Incredible! The spicy chicken and spicy beef is amazing. Tons of flavor and super juicy. Juice squirts out so make a hold before biting. Absolutely delicious.

I have been a customer of Cali Pie Guy for a few years now since I moved to the OC. His stall is very visible at my local farmer's market so I can find him quickly! The owner is very chill and nice which is why I go to him every week that I can. The salteñas are so good and have plenty of soup/sauce inside the pastry. He has spicy and mild flavors. Run, get yourself a few or a dozen! They warm up pretty well for the next day, too! He also sells frozen salteñas if you like to indulge every day or parties!

I've been wanting to try this for a while and I finally did at the Irvine farmer's market at Mariner's church!They had 5 options - chicken, beef, spicy chicken, spicy beef, and vegetarian (I think - I cant remember since it was sold out). I asked the worker what she suggested and she recommended one of the beef, so I went with the normal beef since she said the spicy beef was about a 6/10 for spice. The one empanada was $5.The empanada was so nice and warm, and absolutely delicious! She warned that there was lots of sauce/juice inside, so to take little bites and be careful. She was right, it was filled with juice in the inside and it was so flavorful. The crust had a slight sweetness to it that paired perfectly with the meat filling. Would definitely eat this again and can't wait to try the others!

Bolivian Salteñas are by far the juiciest! Have you tried them yet?Cali Pie Guy takes the traditional meat pies up a few notches. Their unique flavors are bursting with the essence of Bolivia and its culture. They hand select and hand ground all their own meat, carefully measure their spices and they are oven baked at the Brea Farmers Market.I tried... Spicy Beef - not your classic beef Saltena. Slowly simmered in a special blend of spices but with an extra kick of chili pepper. Potatoes, carmelized onions, and a thick beef sauce. Regular Beef - without the chili pepper Flavors: Spicy Beef, Beef, Spicy Chicken, Chicken, and Vegan. Their spicy Vegan is available October - February.These meat pies have a crispy dough. Very juicy and flavorful! They do come out of the oven piping hot so be careful when taking your first bite Stop by their booth and pick up a few! You'll thank me later. I have known about this business (previously Saltena Corner) since 2017. They were always at HB's Tuesday night markets. Their empanadas are amazing! My personal favorite is the spicy beef. I love them so much that during COVID, I contacted him and he delivered about 40 frozen ones to my house lol. The owner is a SUPER NICE guy and the instructions to heat up is pretty easy. I'm glad to see the business still thriving!

TOTALLY DELICIOUS ! When we first visited this farmers market about 3 weeks ago I could not get over the long line of people waiting buy these Bolivian Meat Pies. DULY NOTED ! We had other plans for lunch that day but on Saturday this was gonna be our lunch stop. While my wife sat down at a bench in the shade with our haul of goodies I stood in line to grab some meat pies here. To me they look like an empanada. When my turn came I sort of suggested exactly that but the guy doing the cooking said....they taste better than an empanada. OKAY ! Even though I'm an Aussie import I've tried some darn good empanadas all over California. I wanted 1 x Spicy Beef, 1 x Beef and 2 x Chicken but they only had the one chicken meat pie left at that point until more were made so it was just the 3 for me. I paid by credit card which was $1 more than cash. FRIENDLY SERVICE ! I took them over to my wife where we munched happily away. The cashier lady did advise me to be careful as they have a lot of gravy liquid inside...more like an Aussie Meat Pie. WE LOVED 'EM !NOTE - Of course with over 22 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics in 2022 I can tell you what is great !

I had the Cali Pie Guys saltenas from the Mariner's Farmer's Market in Irvine, it was delicious! I couldn't decide on which flavors to try so I tried everything and there wasn't anything I didn't like. But my favorite ones where the spicy beef and chicken. They were so good! They also have frozen one so you can bring home and make them whenever you want them.

Grover makes the Best meat pies ever!! Like the Chinese soup dumplings, you are going to burn your mouth but totally worth it. If you never had a Bolivian meat pie, you are in for a treat.

These Bolivian Meat Pies, also known as Saltenas are juicy and succulent. However, at about $5 a piece, the price is pretty steep, even by today's standards. They are about the size of a mini cocktail croissant if that puts it into perspective.Spicy Beef and Spicy beef are my favorite, but they also have the regular beef and chicken that are also good.The service is great, and the food is made on site. Also, it's just a dude and his red tent, so can't say much about the ambiance.Anyway, just try it out and see if you think it's worth the price.

These people have figured out how to make delicious meat pies. I have always enjoyed them, but typically felt they're a bit dry when eating them. The Callie Pie Guy fills them with delicious sauce and that's all you need to know. Delicious and juicy. Get your napkins ready when eating them.
