Baran restaurant Review OMG I ran into this Persian cuisine restaurant accidentally middle of nowhere as I had friends visiting from AZ and as most Caucasians "LOVE" the Persian cuisine and it looked like a good place to meet friends halfway closer to their hotel they were staying atI was blown away by four aspects1 awesome food2 friendly and courteous service3 artistic classic Persian ambiance4 live music classic Persian & American/EuropeanIt's contemporary/modern elegant Persian style and art work But I was blown away by the friendly staff and food A little on the healthy side "for my taste" But you can fix that with butter:-) I'm sure if you ask for it they'll bring you a cow ask any French chef ‍ butter makes everything taste 10X better just work it off the next day it's well worth it ‍As a huge restaurant "guru" mostly front of the house for 42 yearsI have to say well done five stars all the way FYI I don't rate restaurants highly oftenI have super high caliber and excellents and as a Persian HARD or impossible to please Of curse I'm retired after 42+ yearsBut if I wanted to open a restaurantThis is exactly how I would do itThe name of the restaurant baran means rain and apparently it had rained on their weddingSo they've named their daughter and the restaurant Baran AKA rain I also think it's a B E A U T I F U L name both on a girl and restaurant "RAIN" Baran I'm sure one day you'll walk in and meet doctor Baran in front of the house greeting you "I would love to see that" one day Strong possibility the owners are from the north AKA "shomall"By the Caspian Sea IT RAINS ALLOT 8 days a week It's also incredibly beautifulAccording to google 4th most beautiful beachside community "on earth" but it also rains allotKind of like Oregon and London Anyway back to the restaurantAwesome food just remember to ad butter ask and you shall receive butter makes any food delicious It's also my emotional support substance so yes I'm biased just add it to your rice and kabobsHospitality is in ALL Iranians/Persians DNAI'm extremely proud of this Iranians love to dance almost as much as Brazilians "almost" you have NEVER seen so many "middle aged fake blondes in a black dresses with a Gucci oversized handbag in your life" unless you've been to Iran Thanks to a singer named Googoosh AKA Iranian lady Gaga in 70s our version of Madonna The "original blonde ambition" "So fake blond wannabe haven"The live band is a bit loud very much like our character&personality loudSo if you like to talk or..... just ask for a table away from the stageThey also have a beautiful patio with heaters running water and cascading waterfall and fresh air and it's fully sound proof They are open till 10PM Do notttt think you can just walk in and get a table ""I can NOT stress this enough""You'd be lucky if you can get a seat on a barstoolI saw half a dozen people walking in and going to the barMost Persians IF not all don't like to seat in the bar FYI the patio is very nice and cozy, romantic and quiet I saw a few walkins just had to leave "so make a reservations"I ordered a few dishes to goThat's how good the food wasAs a chef I cook at home and love to cook so ordering food to go is unheard of for me And please don't get me started on the pastry and the desserts OMG If you're diabetic just don't look it's Craig Craig crazy awesome "I would like to know the owners Food&BEV background"So yeah it's that good Good luck Don't forget to call and make reservations the only recommendations I have is for the owner is to "EXPAND" or open multiple locations preferably one Near the ocean I'm sure his working on it I'm NOT a big fan of taking pictures of the dishes so I'm not posting any pictures of the plates here Mostly BCZ it's the ultimate nerdy thing to do But the website is full of pictures I've tried to make this recommendation as accurate as possible "no exaggeration" I'm that impressed I can NOT stress the reservations more Even on the weekdays Tuesday and Wednesdays Good luck and NooshJoon

I can't say enough good things about this place! We walked in with a big group of 10 people without a reservation, and despite how incredibly busy they were, they still went out of their way to accommodate us. The staff was super attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed.Even with the rush, service was fast and efficient, and the food was absolutely delicious. you can tell they really care about quality. I've been to a lot of restaurants where big groups get overlooked, but that was definitely not the case here.I'm honestly surprised to see any negative reviews because our experience was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming atmosphere! Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely garbage! From a Persian, who lives and breaths Persian food - this place is a disgrace to our heritage. I can't believe this place has 4.5 stars. The rice - staleChicken - dry and flavorless Ghirmeh sabzi - do we even call it that?! I just hope I don't get food poisoning.I'll never ever ever order from this place again!

Stopped in to treat myself to a solo dinner and despite having no reservation and them being booked, the staff was so friendly and accommodating and allowed me to Dine at the bar. Even though I was happy to be seated quickly, it did feel like they forgot to check in on us bar patrons for a bit but I know they were gearing up for an influx of reservations so I get it. Beautiful interior, great atmosphere. The bar was gorgeous and they had holiday movies playing for a lovely vibe. Food was pretty good. I started with samosas which were very flavorful but felt a bit too salty. Then finished up with filet mignon shish kabob cooked to perfection. I did feel like the plate was a little bit unbalanced and would have loved to see a smaller portion of rice with salad as I usually do with mediterranian plates, but still good plate for the price. Also felt like it could've used a side of hummus or tzaziki, especially since the complimentary bread was boring with just butter, so I ordered hummus but it was such a large side I wasted half of it and felt pretty bad about it. Also had a pretty good pomegranate cocktail. So even though the steak was melt in your mouth delicious I don't think the overall experience was 5 stars but I do recommend giving this place a try.

