Bay Poke

I doordashed from them considering they were #9 on the seafood list and I've got to say that they have fresh fish. I have poke 1-2 times per week so I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable. Although the house sauce and the fish were very delicious the avacado (which you have to pay extra for) was bad. It was dark and just tasted and looked in a way that ruined the taste of the fish. It was placed in a way that the darker pieces were hidden beneath the greener parts. I understand that I ordered almost around closing time but I'd recommend not adding avocados if you ran out of ripe and fresh ones. Especially since I saw there are a lot of negative reviews around the greens and avocados.The rice/greens come in a separate bowl than the other ingredients. It a personal opinion and taste that I like all the ingredients properly mixed and added on top so that the rice/greens soak up all the flavors and I think it's a great option to add. To sum up the fish and ingredients were delicious but more attention should be payed to the quality of greens/avocados.

The lady in pink hair really doesn't feel like doing her job today I guess. The whole ordering process was like bothering her and even the customer behind us done getting help with his order, smoothly, without being left on the side. At a poke place, I've always been helped from the beginning to check out and pay. Not at this place though, need to keep waiting and at the end, if I didn't say anything, the packed food will just be sitting there. Oh and after paid, the lady ran off and I needed to ask the lady to come back for the drink cup that we just purchased. Of course she gave me and my son an attitude again. Wow is she working too much? Probably should just stay at home and rest if not feeling well.

I just cannot sugar coat it. They must survive on location alone.tl;dr:good: I didn't diebad: multiple slimy rotten leaves in the spring mix, clumpy cheap rice, old sauces, cheap ingredients, staff appears tired and complacent like they just rolled out of bed. Maybe it's me, but when the people behind the counter appear to still be wearing their PJs, I begin to question what I'm about to eat. Fortunately or unfortunately a colleague offered to buy and picked the place.The verdict...I've had worse poke, but not by much. Salmon is the safest path at any poke place just due to logistics, cost, and demand - and it was fine enough for 3-4stars. It's all the other details that a lot of poke places stumble - this place included. Freshness and quality matters for all ingredients, and this place seems to have more ingredients than they can handle. Rotting veggies, old gross looking sauces, clumpy cheap rice, waxy cheap cucumbers.It all adds up to yuck.

This has to be my favorite poke place in Irvine. Their fish is always fresh and is better quality than other restaurants. I also love how diverse their menu is. A lot of other poke restaurants will only serve poke, but this place has boba, ramen, and they just added katsu and grilled salmon to their menu. I tried their pork katsu on my most recent visit and it was honestly amazing. The pork was cooked perfectly and the breading was very crispy. It came with a side of rice and salad, and even had two gyoza. I definitely think it was worth it for the price. Plus, they're currently doing a BOGO special, so I got two katsu for the price of one which was great. I also ordered the pork ramen which had 3 slices of pork and an egg. The pork had a smoky flavor and the egg yolk was the perfect texture. The broth was very flavorful and I liked how it was packaged separately so the noodles wouldn't get soggy.I think the service here is excellent. All the workers are really nice and they get my food out quickly. There's seating both inside and outside, but it can get pretty packed during lunch. Overall, I love the variety in their menu and I can't wait to try their other katsu dishes like the chicken katsu and shrimp katsu the next time I visit!

I went here after a trip to the doctor and they did not disappoint! I got a large bowl and they did not skimp on the protein! everything was fresh and made to order. The service was exceptional and they answered my questions on all of the drinks that they had available. I got a Thai tea with Boba and it was very good. I like the outdoor seating and the indoor seating was very nice too, but I decided to sit outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. definitely going to go back after another doctor's appointment.

When in doubt, I come here for lunch. They be packing my small bowl to the brim and I love it. Such a bang on your buck because the portion is big. Ingredients are all fresh and setting is clean. Top-notch service as well.

Poke was good, their octopus poke was really delicious and stood out. The workers were really nice and made recommendations on sauces and toppings when I got lost in all the choices. Small restaurant but plenty of outdoor seating nearby.

It's been awhile since I've had BayPoke but it was good, makes me wonder why I didn't come back.

The newly added tonkatsu is amazing ! The breaded cutlet was perfectly crispy, with a crunchy breadcrumb crust that paired beautifully with the slightly sweet cutlet sauce drizzled on top. It had a fantastic balance of flavor and texture.The salad was refreshing and crisp, with crunchy greens, cucumber, onions, and corn. It's all brought together with a light and flavorful gingery dressing. The gyoza was another highlight--golden brown and fried to perfection.The sides of pickled ginger and jalapeños added a nice punch of flavor to include with the cutlet, making the whole meal feel well-rounded. The service was outstanding and the meal came relatively quick. I'd definitely recommend trying this!

Bay poke has been a regular spot for me because they use higher quality ingredients than some of the other poke spots around, and you can really tell. I decided to try a new item last time. This picture is of the pork katsu but they also offer chicken and shrimp. I really enjoyed how crispy the katsu was and the flavors were excellent especially with the ginger and jalapeño. You get a great deal for the price with all the sides and rice included. I always recommend bay poke, once you try it you keep coming back. Especially now that they are adding new delicious options to their menu.
