Biryani Pot Express is a casual Hyderabad biryani place in Irvine, CA. There is plenty of parking in the lot in the complex and indoor seating for small groups. The waiters were super nice and brought us extra raita when we asked. The biryani came out pretty quickly, hot, full, and presented well. You can also order via Toasttab or with the cashier if you'd prefer. The biryanis were flavorful and authentic. The portions were good for sharing and were worth the price. The chicken biryani's masala sunk into the chicken well and the ratio of rice to meat was optimal. The gongura biryani was a little more spicy but in a good way. The meat was marinated and cooked well too. I'd definitely recommend coming if you're looking for a good biryani spot to put into your rotation!

Tasty fast-casual indian restaurant, but the naan could be improved. Cashiers were friendly and addressed any questions we had. Small, but clean restaurant, with ample parking. Got the butter chicken, which came with basmati rice ($16). The butter chicken curry was thick, creamy and delicious, perfectly paired with plain rice. I also got a garlic naan on the side, but wouldn't recommend this, as it was significantly more greasy than most naan I've had. Overall, a decent lunch spot in a convenient area.

If you're looking for a world-class biryani spot in Orange County, Biryani Pot Express is where it's at. Specializing in--you guessed it--biryani, their flavors are phenomenal, and they easily rank among the best biryanis I've had in the area. They're open late, which is a huge plus, and their lunch combos are a great deal. The butter chicken, while tasty, leans a little too sweet for my liking, and I'd say Natraj or Nina's has the edge when it comes to tikka masala. But if you're here for the biryani or find yourself in Irvine, this spot should be on your radar. The pricing is a touch steep, but they make up for it with a solid loyalty program that's worth signing up for if you plan on coming back (and trust me, you probably will).

The location is clean and bright with two television screens streaming Indian music videos. I ordered a couple of items, but want to focus this review on the Palak Paneer. I was surprised on how small the container was for $16.99 (not including tip). I almost laughed on the size when I opened up the bag. I felt like I overpaid for this dish. The spinach was really blended almost to the point of being frothy. The paneer cubes were soft and decent sized. I would not have ordered the dish if I knew the size of the container.

I've been coming to Biryani Pot Express for their lunch specials - $13.99 for veg and $14.99 for non-veg (chicken or goat). The lunch specials are a great deal and the non-veg can easily stretch two meals (or feed two people). I always order online and my food is ready for pickup.I order the non-veg chicken, which has a rotating entree (I've had chicken tandoori and Manchurian chicken), a small chicken curry, a small veg curry, naan, papad, a chicken biryani (which has two pieces of chicken in it), raita and dessert. I usually eat everything except the biryani and save it for another meal. This was the first time I've ever tried Manchurian chicken and it tasted like Chinese food! Some Indian restaurants are shy with spice, but the food here definitely has a kick! I am a spice weakling and have to drink a glass of milk. The veg lunch special is also good - with either a veg or paneer biryani. My only complaint is that the times I've been, they have a fried entree like pakoras. I'd rather have a larger serving of veg curry instead. Their veg curries are delicious! If you're thinking about coming here, definitely try the lunch specials!

Update: Called it in and they were kind enough to provide another item of the same value. I usually get the biryani and tried the goat pulav this time. It was also tasty which is why the 2 stars, but I found a hair in my food which makes me question the hygiene in the kitchen. I had to throw the rest away which is total waste of money.

Our fave Indian takeout at present! The curries are delectably flavorful and creamy- we've had the malai kofta, navratan korma, and butter chicken and thoroughly enjoyed them all. We've also enjoyed the biryanis. Onion pakoda are delightful- tasty, crispy, crunchy.

Tried this place during my business trip at Irvine. Ordered the goat biryani and Gulab jamun and I absolutely loved it. Got it delivered through Uber eats, so not sure about the quality of service or the ambience but the Biryani was exceptional! Must try!

"I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this restaurant. I have noticed a concerning lack of transparency in their pricing. The prices listed on the in-store menu and online platform are different from the final charge at the register is often different from both listed prices. This inconsistency raises serious questions about the integrity of the business practices. It appears that either the employees are intentionally misleading customers, or the management has implemented a flawed pricing system. As a customer, I expect honesty and transparency in pricing. I hope the management takes immediate action to address this issue and ensures that their pricing is accurate, consistent, and transparent across all platforms."
