We came for lunch and were surprised Annapoorna was not busy at all today. There is usually a long line to get in.Food always fresh and delicious here. Especially the naan bread. Soft and chewy. I mix the tikka masala sauce with their tamarind sauce and some fresh chilies, and dip the bread in it. So good!Goat curry is good. But it would acquire taste. If you're not used to it, it could be gamy.I also like the chicken tikka masala as they use the white meat. But since it is chicken breast, meat is a bit dry but I don't mind. The other chicken curry is made with dark meat, so it not too dry,, if you would rather have the dark meat. Love the cauliflower dish. So yummy.Since they were not busy today, we had excellent service. Now, ventilation is not so great inside the restaurant and your clothes will have this lingering smell of Indian foods and spices for the rest of the day! ;)

This place was so good, so yummy, so adorably dainty with the cloth napkins and tablecloths! We came for the lunch buffet, and I was just a little bit nervous because of some bad reviews on Yelp, but I'm not sure why some people rated this place so low. The whole experience was really nice for a Friday lunchtime buffet. Everything was warm. They had all the favorite staples; the chicken tikka masala and cauliflower were very good. The tandoori chicken was a bit dry, but not to the point where I can't eat it. I ate it fine. They had plenty to choose from. The samosa was very good too. The mango pudding was good and so was the coconut milk rice dessert. I got two heaping portions of their salad that is dressed with a refreshingly light dressing of oil and apple cider or red wine vinegar (?) not sure, but it was tasty. I want to try the soup next time. The naan comes out to the table warm in a basket. The servers were very attentive. It's quiet. I would love to come back with close friends because you could catch up with them there because it's not that loud at all. Next door, there is Paris Baguette, Ralph's, CVS, Daiso, Mitsuwa, and several other eateries and restaurants. Lunch buffet was $17.99. I highly recommend!

Delicious Indian buffet with variety of options plus a great value ($15.95 per person for lunch buffet). Service was good as they quickly bring you the Naan and refill your water. Ambiance is casual, comfortable and cozy with ample seatings. Highly recommended!

I hate giving such bad reviews. But Annapoorna deserves this. So here it comes. The food is really disgusting. I went for the buffet with my non-Indian teammates are work and I was shocked at how bad Indian food can get in Southern OC. The Tandoori chicken tastes like the chicken was almost rotten when they baked it with some tandoori paste. And I doubt the paste as of good quality. The rice was stale. The chicken tikka was like eating carboard tofu. The halwa was nasty. The naan was old and gross and doughy. Even the choice of food is a dead giveaway that this is a money grad for people who are unfamiliar with Indian food. They have rubbery idly and bad sambar alongside tandoori chicken and tikka masala. I was surprised the water was drinkable. The service was ok. It's not like they did much as lunch is buffet. And dinning room is small and cramped with the waiters doing kitchen tasks in the middle of the dinning room.Just avoid this place if you want decent Indian food. Please. don't make my mistake of walking in here.

Due to the high ratings we decided to give this place a go. I will say the dosa dish, garlic naan, and aloo ghobi dish were good. The butter chicken and spinach dish (palak paneer) were sub-par. The chicken was dry and cut into strip like pieces. Usually the butter chicken is very soft and tender with pull away chicken so this was disappointing, since the chicken should be the star of this dish. The spinach dish was lacking flavor and missing the chunks of cottage cheese it usually has, there were very few pieces. The service from our main server felt a bit rushed, as if he did not want to be there himself. The two other servers that greeted us seemed kind. Ambiance was good, it was quiet as it was a Monday night with some light music to enjoy. I personally will not be coming back here due to the service and food quality.

Usually come here for dinner. Haven't been here in a while, came back for dinner this time. We got the lamb curry, chicken korma, masala dosa and chicken biryani. Great portions, ended taking the lamb curry home. Some of the best Indian food i have had, and i have had a lot of it, including some of the best Indian spots in the UK. Great food here and at a reasonable price, u like a lot of the other restaurants in Irvine. Service was very friendly and on the ball as well. Definitely need to remember to come back here.

I've only ever come here for the lunch buffet because I think it's the most worth it if you're looking to try a variety of Indian food. What's even better is that the buffet is open Monday thru Sunday from opening until 2:30pm.This place is located at the corner where Paris Baguette is. I'd recommend to just park towards the Ralphs because the spots near the restaurant are more limited.Lunch time can get busy, especially if you come on the weekends during peak hours. Inside is pretty tiny and doesn't house a lot of people. Buffet size is not huge, but enough for you to get a good variety of items. My favorites are definitely the goat curry and tikka masala. Their naan here is AMAZING!! By far my favorite naan ever. It always comes fresh and pipping hot. It's super soft on the inside and doughy. Perfect to dip with the tikka masala or anything really.Food here has never been bad. Flavors are always consistent and everything I've had tasted good. They have a few items for dessert as well but my favorite is the rice pudding. My friend loves the rice pudding combo with the galub jamun, but it's way too sweet for me to handle. But if you're a sweet tooth I'd recommend this combo.Pricing is very fair - especially for this day in age. It comes out to roughly $18 or so with tax? Recommend if you prefer a good variety!

Lunch buffet currently 17.85, amazing deal for California standards. Everything tasted great and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food because of the cheap price and it was a AYCE.Only complaint was the chicken in the chicken Tikka was slightly dry but the tandoori chicken made it up for it for being juicy and tender
