Second visit to Angel's Share. This time we brought out of town guests with us and had dinner (vs small bites) along with cocktails. Thursday thru Saturday they serve a 42 oz Tomahawk with sides. Four of us split the Tomahawk, added a second salad (for two) and of course their garlic Parmesan fries.Plenty of food. Sides were Brussels Sprouts (done perfectly) and Gouda Mac n Cheese. Both were delicious. The Tomahawk prepared to perfect doneness. It was served pre-sliced, very easy to.serve and eat! Caesar Salads were also excellent! Cocktails were excellent. We ordered Espresso Martinis and Old Fashions, including one that was smoked. Nice experience having a smoked drink served at your table!Service was excellent and our out of town guests were pleased with the food and experience!

We tried this place for the first time last night. I was a little nervous about not booking a separate dinner place, but figured we would have some drinks and share some small plates and we would be cool. First, the drinks were really good. There were many different options - they have some great mixed drink options as well as whiskey flights, and craft beers too.We got our drinks and ordered some wings, goat cheese appetizer, and a wedge salad. We thought it was odd that no one was eating, but we found out why. The food was way different than the pics on Yelp, and we were there Saturday night. It wasn't like we stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday when the "chef" wasn't there. I hate leaving bad reviews but the bourbon barrel wings were absolutely flavorless, the lettuce tasted mushy and old, the dressing was clearly bottled, and wait till you see the pic of the goat cheese balls. Just awful. We spent $130+ and had to hit Del taco on the way home. Next time we will go for drinks and book another spot for dinner.

Yay! My first review of the year The drinks were drinking and the food was fooding Came here for a celebration feast with two friends of mine The question is, what didn't we have?? The parking does suck, it is street parking in a busy part of town. But, I can't hold it against the place. Just beware if you can't walk far / aren't lucky enough to get an up close spot The menu really surprised me. They had a bit of everything. We ordered a couple things from the brunch menu Crab scramble with caviar Brunch burger Delicious garlic friesKorean smoked pork belly sandwich Fried buratta (sooo good and came with delicious pieces of grilled bread)Whiskey Cheesecake (Drink time now, some drinks were on their holiday menu) Churchills box- came with bubblegum cigars Angels clubAngels 75 Little toy soldierNaughty and nice Espresso martini Honestly, everything blew me away. We came at 1 pm on a Sunday and it wasn't crowded at all. With how good the food and drinks are I'm shocked there wasn't a huge line. (I did make a reservation though which was super easy)Our waitress, Erin said it's mostly busy at night and when people are watching the games ( they did have a few TVs going. Even though this place didn't give me a sports bar / place to watch the game vibe) I also liked the chandeliers and the color scheme And let me tell you, the bacon on the brunch burger was some of the best I've ever hadI'll 100000000 percent come back. Sign up for emails. I keep getting notifications for their specials of the day (such as happy hour and even karaoke nights) Since my first time eating here I've already came back again and my girlfriend who came with me has already been a repeat customer as well

Came here for Valentine's Day and was a last minute reservation. Service was somewhat slow but a given for a busy day. Drinks were ok for a whiskey bar. We ordered the clams and the fried burrata to start, these were good and tasty. Then we ordered the pork belly and steak sandwiches, these lacked in flavor.

Came here for lunch with some friends, and my experience was very lackluster. The service was ok, with our party needing to flag down the server a few times to refill empty glasses, but it's fine because it appears he was the only one working. I was very disappointed with the sandwich, as you can see there is barely any pork belly. The bottom piece of bread was also slightly soggy and limp. Overall I would not return, but my friends did have better tasting sandwiches so I would recommend something other than the pork belly one.

I have to love a come back story! Count on locals and women to save you when you run into trouble. Turns out the very people I had written about before were not very honest or invested in the businesses success. In the "loss" they brought back a local favorite and let two of their ladies shine making a very different environment. Even more shocking the chef (unfortunately male) is the kindest of them all acting as greater in his spare time. I can't give a five star until I try the food but I bet the owner will concur they are finally part of the community!!!

