Had the most wonderful evening and meal at CEST la vie last night in Laguna Beach. The vibe was so comfortable the service wonderful, (thank you Nick!), the Seafood Ravioli, (Nick's excellent recommendation), was amazing and the view spectacular! Can't wait to go back!

Best service ever! Nick was amazing! At first, my kids were a bit disappointed with the menu, but Nick welcomed us warmly and encouraged them to give it a try. Thanks to him, my kids ended up loving the whipped butter and the baguette so much that he brought more for them! They also ended up loving the shrimp scampi, and the pasta from the kids' menu was on a whole other level compared to the usual kids' options. The Cajun seafood was excellent, and I enjoyed every bite. Nick came to our table at the end with a big smile, so happy to see how much my kids ended up enjoying the food.Thank you, Nick, for the amazing service and for making our dining experience unforgettable!

Lovely View, Good PotentialToday, we visited C'est La Vie to enjoy a meal with a beautiful beach view, and the ambiance did not disappoint. We opted to sit outside on the balcony, where the scenery was stunning and despite the occasional wind this day, truly set a relaxing tone for our outing. While it took some time to get situated with the outdoor heater, the manager ultimately accommodated our request, and we appreciated our server's effort to make us comfortable despite the initial back and forth with management.A special shoutout to you Stephanie W., who made sure we were well taken care of. Her friendly and professional demeanor added a positive note to our experience.Although there were a few hiccups during our visit, the breathtaking view and the potential for improvement make this spot worth possibly trying again. With some fine-tuning, C'est La Vie could truly shine as a go-to destination for a memorable dining experience by the beach.

I came on Christmas day and the food was extremely disappointing. I started with the green salad, which was soggy and drenched in balsamic dressing. It honestly looked like something thrown together from leftovers in the fridge. For the main courses, we ordered the Seafood Fettuccine Pasta and the Chilean Sea Bass, both of which were awful. Dessert was bad too. The bread pudding was cold on the inside and lukewarm on the outside, probably microwaved. The tiramisu was unimpressive and again tasted cheap. Even the ice cream and syrup tasted cheap, like Bryer's ice cream. The ingredients were clearly cheap, and everything felt like it was either thrown together without care or reheated in a microwave. The quality was that of a low-end buffet or diner, which would've been fine if this were a budget restaurant, but at this price point it's absolutely outrageous for a restaurant that claims to be gourmet. The service was fine. What you're paying for here is the view, which is beautiful, but it doesn't make up for the low-quality food disguised as high-end French cuisine. Save your money and go somewhere else. I think I would have been happier going to

We came in on a Sunday evening and were ignored by the tall skinny waiter who served the table that came in after us. He didn't even acknowledge that we were there before them or even try to give us a menu. The food is overpriced for what it is. We got a chicken piccata and chicken Caesar salad and margarita. The margarita was delicious the salad portion was generous but the entre was underwhelming for the price. They didn't have a wine menu which is odd since you would think a French restaurant would have a wine menu. The place needs an update, it feel like a retirement home and it smells like it too. The bakery looked good and busy so we might try it some day. We noticed the white lady server was a bit rude to some people she was serving and to the customers who would ask her a question. Idk some of the staff need an attitude check because some aren't friendly

I never in my life had a pastrie that tasted sooooo bad! I had the walnut pastry, and when I ate it I thought I thought they gave me the display plastic. Wtf!

First off I have to say that the view was great from the balcony outside. I had wonderful service by a server named nick. Gave me the best recommendations on the menu from appetizers to the wine. He knew the menu for the food and the wine like the back of his hand. He was hilarious and charming and made my visit one to remember. I ended up having the French onion soup which I absolutely loved. My girlfriend adored the dessert as well. It was the perfect anniversary date for my girlfriend and me. Thank you Nick, Abraham, Pedro, and all the chefs at C'est la vie for making us feel welcomed and appreciated.
