I've had people tell me this is their favorite shawarma in all Orange County, so I had to give it a try. It exceeded expectations in some ways, but not all.In terms of the shawarma itself, I thought the shawarma was fine, but there are several other places in Anaheim I prefer. I had both the chicken and the beef shawarma sandwiches at Abu Omar, and neither quite blew me away. The sandwiches are much saucier than my ideal shawarma. The sandwiches are longer and narrower than a typical shawarma; they over-rely on sauce for flavor (in my opinion, at least); and the sandwiches don't really have much in the way of vegetables (my favorite shawarmas have parsley, pickled turnips, onions, and tomatoes, whereas I don't think the shawarmas here have any of these goodies). The shawarmas reminded me a lot of the shawarma at Rotana Elsham -- if you google it, you'll see a lot of people call the shawarma at Rotana Elsham (a food truck in Santa Ana) their favorite shawarma. So, I recognize this is a style of shawarma many people love; it's just not my favorite style of shawarma. In other respects, this place was amazing. It's the cleanest and most organized casual shawarma place I've ever seen. And the packaging of the sandwiches is really cool. It feels like you're unwrapping a gift when you're opening your shawarma. I also love how open this place is about being halal. It's in the store's title, and it's all over the door before you even walk in. This is really important to me, and I loved how proud they are to be halal.Overall, I'm glad I checked this place out, and again, I know people who say this is their favorite shawarma spot, so it's worth a shot.

got the rice bowl, shawarma wrap, and falafels. The chicken shawarma in the rice bowl was pretty dry and they only added a tablespoon spoon of the white sauce so it was overall bland.Lamb Gyro shawarma wrap was pretty solid, little more on the salty side but also kind of a small portion for the price.Haven't had too many falafels but I can't say it's for me

No one answers phone and erratic opening hours. Plus always get message, "not taking orders at this time" WTHFood is wonderful as always. I told my wife how great the presentation and packing was for the wrap (that was the second reason that drew me there). So when I went back I was surprised that my sandwich wasn't placed in the nice hard pack. Hopefully next time.

Abu Omar Halal in Fullerton is a hidden gem! Tucked away in a cozy corner, this hole-in-the-wall eatery delivers top-notch shawarma that's truly exceptional. With a variety of meat options to choose from, every bite is a flavor explosion. While the space may be a bit snug, the generous portions and mouthwatering shawarmas served family-style more than make up for it. Plus, who can resist a whole ton of fries to accompany your meal? If you're craving delicious Middle Eastern fare, Abu Omar Halal is the place to be!

Got this to-go /delivery recently and it was SO good. Gyro over rice platter, but both pretty solid -- 5 if you ask me for the gyro-- 4 since rice platter was good but did not think the kabob meat was exceptionalLamb over chicken in my opinion, but that's preference and honestly both were so goodThis place was better than Naz's halal that we ordered a few days later on uber. Such a hidden gem - can't wait to order from here againCan't speak to the store because ordered delivery. It arrived super fast!

With pretty good reviews I had really wanted to try this place. Pretty disappointed. Garlic sauce was good. Besides that . Chicken was dry like leather. How can u serve this? Probably old chicken.

Don't ever order beef kofta or any bowls from them. It's tasteless and missing items. I called to ask and they clearly told me they don't put sauce in the bowls. I called to let them know they messed up and to change their description! Never ordering here again, even with an offer on Uber eats next time; thought I would try something new. Highly regret it. Check out my pictures and you will know why

We ordered the beef Shawarma and a side of falafel with spicy garlic dipping sauce. The falafel was hard rather than crisp. Not the best falafel we've had but not bad. The shawarma was tender and tasty. We'd come back for this for sure. Took away a star for service. The lady at the front wasn't friendly at all, not rude but not friendly. I mentioned it was our first time here and we were excited to try the food, to which she said,"ok." Then I asked what the Abu Omar Sauce was and she replied,"it's sauce." When I sat outside to wait for our food she made a comment that made my partner felt unwelcome as well. When we went in to return our trays we heard her speak to other customers in a welcoming tone and even if told them to let her know if they needed anything. Not sure what we did though. Either way, sandwich was great and we'll be back next time we're craving a shawarma.
