Charlie's Chili

Always love Charlie's Chili when visiting NB! Had brunch there our last visit on a Sunday morning and man, it was better than I remember lunches there in past visits. We had a table of 8 at 10:00 on a Sunday morning on the patio and our waitress (I forgot to remember her name for this review! :() was attentive and really wonderful! It has a "diner" feel on the inside, but clean and comfy! The patio is wonderful, being on the boardwalk just off Newport Pier. The chili!!! It's so good!! My nephew ordered the chili omelette and omg!! We all shared the chili cheese fries and OMG! The chili y'all! We live in Texas and I've been dreaming of Charlie's Chili since we came home two weeks ago! lol I had the classic eggs Beni and it didn't disappoint. I forget what everyone else had, but everyone was very happy! Kind, casual, attentive, friendly service! A must visit!And don't forget to get the chili cheese fries!

Came here on a Monday morning with my parents and had a fantastic time! I thought this place would be a typical tourist trap next to the beach, but the prices and quality of the food were comparable, dare I say better, to other brunch areas I've been to in the OC. We sat inside this time to avoid the cold, but I bet sitting outside and seeing the ocean while eating would be even nicer. I ordered a steak and eggs while my parents ordered their Popeyes omelet and the eggs Benedict florentine. The steak and eggs and Popeyes omelet came with sourdough toast, which came out nicely toasted and buttered with a selection of jams to spread. The food came out pretty quickly, and I was really surprised by the size, flavor, cook on the steak (perfectly medium rare, a bit bloodier which I love). The hashbrowns were also thinly sliced in a way I haven't seen before, and the texture was just amazing. My parents reportedly enjoyed their dishes as well, especially the amount that was given (they both only ate half). Molly and the other waitstaff were very welcoming and fantastic in keeping my parents' coffees and our waters topped up, and we had a very pleasant time here. Would highly recommend as a casual and sweet little brunch place!

Hungry after a long night, I didn't get a picture until I had already started at it. I was having some stomach issues and didn't want anything to heavy. I figured the avocado toast would be a safe option. It was yummy, the bread was a bit dry. Had tons of very fresh avocado, probably as thick as the bread itself. Wish it came with some seasoning but I made do with the table salt and pepper. I also had some sausage links, they were juicy and huge. Cooked well and had that satisfying snap to them. The staff members where super friendly and the restaurant itself seemed updated and modern, as well as clean which is sometimes a rare luxury on a beach. My sister and my mom got breakfast burritos, they both only ate half and had to save the rest for later but thoroughly enjoyed them! Just a really big portion size.

Started coming here when I was a kid with my mom 40ish years ago? Still a hit. Nice spot to hit with the bikes as you can park right next to the table.We got lucky and the entertainment from the boardwalk was really great, made the already awesome environment even better.Service is great, fast, attentive. Prices are reasonable especially for a meal with an ocean view. Food is really good and portions are pretty big. My buddy did order the half order of biscuits and gravy and complained it was small, but he ordered the half order so I think he messed up. LOL He did say it was good gravy and thats how he likes to judge a spot. haha

Well, I can tell you it's not the same. It was when I used to go there a lot went there today. The service was terrible. She didn't give me any silverware. Didn't give me a refill my soda. I had to go get my own chili sauce Garlic bread is a piece of toast that looks so on appealing the garlic was burnt on top, the chili was like asphalt. It had to thick it appearance of it. I think they gave me the worst of the worst. I would not recommend this place. It used to be a great place used to be. Fun. Service was fantastic. The girls there were really friendly. the girl that worked there today, there wasn't a soul in there eating and she couldn't even take care of on a on basis. I left no tip totally unsatisfied.

Parking - We walked to this restaurant, but passed a parking lot that looked like it required payment since it's right on the beach.Food - Since they advertise the best chili omelette, I had to try it. It was good, but I don't know that I'd order it again. I like a more hearty chili and I didn't get that. Maybe they needed to put more chili inside? The serving of breakfast potatoes was on the small side, so I hope they increase the portions.Service - It was a seat yourself situation and we chose to sit outside. Service was quick, but we had some challenges getting refills on water.Ambiance - Be aware that if you sit outside, there will probably be lots of birds trying to find food left out. It didn't bother me, but wanted to make others aware.

Food is amazing! Love the taste of beans with the chili. I am excited for surfer's burrito that I haven't tried yet.surfer burrito was amazing the salsa made this food perfect!

Food is so delicious esp the potatoes on the plate and sausages workers are very happy accommodating employees the place is very clean me and my son sat inside. Food taste fresh