OMG I was so disappointed that, at least for now, Angel's Share has taken steak tartare off their menu. Quite honestly this is why I dragged two friends from DTLB. Having literally walked all that way, we opted to stay and I was glad we did. A few hiccups along the way still. This was my third visit to Angel's Share & the second time I requested a Vieux Carre, a rye-based whiskey drink from the Carousel Bar in New Orleans that I think of as a New Orleans Manhattan albeit I always request it to be made with Four Roses bourbon. Again, not surprisingly, our server was not familiar with the drink but I will say it came back delicious. It's much smoother than a regular Manhattan and less sweet than an Old Fashioned. I will also say that although I use large ice cubes at home, I think Angel's Share's cube a bit too large and I feel like I'm getting less of a drink. This may or may not be true. Just an impression.Without the steak tartare we went ahead and ordered the Roasted Cauliflower, Local Mushrooms, and six Angel Wings with orange sauce. A few minutes later the new chef Joshua Cicchetti appeared and apologized that they were out of the mushrooms, so we then ordered the Smoked Pork Belly Sandwich which I've had before. The Cauliflower was excellent. Firm and roasted and NOT falling apart. The Angel Wings were so-so. Not on my repeat list. But ah the Smoked Pork Belly Sandwich was excellent and Chef Joshua did us a deal by making 1.5 sandwiches for the 3 of us. Kudos. Now I will say that the cucumbers were not as zingy as the last time I had the sandwich but the sandwich was still delicious and the bread grilled to perfection. And OMG the FRIES WERE CRISP AND HOT. Now I know foodies might not get excited about hot fries, but I can't tell you how many times I've been disappointed by limp, cold fries. Cold fries are a sign that the food has been waiting to be delivered OR the fries were made a lot earlier and not warmed back up. Chef Joshua also treated us to a dessert experiment of non-bake cheesecake. It was interesting and we gave our comments. Not my thing but a good stab and we discussed the pros and cons of it. Although I was very disappointed about the steak tartare, I will say that restaurants typically have to shake out their menus to see what fits the local venue and that's what's happening here. Chef Joshua (Cicchetti) is certainly trying and hopes to bring steak frites and a tomahawk offering out soon and with that might be able to resurrect the steak tartare. Although he's leaning toward adding chicken parmesan to the menu, I'd encourage Italian homemade meatballs with a side of ricotta, a handful of arugula and some of that grilled sourdough bread. Service was, as before, very good. Hope the menu shakes out. I'll be back

My friend and I came here for Yelp LA's Treat O'Clock deal, and it did not disappoint! First, the service was amazing. The server was very knowledgeable about the drinks and had good recommendations. We also were checked in on often. Our drinks were very good. I can't remember the name of mine, but I asked for something not too sweet. My friend got the Good Intentions Old Fashioned and liked it. We ordered the pear, prosciutto, and burrata salad, which was DELICIOUS. It was both of our favorite. All of the flavors were well-balanced, and the added citrus was perfect. We also enjoyed the shoestring fries and a cured meat and cheese board. Our favorite by far was the pear, prosciutto, and burrata salad.

This quaint new bar is located on 2nd street, next door to the infamous Panama Joe's. Two completely different vibes. [AMBIANCE]: Angel's share offers a more intimate, luxurious vibe with its dark and gold tones vs its neighbor Panama Joe which is more casual and rowdy.[SERVICE]: Bartenders at Angel Share were super friendly and greeted us the minute we sat. They conversed with us the whole time we were there.[FOOD & DRINKS]: The menu could be on the pricy side but everything we ordered was really tasty. - Smooth Operator ($19). Being a whiskey bar, we had to try one of their old fashions. The sweet undertones from the blueberries blended with the whiskey well. This is one of the best old fashions I had in my life. - Angel's 75 ($15). Super light, refreshing cocktail with gin and lavender notes. This will keep you cool during this heat wave. - Crab Lump Melt ($22): Recommended by the staff, this sandwich suprisingly had hefty amounts of blue crab. Super buttery, toasty, and delicious. [CON]: Their bar chairs were uncomfortable to sit in. The cheap material mixed with the heat caused you to stick and sink in like quick sand. Maybe turn on the a/c up a notch to compensate?[OVERALL]: My fiance and I are glad we came. Everything was worth the price point. We want to try their whiskey tastings and happy hour next time.

My husband and I are big whiskey fans. We've been wanting to try Angels Share and finally made it last night. It was fabulous! We tried the Good Intentions and Smooth Operator old-fashioneds. The Smooth Operator was too sweet for us, but the Good Intentions has that great whiskey flavor. We opted to try several shareables for our dinner. They were all very good, but our favorite was the Fried Goat Cheese balls. The bread for dipping in the Fried Burrata was amazing and the wings had great flavor. Lily was a great server and had recommendations and personal favorites to help guide our first visit. I loved the decor - gold booths, black walls & chandeliers. It was fun and kitschy. We sat inside in a booth, so we could watch sports too!
