Absolutely love the convenience of this new location. It's located in an unassuming plaza, with plenty of parking and seating. The shop itself is the largest out of the others, and I think they're planning on opening a new location soon as well.Absolutely looooove their pain au chocolates and opera cakes, but you honestly can't go wrong with any of their cakes or pastries.Their fresh orange juice is sensational

Their strawberry Danish and strawberry tart were so good that I came back two days in a row just for them! The croissant is also very good - light, flaky, buttery, and perfectly chewy with a golden-brown crust. The staff is super friendly, and each time I visited, they put a few extra pastries with my purchase, which was such a nice touch. Plus, parking is super easy, there's a large lot with plenty of space. Definitely a great spot!

Chaupain has become one of my favorite bakeries for croissants. This location recently opened up in Newport Beach! Thank goodness! The location in Laguna Hills is small. Parking is plentiful here, since it's shared with Pavilions. When you step foot inside the bakery, you're greeted with a whole array of pasteries. Everything looks tempting, but don't go overboard! The croissants are amazing here! One bite, and it melts in your mouth! The croissants are super flakey and filled inside to the brim. My favorite is the pistachio croissant. There's not a lot of seating inside the store, but don't worry! There are plenty of tables outside to enjoy your pasteries. I also ordered their sunrise croissant for brunch. Every bite was delicious, and had so much flavor. Service was nice, and they did their best to move the line along. I can't recommend this bakery enough!

Omelette 9.52/10- this French style omelette was so good! They made it with gruyere cheese, lamb sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers and spinach - all the ingredients complemented each other so well. The cheese was perfectly melty and mixed with the lamb sausage, it added such unique flavor. The breakfast potatoes on the side were seasoned well and perfectly crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. Quiche 9.47/10- I'm actually not a fan of quiches but this one was incredible! The combination of mushroom, bacon, and leek worked so well together, and I loved how the inside was super fluffy while the exterior had this perfect crisp that gave it such a nice texture. It came with a side salad that was delicious and I loved the lemon dressing they put on it.Pistachio Croissant 9.54/10- this was honestly amazing! I heard this bakery is incredibly popular for their croissants, specifically their pistachio one, and I understand the hype. The croissant was huge and so perfectly flaky. The pistachio paste inside was super fresh and had so much flavor. I loved how they topped it with crushed pistachios which added such a nice crunch!Opera Cake 8.43/10- this classic French layered cake was really good. The chocolate ganache on top was super rich and I loved how you could see all the different layers. You could really taste the coffee flavor in it which I enjoyed.Fruit Tart 4.32/10- this was pretty disappointing. The custard in the middle was good but they put way too much whipped cream on top which just overwhelmed everything. The raspberries weren't fresh at all and the tart shell wasn't very flavorful either.I was recommended to go to Chaupain Bakery and I'm so glad that I got around to trying it as it was pretty good. They have a huge array of pastries to choose from. The service was great as well. Expect a long line- but it definitely moves fast! They forgot about our quiche for a while but it wasn't too bad as when we inquired about it, they brought it out quite quickly.Instagram: @hungrytamale

Love this place so much! I would go here everyday if I could. We got a few baked goods: Jalapeno Cheese Croissant, Ham & Cheese Croissant, Everything Croissant, and two Cinnamon Cream Cheese twists. Each croissant was delicious, but I especially loved the Jalapeno one. I also don't usually like anything cinnamon, but it super yummy/had a perfect balance of the cinnamon and cream cheese. The service was also amazing. They offered us samples, shared what their favorites were, and answered all of our questions (super helpful since it was our first time). There is also a lot of seating (inside and outside) available, and it was very clean. Can't wait to go back and try other items, especially the sandwiches!

Excellent bakery. Kouign amanns have become so popular. It seems like every place has their version of one and if they do, I try it. Many fail to come close to what a kouign amann should be but not Chaupain. For me, a kouign amann needs to be crispy and flaky on the outside with a generous crackle of sugar but buttery and tender on the inside, almost wet like almond filling. The execution here is near perfection. They definitely have the nicest flaky layers of any that I've tried. The other ones on my top list come from Bread Lounge and Sugar Bloom. Check those out if you're a fan. Also want to mention their Paris Brest pastry is fantastic. Somehow they manage to make this hazelnut cream both rich and dense yet light and fluffy at the same time. The sweetness is also perfect in that it is not overwhelming for the amount of cream that is there. It's nothing short of magical and the pastry has that nice bumpy cracked texture. It's almost like a giant macaron on steroids but better if that's possible. We also tried other pastries and they're all delicious. This place is worth making the trip down to OC for. Take home some bread too!

This place is cute and has a great outdoor area with tables. Bathrooms are clean and the service was friendly. They have a great selection of pastries. My MIL loved her lemon tart. My husband liked his tiramisu but said the lady fingers were so soaked that it was just a mushy texture. The Paris Brest was good but giant. It had a little too much filling but the craquelin was the best part. The chocolate mousse cake was absolutely dreamy and decadent and I would absolutely get again. I would definitely come back and would love to eat lunch here. The only bad part is how the desserts were packaged to go. It was in a large box and they slid around and smushed into each other.

Yum yum yum!!!!! All the pastries I've tried are delicious. I've tried their almond croissant, their cinnamon twist and their Nutella Cruffin. They are all delicious. I can't wait to have lunch there soon. It is definitely a nice bakery for the area. It is always packed every time I come.

Arrived here somewhat early on Sunday morning, people lined up already, plenty of outside tables and a few inside too. Ordered our food and it came out quick, nice size portions too, good food, great coffee, staff is really friendly maybe with one small exception, I referred to a danish as a croissant or vice versa and was immediately reprimanded by some girl (not the main one who looked to be the manager), but felt the need to shout across her workstation "that's a danish not a croissant OK?". Easy there! Thought it was humor but evidently not lol. Because I smiled and was met with the 'air out of a tire' sound effect psssh lol. Anyways, good spot to come n eat, have coffee and just remember brush up on your bakery vocabulary.
