A Restaurant

I have desired to visit A Restaurant for YEARS; it was a friend name-dropping the place that put it back on my radar. Wow, I love the old-school elegance, not only in its luxurious furnishings and atmosphere, but with their classy, first rate service. We were fortunate to land a seat at the bar top where we were privileged to be greeted and (mainly) served by Derrick, whose suave presence and warm welcome immediately made me feel at ease and having so much fun -- even before drink in hand!Love the classy-and-intimate, dimly-lit bar atmosphere; the food (attractive-in-presentation and delicious in taste), including the warm sourdough bread (with stylish ramekin of butter!); the elegant cocktails; the locals feel; and the excellent, personable service (thank you, Derrick and Jackie!). I definitely want to return, back to the bar top... very soon!

I wasn't impressed by the service or the restaurant. I found the restaurant to be incredibly loud. My friend, I sat next to, could barely hear me over the noise. I don't recommend this restaurant to people without decent hearing. Our waiter was impatient and abrupt. We were in and out on a busy night in less than an hour. I would have liked to enjoy my nice evening out by having a more lingering experience, but our waiter had no time for that. My friend ordered the pot pie which she enjoyed. The presentation was impressive with the oversized pastry billowing over the dish. I ordered the 16-ounce rib eye. It was cooked perfectly but had more fat than meat. On the flip side, if you're looking for a hip, vibey place to hang out on a Friday night, their bar appears it would fill that need greatly. Parking is mostly Valet, which takes some patients too at their busy times.

The second you walk in, you will instantly be confident in your selection for dinner. The atmosphere is incredible!!! Everyone is having so much fun. I enjoy a dim lighting and i like sound at restaurants. This place is live!!! THey had on the Yankees playoff game too. I was worried i was underdressed but its a casual vibe for sure. The server was Lindsey. She was overly nice. She gave us great recommendations and i followed her advice. The bread was legendary! I also ordered the Caesar salad, it was easily the best salad i have had. They even had the anchovies on it!!! Now, i could have left right here right now and would have been overly pumped but of course, i had to pig out. So i ordered the Filet Mignon. It was insanely great!!! The garlic that comes with it is a must. It was cooked to perfection too. Such a fantastic meal. I highly recommend A's to anyone looking for a great meal at a stellar location. 5 out of 5 for sure. I could eat here daily!!!!

Little pricey but didn't mind paying since we had Excellent service and the food was delicious!

Not a fan of this place. Lots of showing off people. Not a good fit for me. Not going there again.

The steak was exceptional but the scallops got tiresome towards the end of the meal. The hamachi was fresh and delicious and the bread and butter complimented the meal perfectly. I highly recommend making a reservation because it can get really busy. People were waiting in line outside the door and getting turned away on Valentine's Day. The bar was also packed with people waiting behind for seats.

Dined in one of the booths across from the bar on 12/28 830pm. Love the ambiance. We waited a while before our server came to greet us. I feel like especially with the main walkway along these booths to the kitchen it's important for guests to be greeted as we see it as sitting there meanwhile several employees walk by. Finally someone came to give us water and we asked if we can get a drink order in and he said we have to wait for our server. The tartar and meatball appetizers were better than our entrees. I had the scallops and risotto entree which was underwhelming in flavor. Once the server came by service was good.

The food here is always top notch. Love the old school feel of the decor. Great crowd bar seats hard to come by but either way amazing food, service and overall atmosphere ... Can't wait to go back!

One of my very favorites time after time. Top notch service, excellent food and such a cool and relaxing vibe. The pot pie on Friday nights is delicious and the hottest food you will ever have! The steaks are perfect and the sides are amazing. Mac and cheese is super creamy and yummy. Asparagus is great as well. Always a fan of A Restaurant!

The food is decent. It does get overly crowded at times. But if you want to people watch catch a drink, meet new people it's not a bad spot.
