Cha Redefine

This is one of my recent go-to places! It's located in south coast plaza near some of their other eateries. There's usually a line but the orders come out fast! My favorite drink from here is definitely their black sesame matcha latte. I've gotten it both hot and iced. Both ways are delicious! Their black sesame flavor really comes through. I highly recommend!

OVERALL: I find myself coming to Cha Redefine a lot when I'm craving a good tea-forward drink versus a sweeter "dessert" type of drink. Their drinks are all made using fresh ingredients -- no syrups or powders. I usually default to a few of their best seller drinks, and they're always consistent on flavor / taste. This location is in the busy South Coast Plaza so there tends to be a line, but it moves quickly and the staff are pretty efficient at churning out orders. It can get busy and loud here since it's in a food hall, so be prepared if you come during peak hours!PARKING: Located on the Lower Level of the Collage Food Hall where Bloomingdale's is. This is inside a mall so you can technically access it no matter where you parked for mall, but I usually park where the Food Hall is so that I get to it directly without needing to walk through the mall if I'm not planning on shopping that day. FOOD/DRINKS: Strawberry Green Tea w boba - can be tart if getting less sweet, but I didn't mind. I added some boba which brought a bit of sweetness back while still keeping the green tea present Peach Chappuccino - peach tea with a light foam on top, like how you'd imagine foam on a cappuccino -- v refreshing; I really like their peach drinks!

Finally giving them another try after the first two disappointments.Order a Mochi Mango with crystal boba today. Even with 50% less sugar, it was still a bit too sweet for me.I usually love mochi but the mochi that they put in this tea is more like a mochi paste and not mochi balls. I didn't really like it. It tasted kind of gummy and weird so I told them and they made another cup without the mochi paste and it was so much better.Definitely more visits now when I'm at the mall.

While traveling on a business trip to Irvine, I spent some of my free time at the South Coast Plaza and found this boba tea shop located on the lower level of the Bloomingdale's store. Cha Redefine was a great find and I absolutely loved the Matcha Tornado drink. It was made with ceremonial grade matcha, taro paste, coconut milk. Wow wow it was so good. Loved it.

Went here on a weekend afternoon and it was a little busy but it's what's to be expected at a mall on the weekends. Regardless, our drinks still came out relatively quick! I got the fresh strawberry green tea with agar boba! I thought the drink was very refreshing! I didn't adjust the sweetness and I thought that it was just the right amount sweetness! The agar boba was a nice topping to add to it as well!

The in-person order line went all the way to Bloomingdales so I ordered online and browsed the mall in between. I got a matcha iced latte, whole milk with cream foam. At 75% sweet, the matcha latte itself is barely sweet but I didn't mind. You could've told me it was 50% sweet and I would've believed you. The foam on top adds a touch of vanilla flavor. Matcha itself wasn't powdery or gritty, but matcha flavor itself is not strong or tasty. For $6.25, the matcha latte was okay overall- it's nothing to write home about.

This place has it down! They had a long line but it moved quick. They have a large but not overwhelming menu with descriptors to better understand. The service was pretty quick and efficient, the drinks come out beautifully and taste so good! The boba was perfectly chewy with consistent size and chew - which I've come to appreciate as more subpar places have popped up. The Taro Taro was great with soft taro chunks in it and yummy flavor. And the ambiance of the food court is very fun.

Not bad, slightly above average overall! Tried the taro taro and the Sri Lanka Ceylon milk tea. The taro taro is a fresh milk with taro paste and boba, which tasted as expected so couldn't go wrong! The boba was a good texture. The Sri Lanka Ceylon milk tea was mild-ish in tea taste, I like my milk teas to be strong in tea flavor but still milky in consistently (enough to stick to the tongue, that's my standard!) and it was a bit on the watery side but it wasn't terrible. While not mind blown, I wouldn't be mad with either of these drinks. Interested in trying their soft serve! Cute little layout in the food court, I think this is a nice add to the mall. Would get something if I was in the mall again.

Sri lanka ceylon latte with boba (0% sweet, oatmilk): 5/5! Really good!! I loved the pecan toppings and wish there were more ahhh so so good. Matcha tornado (100% sweet): 4/5 this was really good too! I love that they used real taro. I wish the matcha was stronger but overall i enjoyed it. Service is usually quick and the line isn't too long

Terrible customer service. I purchased 3 drinks that I was bringing home for my kids on a 30 minute drive. I asked for a bag to put the drinks in to keep it cold, since it was hot today. The first worker said yes but got vetoed by her superior. I got regular flimsy tray holders. Had to hold my drinks all the way home. I even tipped them on my drinks. Will not come here again since they are so cheap.
