this is long overdue but my friend had been raving about this place for several years! i wanted to go to the one in lake forest but it closed, so when i came to westminster, i knew i had to swing by.let me preface by saying there are sooo many pho places in westminster area but pho akaushi is special because of the service and the owner, tom. he made sure to stop by every table and talked to me and my friends for a solid hour, talking about the business history and asking us how we were doing. i wanna say his passion for the restaurant made the food taste even better i ordered the pho akaushi combo small, and each slice of meat was deliciously tender and seasoned. the broth was very flavorful.

Food- 6/5 stars. The price of the pho may be $17 but every single cent is worth it. The amazing Wagyu beef quality makes a bone broth that is both rich and refreshing. The meat that comes with the amazing pho broth is basically a Wagyu steak cut in cubes, and really quality meat i wouldn't be surprised if it would cost $50 a plate at a steak restaurant. The fried rice with steak is also excellent ( only downside is you don't get as much quantity of meat) but it is the same quality of marbled soft delicious steak.Fried rice with shrimp is also soft, perfectly cooked- not overdone, not raw. It is very difficult to get this perfect texture. Service - Boss is a great guy. He had an unfortunate closure of other restaurant, but this one is excellent. Wish the squid/calamari could be put back on menu Ambiance- the Hi Chew refresher is nice exit gift. Nice umbrellas from the ceiling, quite excellent sauces on the table. Very spicy

*** Debit or Cash Only - NO CREDIT CARDS! ***Pho Akaushi is one of many eateries in Orange County that shares the same storefront with a different restaurant (more specifically OC 7 Seafood Restaurant). Initially I was confused because I only saw the "OC 7 Seafood" sign, but I noticed a wall post on Pho Akaushi and just walked into the restaurant asking about it. Our party was seated immediately and the staff gave us two different menus - one for OC 7 Seafood and one for Pho Akaushi.[Parking]: Small private parking lot, but the plaza isn't busy so finding a spot shouldn't be an issue.[Service]: Quick and efficient. No wait on Saturday at 6 PM.[Menu]: Very simple menu - 3 different appetizers (golden truffle fries, egg rolls, and calamari), 6 pho options with different toppings (small or large), and fried rice with shaken beef. Personally I recommend Pho Akaushi Combo as this order is more like a sampler on different cuts of Akaushi beef (rare steak, rib cubes, brisket). Thin or thick noodles options are available.***Egg Rolls (4 pieces - $7): Freshly fried egg rolls and had great fillings.Pho Akaushi Combo (thin noodle & small - $18): Absolutely amazing meat quality and some cuts of Akaushi beef tasted out of this world. I am talking about some godly quality beef. Broth also tasted refreshing too.***Simply a 5-star worthy pho and possibly one of the best phos I have had in Southern California.

Came here to try the akushi pho. The broth is okay. Some of the meat were good, specially the cubed brisket. Had fresh noodles and that was great and soft. Comes in a deep bowl, lots of noodles, but not enough meat to go with the noods. I also tried their blood clams grilled with oil/fat. It was fresh and good. A tiny diff taste than what I've had before. I think I usually have it grilled with a drizzle of prepared fish sauce (in Vietnam and in dallas). This one came plain with a green chili sauce that helped with flavors and made there. It was not that spicy. I normally get clams sautéed in tamarind sauce, but they didn't offer that here for the blood clams. They did offer it with other oc types, but I usually pick blood clams for their ease. Would I try this again? I'm not sure... I think there's many pho and oc places in this area so I would prob try some other places too.

I ordered the shaken beef fried rice and Wagyu pho noodles large size. The food was amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful and was not dry at all. The beef fried rice was so flavorful. They had plenty of pieces of carrot, onions, and peas. It was delicious. It's honestly hard to find a place that actually makes good fried rice so I was pleasantly surprised. I also enjoyed the pho broth! It was so flavorful as well. The pho complemented the fried rice perfectly. I would definitely order both of these again. It was so good. The staff were also super helpful when I was placing my order. I highly recommend this place! One of the best phos and fried rice I've hadNote-There was plenty of indoor seating. There is no outdoor seating.-They have plenty of parking spaces available.-They are open on Monday to Wednesday, Friday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM on Thursday they open at 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM-They accept cash only

I've found the holy broth! Place was empty on memorial weekend - surprisingly! The combo beef rib pho had the most beautiful CLEAR broth color, with natural beef fat oil on the top and a beautiful aroma. You know when you see the fat on top it's like mom's homemade pho that's been simmering and collecting all the natural beef flavors straight from the bones for an entire day!It was PHENOMENAL pho! The beef was so tender and had a natural fatty buttery flavor. Garnishments on point. When a pho place offers sawleaf I know they pay attention to detail! That's one of ways I do my forensics on pho pictures on Yelp. Check out the broth in my pics. Use that as a benchmark when reviewing pho restaurants on Yelp. You won't go wrong. Taste the broth first and you'll confirm that it needs NO additives such as hoisin. Use a tiny bit of lime in the broth (not too much as it neutralizes the beef broth) and you're good to go. Use sriracha and hoisen in a small dish to dip your meat and you can also squeeze some lime in there and add their chili oil. It was heaven! We had to split that one bowl for two professional eaters and had a hard time finishing it. Total food coma! Look for:Color and clarity. In person will include noticing the aroma.

This is the OG location for Pho Akaushi. It was a little tricky to find since it shares the same storefront as Oc 7 Seafood Restaurant. We came specifically for the pho akaushi combo. I only ordered the small size but it contained a pretty sizeable amount of tender Kobe-style premium American wagyu beef (rare steak, rib cubes, brisket). All the cuts of meat were flavorable and tender. I think the large size just had more noodles in it, which is what my friend ordered. I've heard great things about Chef Tom and his amazing personality and customer service, but he unfortunately wasn't at this location the evening we dined (Pho Akaushi has two locations: 9299 Bolsa and 14376 Brookhurst). The service was probably not up to the usual par by the people filling in. We didn't seem to mind once the food arrived as we were too busy devouring our bowls of pho.

Overall: 4.5/5 (dine in) Pho Akaushi has a storefront but a sign pointing to Oc 7 Seafood restaurant. Apparently the Oc 7 Seafood restaurant serves their food and Pho Akaushi's food so they have 2 menus. However, they didn't let us use the Yelp $5 off pho coupon since it's not the owner's location. I guess because they share location, that's why they crossed off the "Other Dishes" and "Beverage" sections. Large Pho Akaushi Combo With Banh Tuoi ($22): This comes with rare steak, tender rib cubes, well-done brisket, & meatball. The meats were good & a bit higher quality but not as tender as I would have liked it to be. The bowl doesn't seem like a large and more like of a medium size. The rice noodles were indeed fresh and good. The broth was clear and amazing - I drank it all!

Nice and clean pho place. Ordered squid, spring rolls, pho combo and truffle fries. Food came fast. Service was attentive. Loved pho, especially the soup base which was so light, but most of all their brisket meats which was super tasty! Never had that good meat in a pho! Squid was another thing super tasty here. Perfectly cooked! Definitely we will go there again. Recommend to anyone.
