I thought I was walking in to Chako's to drop off a business card to possibly DJ there. The flashing lights zapped my eyes when I made the entrance; I only made it halfway (?) to the bar before Jacob (a consultant for and friend of the bar) pulled me aside for some decidedly light hearted conversation under the lasers and lights at Chako's.Jacob asked who I was etc., and then proceeded to discuss his cultural background, joke extensively about planing events, music, and self promotion. He flagged down Abraham, the lead bartender, during his jocular talk with me & ordered two whiskeys. I drank shot number 1. Jacob asked me countless riotously funny questions about DJing. For example: Do I have tons of ladies following me 24/7 because of all the dope beats I play, etc.? I said that DJing does not quite work like that, and he said then you need to play more bangers, party jams etc. (He laughed or smiled during 99% of the conversation--a total comedian.) He began explaining that he sells happiness & experiences, but before he could finish the thought he got distracted by a golden retriever a regular had in their booth. Jacob started bobbing and weaving in front of the golden retriever. The dog leapt into a full blown play fight with Jacob. Jumping at Jacob's chest and faux chomping his wrists whenever Jacob threw a jab at the dog. A miniature mock prize fight unfolded between hound and man as the party lights danced about them. A risible spectacle.Jacob stopped playing with the dog, returned to the bar, and ordered himself and me a second shot of whiskey. He swiftly downed his glass. I paused with mine for a moment, so he offered me a generous handful of orange slices from the bar. I ate the oranges and drank the shot. Before the conversation could resume, someone from the staff asked to speak with Jacob for 5 minutes. The team member and Jacob both walked to a more private section of Chako's.I shifted my attention to Abraham. Thanked him for the drinks. Abraham maintained an extremely stoic and professional demeanor. I shook hands with Suzy, a manager, on my way out. Then I made my way to the main exit. What a bar.

This place has been a high interest for my girl's & I as downtown Fullerton is our usual spot for weekend fun. With Chako's in the heart of the city it truly was disappointing that our 1st time there for a R&B galantine brunch was a total let down. We reserved days ahead for this event. Only for our table to be given to another party before we arrived. We showed up on time @1:15 & our reservation was for 1:30. We waited another hour only for no available table to be available to us. We texted Curtis for our promised refund. We already KNEW he wouldn't come through with his word. Yet we still tried communicating with him. No communication led us to dispute the charge through our bank. He should have committed to making the situation right. Instead of having to deal with the run around. As a "General manager" you should know how handle your own events when they aren't going great. If you don't know how to manage your own club then maybe think twice about your position. You can't be holding such title when it clearly is too heavy for you. Also, the restrooms stayed filthy with all the soaps just thrown on the sinks & not in the soap dispensers. How are people suppose to eat with their hands not washed properly?! It's a call for the health inspection to come through since food is being served there. My girl's & I walked on over to Kalavera's & they took great care of us. The atmosphere was definitely a vibe & food was amazing. Their restrooms were clean. It was brought to our attention that it will be opening up as a night club in the near future with 3 dance floors & a back patio.I wouldn't be surprised they take out Chako's! Take better care of your customer's! Because, it is unfortunate when the hype of an establishment is really misleading.

As I write this review. I will start out with saying that I just don't believe that this place has wonderful potential and the atmosphere seemed great. I just don't believe they were staffed properly to deal with an influx of parties on Valentine's weekend. Our reservations were at 1:30, which we promptly arrived only to be greeted with an hour wait time and no time frame as to when we would be seated. The staff seemed to be inexperienced to deal with the matter and parties were taken out of order or they were over booked. To charge $10 per person for brunch and to never be seated was insane!!! The manager Curtis was very apologetic but for women that drove 30 minutes and were very hungry. Apologies don't do much. We were able to get drinks at the bar which my friends loved. I may give this place a try again. Maybe not on a weekend that is not so busy. Hopefully they don't over book again or get their wait staff more trained.

I visited this place..and honestly, it was a mess. The food was alright--nothing special, but not terrible either... The atmosphere was far from enjoyable. They had way too much going on: UFC fights on, basketball games on, a DJ playing, and on top of that, piano music in the background. It felt chaotic and overwhelming rather than lively. If you're looking for a fun or focused experience, this isn't the place...

We had a good experience at this restaurant! We ordered a burger with Asian sauce wings, and both were good. The service was good the staff were attentive and kind. Luckily, we arrived right when they opened, so it wasn't busy. The only downside is the limited parking, which can be a bit tricky.

If you are looking for party vibes and brunch this is the spot. The brunch menu is small but the food was really good. I got the French toast which was good and I love that it came with eggs and a protein. I also got to try the Chilaquiles with green salsa which has a good flavor and a little spicy. I loved the bottomless mimosas and the big screen tvs showing the football games!

Came here to try out their $10 endless tacos. They were great. We added the bacon potato skins, those were my fave. So many great crafted cocktails to try but the Hennessy strawberry lemonade and Hennessy margarita were my favorite. It wasn't packed but should've been. The music was on point. It's right on the corner. Dope spot for real. There's inside and outside seating.
