We had so much fun at yellow door ceramics. This is a great date night idea. We did the one night class. They do a thorough walk through of how to throw your clay and shape your pot. It was a lot of fun to learn and try to make pottery. At the end, you get to pick your glaze for your pieces.I would totally recommend trying this out!

WOW, what a cool place that's tucked away in a small neighborhood to let your pottery talents come alive. I had such an amazing time last night learning how to create pottery. This was my very first time doing this, and instructor Tracee Ellis was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!! She taught 8 of us, some first-timers, others had some experience, but she made getting messy a dream come true for me. I'm so glad my daughter in law gifted me this experience as a Christmas gift last year. The classes fill up super quick, but man, was this truly worth the wait!!!! Thank you, Yellow Door Ceramic Studio and Tracee Ellis, for an incredible way to end the work week and begin the weekend. #potteryrocks

Okay-yes, their door is yellow! You park out front of brick building and walk around side to the yellow door and knock or call. Someone saw us and let us in. I signed my group of friends for a private two hour class on a Saturday night. Our instructor, Christina, arrived shortly after. We got our container of water, sponge, tools, and clay. She gave us an overview of what the night would look like and started with about a twenty minute walk through. She was pretty soft spoken, so had to really lean in to hear her. Most important things to remember:Keep your clay wet. You want it to be glossy. Keep your elbows grounded-tucked in it on your knees is good. Your back will be sore from the improper posture you have to maintain for this to work. You might fail. It's okay. Try again! Wear something you don't mind getting clay all over because you will! It is messy and you will get "dirty". Christina let us know that she could help us along the way and not to worry if something didn't work. It's a hard class to take, not gonna lie. I have a newfound appreciation for all the pottery I admire at art fairs. It's also not easy for me to fail and it was okay in this setting because I was with great friends and we were all trying something new. We laughed and had a great time. I would recommend this 100% to anyone looking to get outside of their comfort zone!

I have nothing but good things to say about Yellow Door. I'll start with the space itself - so beautiful. Such fun branding that carries through the entire place, lots of wheels with plenty of space in between, string lights.. such a beautiful environment to be creative in.I took a single 2 hour class and it far exceeded my expectations (which were high to begin with). Sarah was an incredible teacher, giving 20ish minutes of instruction then letting everyone get hands on and try it. She walked around and made sure no one felt lost and gave really helpful tips. I was a very safe, non-intimidating environment for beginners. For only $45, you get great instruction from experienced teachers, up to three pots, two hours of time at the wheel, and you get to select your glaze. It's also BYOB, which is so fun. 10/10 recommend Yellow Door for a fun night out, corporate events, or if you're simply looking for a new creative outlet!

My husband got me a reoccurring class as a gift last year and I can't wait to do it again since my schedule has slowed down a little! If you're looking to stretch a creative muscle you haven't and learn something new, this is such a good way to activate a different part of your brain! As a slight perfectionist I just want to keep learning more. It's just such a process from start to finish, so many life lessons haha. I'd love to do this again with all their teachers since everyone learns and teaches differently.

Just the right amount of instructions to be successful with enough time to complete 3 small pieces. Tracee was a clear, engaging instructor and put us all at ease. Love being in this creative space.

Absolutely the BEST studio out there, and I've tried a few. Awesome instructors, wonderful setup and no hidden charges (like making you pay for clay and kiln tickets just to get YOUR work fired). You can even try 2 different clay's during one session. I'll be back!
