Ok... so I really don't want to review... but here goes... My most favorite sushi place anywhere!! My favorite restaurant anywhere. If I had the choice.. I would only eat here!!! The poke nachos... all the rolls...yummy!!! But the Brussels sprouts... seriously!!! We fight over those darn things... we have to order multiple orders... they are that good!!! Don't come here... this is my place... seriously!!! I don't want to fight for a table or parking... please don't come here!!!

This spot is great. I have been wanting to try it for a while and was finally in the area so we decided to stop for lunch. The sushi was well made, didn't fall apart, and was very tasty. The service was also great. We were greeted right away by the sweet hostess who sat us right away. Our server was also very nice and we received quick service. They had good music playing, TVs on and it was a pretty large indoor area. I'd love to come back for dinner and the all-you-can-eat deal. The only thing I didn't enjoy was on one TV they had videos of people from TikTok doing the 100-piece challenge. Which is them just stuffing their faces (100 pieces within an hour). At one point a video showed a woman scooping the sushi with her bare hand into her mouth. I could pass on watching that while eating.

So for this review I'm gonna sort of bullet point some things. Because in all honesty, I'm such a loyalist to Sake 2 Me that it's hard not to compare. They have a really great opportunity to keep things a bit different from one another but really highlighting and maybe having identical great things at each establishment. So first and foremost the staff, These individuals were nothing shy of awesome. They were on it! I love how you can fire off orders without worry of "rounds" and how quickly the items are brought to the table. I do think the flow of the restaurant could be better, but appears to work for them. Now the comparisons. The Wasabi at Same 2 me is wayy better (stronger) not sure why the same Company wouldn't use some similar supplies but we noticed it was different. We asked for hotter or more concentrated and they offered a fresh Wasabi option, but for a $2.99 charge. That was weird and really should not be a charged condiment when having sushi. But we said ok. Cuz it needed it. Next the seared salmon. While this dish is really delicious. It's really rich. Also,I noticed as I ordered in several rounds, it's inconsistent on preparation and sometimes it's served with so much mayo on top it's almost not edible. Why they wouldn't also include the peppered salmon they have at Sake 2 me to this menu has me perplexed. That is a win win item. My thoughts are you should add the peppered salmon option (many people can't or don't do mayo) Also, the rice kept falling away from the nigiri and making it difficult to eat. Also on the existing recipe maybe have a consistent serve of the dish. The last order i placed had soooooo much mayo added i had to scrape it off and it almost made me not able to eat it. The lack of blue fin from this menu. Not sure again, how same ownership wouldn't have similar supplies but blue fin not available at all, not even in pre-set portion caps is bizarre. So if you come here, you don't have a blue fin option. Again, I know they are different. But if u have a supplier and you can only make this location better by the example of your other business, why not? Also curious is why this one doesn't have any light beer options. I usually get an Kirin light but since they didn't have that,I went with the Ichiban. It was really good. Just another curious difference from a business owned by the same owners. The mussels.....while good. Are still stuck to the shell not loosened for easy eating which to me is not ok. You have customer wrestling with eating their baked mussels since it's not loosened and to be honest, sake to me mussels recipe is WAYYYY better. Not only is it delicious but easy to eat at sake 2 me, for the life of me, I don't know why they just don't duplicate the exact recipe here. But again, my biggest disappointment is the lack of proper serving of the mussels and keeping them attached is not how it's supposed to be served. But if I were to rate this place it's 100% for the service. This staff is constantly serving and tending to the guests. They are polite and accommodating and makes it worth coming. I will say the iPad could be updated to allow Manuel edits. Like light or no mayo etc. Lastly, and almost impossible to fix with the flow of the restaurant, but the constant line for the bathroom which is right behind guests dining at the bar is a little tacky and you can't help to always check behind you because there is always someone there as they stand in line for the bathroom. =)I will try this place again, but hands down sake 2 me continues to have our loyalty. I think if you take some best practice examples from one and use at the other, you will have 2 booming businesses. The music is great. Staff is great, food is fresh, beer is cold, enjoy a nice date night or sushi fix night here, u won't be disappointed.

Came here on a Monday night with a party of 3 and ordered the ayce menu with sashimi and were immediately seated without wait. Given that it wasn't too busy, ambiance was pretty quiet.Unfortunately, I was not particularly impressed with the service or quality of the fish, especially for the price. As we were seated, we ordered all the limited items on the menu to start with along with some other individual sashimi. However, we waited at least 20-30 minutes for those orders to arrive. We checked on the status of the order a few times and we were told that they were trying to send out everything at once, which we found odd because we made smaller orders while waiting and got those quite quickly. I did like the limited items once I got a chance to try them, but the other items on the menu - like the salmon sashimi and carpaccio - felt unremarkable to me at best. Overall, I had a pretty mediocre experience and would probably not return given the other choices in the area.

I was so excited to see an advertisement on social media for Aburi as they closed the one nearest me on Lakewood Blvd and Willow St in LB and the loc in Artesia (never been to that one). The LB location is now Aikin but not as good as it's predecessor (Aburi).Ordering process is much simpler as everything is on a tablet and you have a 1.5 hr time limit and can order as much as you'd like (possible charge for leftovers).Sushi and apps were good but not top notch like the LB location prior to covid. Service was also lacking some, but still a good value.

As usual, a good deal requires a long wait. My group of 4 people came through on a weekend dinner, the wait was about 1.5 hours long. During the month of November, they had some deal where the dinner price was just 30 something and change per person for the regular AYCE menu, but you can still get an order of their carpaccio dishes. Premium price can do AYCE on those and sashimi and uni. Ordering was quite easy, everything was done on the iPad, you have a regular menu to refer back to what the rolls stood for. They also have some appetizers like edamame, brussels sprouts, takoyaki. Their grilled eggplant is quite delish. If you aren't a fan of fancy rolls, their basic items are good enough, they have all the basic nigiri that can also be rolled into a handroll (tube shaped not cone shaped, if you just wanna look more savage, otherwise they just cut it into 4 pieces for you). To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of their specialty rolls, I find them often drenched in sauce. Be sure to order anything hamachi, it's great, especially their carpaccio.
