sights, take a few pictures. The area is so fun and alive. Then we booked a sunset cruise to end the day and they informed us that we could bring our own food/drink. We decided on the indulgence of a milkshake and a Balboa bar. For the milkshake, we went with a Salted Caramel. Delightful and creamy. You can definitely tell it was made with real ice cream, but just pretty good. The surprising standout was the Balboa bar. We got to choose from milk chocolate or dark chocolate (we went dark) then had it dipped in sprinkles: 1) because we had a kid with us; and 2) because we are really just big kids at heart and everyone need a few sprinkles in their lives. The chocolate casing around the ice cream was thick and delicious. We ended up fighting over this one. Thankfully, no one went overboard on the cruise but next time I'm not sharing!Prices were higher than a standard ice cream shop, but about what you'd expect for premium ice cream at a picturesque beach-front boutique ice cream parlor. Not much in the way of seating, but we were taking ours on a boat so that didn't bother us at all. Service was a little frazzled, but I think that we just got there around a shift change so I'm willing to give a little grace on that point, and wouldn't hesitate to come back again!

Stopped by with my family earlier today for an ice cream and met one of the new owners. She couldn't have been sweeter if she tried. It is so AWESOME that a young couple has taken over this business. As a local for over 50 years who worked on the ferry in my teens, it's amazingly cool to see a younger generation take over a business that allows locals to keep simple and long lasting family traditions alive. Way to go new owners!!! We will be back weekly for your great ice cream and positive vibes!

Ice cream - very solidGood choices - so yummyStaff is off-putting as flippity. Sour faces, apathetic, glacial service. I didn't want to ask them for anything.We may peek in again if the staff seems changed - otherwise we'll try another ice cream spot.

This is perfect after an afternoon at the fun zone or the beach. There's a variety of ice cream flavors to choose from. I opted for my go-to: butter pecan on a waffle cone. I need to order the Balboa Bar and/or the Frozen Banana when I get back. They also have soda floats and coffee if that's what you're looking for. There was a line when we got there but service was fast.

We came here after our light cruise to get our god daughter a scoop and they were beyond amazing. They have complimentary birthday candles and they even lit it for our god daughter. Very friendly and made it a great little experience

Ordered the legendary Balboa Bar! It was busy but not overly crowded and there's plenty of community seating in the little shopping area. Service was quick and excellent. The bar was delicious and so fresh--it's also MASSIVE! They also don't skimp on the toppings so it can end up being pretty dense! Recommend sharing!

Slowest service with the worst attitude. Owners need to check your workers. Place is trash.
