If there was ever a gastronomic voyage that left me singing and dancing in my seat, it was my recent escapade at Indus Progressive. This modern Indian haven is where flavor, creativity, and sheer culinary genius converge. Buckle up, dear reader, for a ride through a menu that redefines what it means to dine.We started with two delicious cocktails: one a refreshing mango delight, and the other a smoky goddess-like concoction whose name escapes me but whose flavors will be etched in my memory forever. These drinks set the stage for the culinary magic that followed.First up was the Kukuri Bhindi, my inaugural rendezvous with okra. It was crispy, light, and delicious, all at the same time - as if the okra had spent a luxurious spa day, emerging as a crispy wonder that instantly seduced my taste buds.Next, the Ketthai Tikki. This jackfruit marvel was nothing short of pure perfection. Crispy yet fluffy, it was like biting into a cloud that rained delightful jackfruit goodness. Each bite was a testament to the magic that happens when innovative minds meet traditional ingredients. Then came the Navabi Risotto, a dish so rich and decadent that it felt like winning the lottery in flavor form. The lentils were cooked to perfection, each spoonful a creamy, yet spicy, dreamlike experience that danced on my palate. The Masala Brisket was a masterpiece of culinary alchemy, cooked to juicy tenderness with every bite. The spicy barbecue sauce was a flavor bomb that exploded with every mouthful, leaving us in a state of carnivorous bliss. Both, Daal Indus, and the Nizaami Dum, were delicious, with flavors so harmoniously blended that it felt like a well-rehearsed symphony in my mouth. And let's not forget the Garlic Naan. This wasn't just the best naan I've ever tasted; it was a game-changer, the Michael Jordan of flatbreads, setting the standard for all future naan encounters.I'm already planning my return trip back!Bravo Indus Progressive, Bravo!

The synopsis of my review is basically: yes the food was good but the "ambiance" was so overwhelming it's not worth it to return for the food. It is LOUD. There appears to be nothing dampening the sound in the restaurant. We were sat at a 2-top next to the bar and had to shout to hear each other. Although there seemed to be a decent amount of space around us, because the table was so small there was really no "buffer;" everyone walking by felt like they were in our personal space. The location near the bar also caused people to congregate near us. It's not very fun to try and enjoy your food while people are literally standing over you. Honestly if they try to seat you at the 2 top near the bar? Refuse it. The amuse bouche they serve is panipuri. I know this because I googled it. I suspected the amuse was panipuri but wanted to confirm, as I had never had it before and I really enjoyed it. I asked our waitress. She had no idea. I kind of thought it was a cardinal rule that wait staff should know what they're putting on the table.I was super excited about this restaurant, but our experience was disappointing. It was so loud in there I could barely think and it was very distracting to have people standing around our table all the time. Sound dampening materials NEED to be installed here. I might go again if I was able to sit outside. Might.

Terrific new Indian restaurant in Highland Park. The owners and staff are very welcoming and the service is terrific. The food is fabulous and something we were missing on the north shore. Definitely worth adding into your rotation for dining out.

Indus is a gem of a place, nestled in the heart of Highland Park. Each dish is crafted with the best flavor and technique, showcasing bold spices and aromas. We tried some of the popular Indian dishes like the chicken biryani, palak paneer, daal, lamb shank. Everything was phenomenal. They have so many innovative and unique dishes on their menu that I can't wait to go back and try them all. A wide range of cocktails infused with Indian flavors took this experience to a whole different level.Indus is a must-visit spot for anyone craving an authentic and upscale Indian dining experience in the Northshore area. With its stunning ambiance, exceptional service, and exquisite cuisine, this restaurant is sure to leave you wanting more.

We had terrible service. Our waiter rarely came to our table. Food was very slow coming out of the kitchen. The manager/owner (?) literally came to every table but ours. We ordered naan and asked the waiter how many pieces were in the order. He said there were four, but what he should have said is that a normal piece of naan is cut into four small portions. The only dish that had flavor was the eggplant appetizer. Otherwise, the dishes were bland (and we ordered several dishes). The chicken tikka masala had tough chicken and there were very few pieces. We felt the same about the palak paneer- there were a few cheese triangles. Most of the sauces were runny. We have been eating Indian food for years and this was so disappointing in every way.

Absolutely innovative and interesting Indian food. Everything I ordered had an unexpected twist or spin, and flavors were spot on. Six of us dined together and had a terrific meal. The space is loud and energetic, so be warned if you are looking for a quiet place. But our group had a great time and enjoyed meeting the owners who putting a lot of effort into the place.

I had the pleasure of having dinner at Indus, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was welcoming, service impeccable, and the food unquestionably delicious. The menu offered a tantalizing array of dishes that truly captured the essence of Indian cuisine. From the aromatic biryanis to the perfectly spiced lamb burger (aka the OG Bhoomi Burger - my favorite), every bite was a culinary masterpiece. One standout is their collab with Azadi Beer - I tasted the Mango IPA, which paired beautifully with the menu. It's a must-try for beer enthusiasts looking for something unique this summer.A big congratulations to Ajit Kalra and Sukhu Kalra for their vision and dedication in bringing this restaurant to life in the heart of Highland Park!!
