GET YOUR SILVANAS HERE!What is a silvana (aka sylvana or sylvanna) you ask? It's a Filipino frozen cookie made of buttercream sandwiched between two meringue wafers coated with cookie and/or nut crumbs. The ratio of the wafers to the buttercream is downright sinful. Make sure you eat frozen or as close to frozen as possible! I was gifted a box of 12 that contains cashew (cream colored), pistachio (light green colored) and cookies and cream (dark chocolate colored), and all three are amazing, you can't go wrong with any of them!

Loved their pastries, its just that i wasn't able to try it. Came in at 1-ish and it was already sold out! Wish they had chairs outside just to sit and enjoy the desserts. Got to try their mini cakes and it was good - light, chocolately, gooey.... yum!Need to pre-order.

Ok. Take my money. Sansrival & silvanas are huge with my family. Despite how laborious the process is, we usually make our own since the chain bakeries just never make it as good. I've been so intrigued ever since I saw these on IG. So when I found myself in the area, I had to make a pit stop. I came a little late, their pastry case was basically sold out of almost everything. So I got what I could. A dozen cookies & cream silvanas, a few of the Zion cakes & BZ cakes, and an entire macadamia sansrival. About an hour drive home & it stayed chilled and intact in an insulated cooler bag.Got home to divvy it up among family members... and after tasting the silvanas, the sansrival, & the Zion cake, I instantly regretted my decision to share. Lol! This tastes exactly like the ones our family makes. The buttercream is so flavorful but not overly sweet. The meringue stayed crunchy, the layers were perfect on the sansrival, they don't skimp on the buttercream and the nuts & the silvanas had the perfect crunchy / chewy combo. SO. SO. GOOD. I'm also a huge fan of the Zion cake! Safe to say, I don't think I'm ever baking these again. I just have to make sure to preorder before heading here. Worth every penny & calorie! Huge huge fan of their baked goods.

Yay! So happy to have found this place. I visited my Mom at Forest Lawn in Cypress and was craving the ube bibingkinitan at Tony's BBQ in Artesia. Across the street is Bakes and Pastes which I had bookmarked last time I was in the area, and I decided to stop by and check it out today. So glad I did. I ordered the solo Ube cake and the solo BZ cake to try. Beautifully packaged when presented to me in a cute little box, and was hoping that it tastes as good as it looks. Well, it didn't disappoint. First of all, I loved that the cakes were freshly baked. * BZ cake has a moist, decadent chocolate cake topped with their signature dark chocolate sauce 5/5. * Ube cake uses the same moist chocolate cake but topped with their signature ube sauce 5/5. Pricing - solo cake for $5 and whole cake 8x8 for $26, absolutely worth the price for the high quality. Go check 'em out!

So happy to have found a bakery that sells silvanas and sansrival. It's so hard to find a place that makes good silvanas. The cashew and pistachio silvanas are my favorite they're so light, crunchy and addicting. I can eat the whole box to myself. I also tried their Dubai chocolate it was also yummy. I cannot wait to try their pistachio sansrival. I drive about an hour just to satisfy my cravings and it's worth it lol.

My most favorite dessert in the world is Sans Rival so imagine my surprise and sheer delight when I found out this bakery shop had opened just a few miles from my home. I only bought a box of the pistachio and cashew Silvanas today because we had a very busy day driving around. They were awesomely scrumptious, truly like heavenly snacks. We'll be going back soon for the Sans Rival. I just read their story on their website, good for them and I wish the owners much success.

Bake and Paste, is a small filipino bakery that opened last November. They made excellent use of their space with a modern, simplistic, and impeccably clean interior. The inviting aroma is the first thing you notice upon entering, setting the perfect ambiance for a delightful experience. The staff are incredibly nice and friendly, enhancing the overall welcoming atmosphere. As a big fan of Sans Rival, I was excited to discover that they offer Sans Rival cookies in three unique flavors: Cashew, Pistachio, and Cookies and Cream. I purchased a dozen for $27, with four of each flavor, and was thoroughly impressed. The pistachio variety stood out as my favorite, featuring delightful layers of buttercream and meringue that perfectly complemented the nutty flavor.I received a complimentary Ube cake with my purchase. For those who prefer more flexibility, Bake and Paste offers the option to buy cookies À la cart. They also sell cakes and other goodies. I highly recommend visiting and supporting this charming bakery. Bake and Paste is a gem worth discovering!

Bakes and Pastes, a new Filipino cake & pastry shop, recently opened in Artesia, and my sweet tooth had to be assuaged before chaos & bedlam ensued.https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=N0QS8YDxhyZ7jIgqmyYv0A&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RABZ cake-https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=pcU2kAa5jUq-nNbhvPLOGA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA BZ cake is Bakes and Pastes' signature cake, so I had to have an individual cake for myself. Dark chocolate cake topped with their Signature chocolate sauce, Bakes and Pastes' BZ cake was very moist upon each bite. Simply adorned, without fancy embellishments, the BZ cake was perfectly sweet, without being cloyingly so.https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select_video=6fFV00vZPH2wI5BfzSIk0Q&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Service was good. Bakes and Pastes is a pickup only shop, without indoor/outdoor seating. The shop is located on the right of The India Restaurant, with a shared parking lot & street parking available. I was a happy customer after leaving Bakes and Pastes. Their BZ cake worked it's magic on my senses, and I'm eagerly awaiting trying their Sans Rival & Silvana (individual Sans Rival) cakes, next time.Highly recommend!

I initially found out about this Filipino bakery on Instagram and it might be my newest hyper fixation. Bakes and Pastes offers unique specialty desserts that are just the right amount of sweetness and decadence in my opinion. I was really curious about their Silvana cookies which per google are frozen cookies consisting of a layer of buttercream sandwiched between two cashew-meringue wafers coated with cookie crumbs. The cookies are light and fresh almost like biting into a fresh KitKat if you know what I mean. I also took home a solo portion of their BZ cake which was incredibly decadent and the perfect size to share with a partner or indulge on your own. I visited closer to closing time so had very limited options to try but I can't wait to make a special trip back to try other flavors of their Silvanas, Cakes and Sans Rival.
