The only way I can give 5 stars to a Corner Bakery is if I have the whole cafe to myself.Wow, did that really just happen? If you've been following me on this review platform, you'll know that I've been saying that Corner Bakery has been on the decline ever since COVID. Prices had been going up, but the quality had been going down. I had been hoping for at least a 4 star visit, but it seemed the only way for me to do that is to visit a location in Texas lol.Until now. This Corner Bakery in Santa Ana is located in City Place just east of where the 22 meets the 5. It's easier to arrive going eastbound on 22 or northbound on 5. There's another Corner Bakery in Santa Ana on Sunflower Ave, but that's all the way on the southern end of the city; this location is on the northern end of the city, and they're about 15 minutes away from one another.City Place is just on the other side of Main St from Mainplace Mall. It's an L-shaped strip mall with Olive Garden on the north end and Mother's Market & Kitchen on the east end. Corner Bakery is on the west side of the plaza between FedEx and Olive Garden.I arrived shortly after 7:30 PM on a Wednesday evening, and I saw only one person inside; an employee, Jonathan, was sweeping the floor during his down time.I went up to the register, and he was ready to take my order. I knew what I wanted ahead of time because I wanted to redeem my quarterly $5 off $15 reward, which I usually redeem by ordering a Choose Two. A Choose Two today is $14.99, so at least one of my entrees had to be premium for me to use my reward. Before, my go-to Choose Two would be the Chicken Rosa Pasta and Shrimp Scampi Linguine with a side of Mixed Greens or Caesar Salad. This was back when a Choose Two was $12.99 and a premium upcharge was only $1.49. My go-to today would always include a Power Greens & Grains salad since it's the most expensive cafe-sized entree you could get that doesn't incur a premium upcharge. For my other entree, I chose the Shrimp Scampi Linguine over the Chicken Rosa Pasta since I just had the latter pasta from my local Corner Bakery Cafe a couple days prior. When Jonathan asked me what side I'd like to go with my Choose Two, I asked him to repeat the options, but instead of saying MIxed Greens and Caesar Salads, he simply said salad. So only one salad was offered? No, both were still offered here, and I went with the Caesar. Then, I noticed something odd."Is there a reason why your nametag is upside-down?" I asked Jonathan. He didn't even realize it, but we had a laugh about that. He was pretty cool at ringing me up.I asked Jonathan how long the wait would be, and he estimated about 6-7 minutes. It was actually 8 minutes, which was still kind of fast! With such ample dining space both inside and out, I had a hard time deciding where the best seat in the house was. I chose the round table at the very corner so I could have the best view of the cafe while I ate my dinner.I'm glad to report that everything tasted above par. Probably not an eagle, but definitely a birdie at least! The Caesar Salad was presented on a small plate with the dressing already on top, so I had to be careful to not spill any leaves or croutons on the table. But it was one of the better Caesar Salads I've had with the crisp lettuce and the ample dressing on top.I was also satisfied with my other salad, the Power Greens & Grains. I think this serving size was the largest I've gotten thus far! It was in the same size bowl as the Shrimp Scampi Linguine, but the Power Greens & Grains was close to full with a leaf or two trying to escape from the bowl. And the taste was slightly better than what I've had at the other locations.I generally find the Shrimp Scampi Linguine to be the most disappointing dish at Corner Bakery with respect to my expectations, but this was the best one I've had thus far with not nearly as much grease coating the pasta and dripping to the bottom of the bowl. The flavor was bolder, but not as bold as what my taste buds desired with probably a half dozen pieces of shrimp in the pasta. Nothing a little salt & pepper can't fix, though; those spice grinders really came in handy here! One other gripe I have is the water dispenser. I was trying to add water into my water cup, but the water button would get stuck, thus wasting water from the drink dispenser. I had to pull it out with moderate force to stop the waterfall. What a waste of water; luckily, I was able to save some for the sea creatures lol.I also noticed something unique about the utensils. They were plastic utensils as opposed to silverware. I got two plastic forks for my meal. With how hard of a reviewer I am, I probably would have given 4 stars, but I'll happily give a 5th star since I got the desired peace and quiet I needed after a long day of work. A family did come in at the tail end of my visit, but I was on the verge of heading out; hopefully that family enjoyed their meals as much as I did!

Went in yesterday for breakfast because I've been plunder the weather and wanted to try this place for the first time. I ordered a club sandwich and tomato soup.It was disgusting' soup tasted like marinara sauce. The sandwich was so basic and half assed. We also ordered the potato soup and the amount of cheese in it was ridiculous. The latter tasted like the milk was spoiled. We ordered a soft drink and not only did they not have ice but ALLL 3 drinks were flat. When we gave up I decided to get water instead then realized the button wasn't working. We left our food don't recommend this place at all.Honestly the service sucked too!!

Things here have downhill and probably won't return again I got the 2 for $14.99 deal The cashier told me I can mix any 2 items 1 got 1/2 sandwich and small portion of pasta Not only did they UPCHARGE me, the food was SLOPPY put together and definitely not worth the $18!!! If you look at my receipt, even the latte has an up charge for 2 pumps of vanilla. It was more than Starbucks & not good $30 for overpriced, small portions and not good. Won't be back. Prices are ridiculous

The service was slow, to order at the counter. The patio is comfortable and casual but has considerable traffic noise.

Great bakery! Used them for our 6th grade graduation this morning and they came bright and early with our order of muffins and coffees for the parents. We had lots of time to set up and set them out. They were nice and fresh. The coffee was nice and strong! Happy they have delivery, highly recommend for delivery, dine in or take out! You can never miss with Corner Bakery at your service!

Service was great, place was clean, and establishment is presentable. This review is for the foo; poor taste, portions are like school lunch sizes, and the quality taste as if it's been sitting for a while. I don't remember this establishment to be this way. Did I expect a restaurant size, no not at all. However, more than I received.

Horrible service and food. My sandwich was mostly mayonnaise and I spent 16 dollars for cookies that were harder than rocks.

Sullen and disengaged staff, dirty tables, and unkempt restroom. We'd have cleaned our own table but the staff couldn't be bothered to look at us. Probably understaffed. I've always liked Corner Bakery but.....

Dirty floor, numerous tables with trash & dishes, empty tables that had no trash or dishes so much so that we had a hard time finding a clean table to sit at. It's not like they were busy, just lazy staff with bad management for sure. I ordered the Tomato Basil soup & 1/2 Tuscan Grilled Cheese but there's really no cheese in it (see photo) and it could not be any smaller. Seriously Corner Bakery, FIFTEEN DOLLARS for this amount of food is shocking, even in these times when everything costs more. You can go almost anywhere else, including a full-service restaurant and get a much more substantial meal for the same amount or less! Then, the food was terrible, soup was awful with stale croutons. I didn't bother trying the sandwich cuz at that point I knew I was returning it for refund. I also got a pecan square that was somehow melting!?!? Returned that too. The person I came with didn't want to complain so she didn't tell me her soup tasted old til we'd left. I will not be back, at least not to this location!

We came to have dinner and not only the cashier with colored hair was not friendly and walked away before taking our order, but the place is a mess. Tables are dirty and with dishes from previous customers. The soda machine is not dispensing ice. It was our first time coming and definitely not coming back.