Everything about this place is reason to go. So go. Order a pitcher of their homemade cucumber water and let that be the start of your culinary adventure.

I made reservations for dinner before a show on a Saturday night for a table for two. We were seated about 15 minutes past our reservation time as it appeared that there was a large group. It just so happened. They also had live music as well. It did take the server a while to attend to us after being seated, but after we placed our order things went pretty quickly. We tried their samosas as an appetizer, which was decent. I feel like there was seasoning lacking. We shared a Baran baron special salad which was pretty delicious, but had too much dressing especially too much lemon in it. I would recommend that you get the dressing on the side. It was pretty much all at the bottom of our bowl. We also shared a chicken shish kabob plate with rice. The chicken was very juicy but overall again it seemed like there was a lack of seasoning or flavor. Our server was patient with us considering we had never been here before. Overall, it was a good first time here but it didn't stick out as a place I would return to.

My 1st time dining here for my friend's bday dinner Friday 10.04.24Made reservation over the phone.Associate was really friendly and informative.Restaurant was filled on a Friday night.We ordered entrees and all shared it like family style. Server was nice to put it like a family style platter for all of us to share. Food was good for Mediterranean especially the rack of lambs, filet mignon barg & beef koobideh were all tender & very flavorful. It's a beautiful elegant restaurant with modern and very chic vibes. Crystal chandeliers.FYI Corkage fee is $ 15 for a 750 ML bottle of wine ONLY. No 1 Liter allowed per associate while making the reservation.They offer complimentary bday dessert. It's a Mediterranean Sweet Dessert. On Friday & Saturday. They offer live entertainment.They also offer weekdays lunch buffet special. Would love to check it out and visit during lunch for their buffet. Located in "THE PROMENADE" In Anaheim.Same plaza as Jersey mikes, California fish grill, Starbucks, Golden spoon and a lot of other Business in the complex .It's located in the back and a bit hidden. More towards the railroad tracks.Lots of parking available. TIP- YELP CK IN offer, free cold appetizer.

High solid reviews? cant go wrong right? Nope, they served me a burnt kancerbab (Filet Mignon Shish Kabob $33) so far beyond well done, its like if you went on a blind date and your date had put on the darkest solidest lipstick in existence, i definitely noticed yes i would eyes up top oh yes got it sorry yep. If this were my restaurant, i wouldve been ashamed to serve such cinders, that wouldve never made it out the kitchen, but here i guess this is the quality they serve. Very sad cuz i was looking forward to the onions but charcoal doesnt taste great. Otherwise the rice with the meat was good, the veggies i just had to cut out the center parts that were unburnt, made a whole pile of burnt pieces, rather annoying. Waitstaff checked on us a few times, they had to have seen that pile of blackest ends but im not ruining my moms birthday cuz i got a burnt kebab, and id have to wait while the rest of the family finishes their meal? no sir, just smile and shove it in. the table bread was like tortilla thin & shaped but almost naan kinda texture, served with cold butter? but hard to spread and eat like normal breads. i suspect....its to use for scooping up your entree/rice? cuz thats what i did, ripped a strip, rolled up rice and meat together, and voila the combogasm. oh also, i took the butter and buried it into the rice prior, think that really amplified it.its a very spacious restaurant, very clean lights, many unfilled seats on a saturday night, maybe like 4-6 other families. its in the deep corner past where $5 ticket century theater used to be thats apparently bought by tesla for i have no idea what they need a movie theater sized building for, maybe theyll build electric go karts and its a mini race track inside. oh also i guess Knowlwood finally fell, theyre building some fancy smancy italian looking place there now. So just drive past all those things towards the deep corner and ta da youve arrived. Gluck folks but i wouldnt come back. the audacity to send out such a burnt kebab? i remember this ramen place i had kaarage on the way, the ramen came out first, and the chef leaned over the counter to bow & apologize! uh what? oh they overcooked the kaarage so theyre remaking it, pffft lolol never have i ever! But here? burnt kebab? nah send it out its perfectly crisped.TLDR - burnt to charcoal food should never make it out of the kitchen. Unbelievable.

I've ordered catering from here and visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening. If you're looking for authentic Mediterranean- this is your spot. It's on the pricier end, but the flavor is always spot on. Upon arriving on Saturday (6:30 reservation), we were greeted and seated right away. The service was on the slow end toward the end of our service and felt like we were forgotten about a bit having to flag down our waitress or any help a few times. There is live music that was lovely and very fun, but keep that in mind when making a reservation as it can be very loud depending on where you are seating. Overall, great experience!

Baran Restaurant delivers exceptional quality food--hands down, one of the best! I had their catering for my birthday party, and every guest absolutely loved the food. Navid was amazing--super helpful in selecting the best options, incredibly friendly, and made the whole process seamless.A huge thank you to Navid and Elnaz for making my party so special. I highly recommend Baran Restaurant for both dining and catering--you won't be disappointed!
