This is a simple piece. It is just a mural of three yellow roses, painted on the side of the old Nellie's Corner Store, which is closed. It was painted by Jules Muck aka Muckrock, a California based graffiti artist with a lot of work spread across Indy.It is a basic mural that does not have any meaning that i know of and is primarily intended to beautify the declining neighborhood that it is in. It is definitely not my favorite mural of Muck. There is lots of free street parking available to for you to get out and check out the mural. However, it is not a very long stop and you probably could accomplish what you want to in the comfort of your vehicle. So, as I have mentioned, it is best to plan out stops at many of the other wonderful murals in the area to best maximize your time.

As part of a short tour through Indy (Aug '19), international muralist/artist Jules "MuckRock" Muck took time to visit the Old Southside to add a wall of color. On the west wall of the now closed Nellie's Corner Store, Muck transformed a blank wall into a bouquet of yellow roses on a black background that covers the entire length of the building. In an area of town that has been slow to ride the wave of revitalization, things are happening and this mural brings hope for a neighborhood that has a great location, but has been cut off from downtown by the interstate. Fun Fact: Across Palmer Street is one of the condos that was renovated by local television celebs "Two Chicks and a Hammer" who star on the HGTV series "Good Bones".Review #2878
