What a fabulously fun find!! To date, we've visited on Sunday afternoons, delighted to happen upon entertainment! The nostalgic exterior belies the invitingly warm, comfortable, and dimly-lit interior. There are a variety of seating options: bar top; high top tables along one wall; booths along the other wall; low tables; as well as limited seating outside.A pool table sits behind the bar, before the back wall which opens to a spacious outdoor lounging area, where one can purchase limited but tasty Mexican food items. The bartenders are absolutely great: friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, creative, and efficient! Fun, laid-back locals vibe. This bar definitely is among our favorites! Heads-up: parking is limited.

Club 616 is a laid-back lounge bar that is also supposedly Santa Ana's oldest bar. The entrance to the bar is inconspicuous and unassuming but when you walk in you are transported into an intimate scene with a different vibe. They have an outdoor patio in the back with a stall serving Mexican food and a free pool table inside. My first drink was the sinister biscuit ($16) which had strong bourbon flavors but the sweet cream balanced it out. My second drink was the not without danger ($18) which was potent and tiki-like with the passionfruit and lime. They have happy hour deals everyday which also include some deals on the food outside. We went on a Friday which were discounts on mulitas (2 for $5) and they were pretty good.Just beware that the immediate areas outside of the bar can be a little sketchy but once you get inside you are safe. Be aware of your surroundings!

Parking is horrible. I arrived at about 9:30 and couldn't find parking. I eventually found parking about a mile away just to stand in line.I stood in line for about 45 minutes. If it wasn't for a friend's bday, I would have left. I understand capacity restrictions due to safety concerns but you would think as people left, they would let people in. Every 10 customers that walked out, security would only let in 3 people standing in line. It's not a Las Vegas club. Let people in!!When I entered, the place was not full at all.I tried getting food but it was gone at about 12:30.Once inside, the place was nice.

We recently visited Club 616 and were surprised by how cozy and lively the place is. They have an impressive variety of drinks and the bartenders clearly know their craft. Whether you're into classic cocktails, beers, or unique house creations, there's something for everyone.Another unexpected gem was the taqueria stand just outside in their backyard space. We snagged some amazing nachos during happy hour for only $5, and they were honestly some of the best nachos I've had in a while--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned.Speaking of happy hour, this place really nails it. They offer amazing deals every day, but what's cool is that the specials change depending on the day of the week. The highlight, though, was the live jazz music that set the perfect mood for the evening. It's not very often you find a spot where you can enjoy great music, amazing drinks, and a laid-back yet vibrant environment.Whether you're looking for a chill hangout spot or a place to start your night, Club 616 is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back soon--probably for more nachos.

Came here to celebrate November birthdays with some coworkers. Super cool to have visited an establishment that has been "serving Santa Ana since 1928".We arrived around 9p, so there wasn't a line outside. The security staff were friendly and welcoming (humbled to still get carded...LOL!). I could only imagine how cool this place must have looked like back in 1928, so fast forward to 2024, the interior was very inviting, dimly lit, with plenty of table and booths inside. There is a spacious patio outside with a DJ playing good music, taco guys serving up some delicious grinds, and a talented local artist doing her thing! The drinks were refreshing and overflowing! Awesome seeing a diverse crowd in there with the common denominator being a great time! Would definitely come back here again!CHEERS till next time!

A bar with a lot of history. Apparently it's Santa Ana's oldest bar, dating back to 1928. They did a really great job renovating the space. The bar gives a speakeasy vibe - dimmed lights, a little mysterious, but inviting to enjoy some crafted drinks and small bites all in good company. There's seating surrounding the bar from small tables to comfy booth seating. If you want to get away from the crowd, there's an outdoor patio with limited seating and plenty of standing space. Try to get the cozy area with the fireplace. Now to the most important thing - the drinks! We ordered:- The 616 Firing Squad: Milagro blanco tequila, lime, hibiscus, ginger, angostura, soda. Although it has fewer ingredients than other listed cocktails, this one was my favorite. It had a bright citrus flavor, easy to drink, and light. I wanted to substitute the tequila with a resposado tequila that didn't change too much of the cocktail. The bartender was incredibly sweet and even let me tried his recommended one to see if I liked it before adding it to my drink. I'm always open to trying new recommended tequilas, and am glad I got to add a new one to my list. - Temple of the Forbidden Rye: Mint infused dickel rye, hamilton pimento dram, velvet falernum, pineapple, lime, ginger, angostura. You'll definitely taste the mint for this drink. It's like an elevated version of a combination between a moscow mule and mojito with whiskey. The pineapple flavors gave it a slight fruity taste I love. - In Memo Random: Nikka gin, yellow charteuse, femet menta, strawberry clove, passion fruit, angostura, rosemary, tonic. Light, refreshing, and passion fruit flavor. If you like gin based drinks, you'll like this one. - Winter River: Askkur gin, amaro di angostura, lemon, passion fruit, cane, angostura, rosemary. My second favorite drink of the night! It's a fruit forward passion fruit drink with a nice balance of ingredients and flavors, served in a martini glass. They light up the rosemary, which plays into your senses and taste profile as you take each sip. - Come Mister Tally Man: Flor de cana, tempis fugit creme de banana, smith & cross, cinnamon, angostura, firewater. If you want a break from your typical old fashions, get this! It's deep, strong, complex enough, and has a subtle sweetness. Few choices for food located in the outdoor patio such as tacos, burritos, nachos, mulitas, and quesadillas with your choice of meat (al pastor, asada, pollo, birria, cabeza...). Nothing too special here, but gets the job done if you're craving some bites. I recommend getting the asada nachos ($10) - comes with chips, cheese, guacamole, sour cream. You can add onions, cilantro, jalapenos, and a variety of salsas too. They have random events throughout the week. For example, we came here on a trivia Thursday night. I'll definitely come back to check out their jazz Wednesdays. Bartenders are friendly and helpful in making your selections. Highly recommended if you enjoy a crafted cocktail with good vibes.

Club 616 was recommended to us by a friend. It is located a few blocks from downtown Santa Ana and has a recent renovation, making it an appealing venue. Upon arrival, we experienced a short wait outside, which was manageable. The establishment features an indoor area with multiple booths and an outdoor patio equipped with several seats and heaters for cooler evenings. On Friday nights, they have a DJ providing music. Additionally, there are food vendors on the patio, though it's unclear whether they rotate or if the same vendor is present each weekend. As for the drinks, they are visually appealing; however, at a price point of $16 each, I expected the taste to be more satisfying, which unfortunately was not the case. It's disappointing, especially given the venue's charm.

The bartenders are amazing! Very attentive and they make their drinks tasty using good quality ingredients and they come out quick! Lots of bartenders to help everyone so you're never waiting for a drink. They have a taco tent set up in the back so if you're hungry, grab some tacos and bring it back to your table. All the patrons are also super friendly and nice. Parking situation is not the best and be careful, lots of homeless just camping out but they seem to be friendly folks. I just wished this establishment was in an area where there are other restaurants and establishments so that I can walk around afterwards. But overall a great spot in Santa Ana and they remodeled during Covid so it's a great spot to grab drinks before or after dinner

Great local bar, cool vibe, excellent bartenders, different DJ's spinning fantastic eclectic music, live jazz music on Wednesday nights. Especially like the DJ's spinning old school 60's garage, spanish garage rock and other 60's gems. They should definitely have them (Ricky, Alex, Alberto) back.
