Wildwood Outdoor Escape

I love this place. My weekend retreat from the city. So clean, low key, and people are very friendly. The property is meticulously maintained which I love!! The owners are very nice and quite accommodating. Beautiful ponds for fishing. And the Indiana sunsets out here are unlike anything I have ever seen. Highly recommend for quiet time and relaxing. Dog friendly place also!!!

If your thinking about going to Wildwood Outdoor Escape in Hartford City do yourself a favor & don't! There is no swim beach like they have advertised online they have a SMALL in ground pool that is only open from 11am-4pm. Our kids got yelled at by the owners not once but twice for wrestling in the pool (away from other people) and throwing a football mind you we were right there so WTF. They forced the kids to stay in a super tiny section at the end of the pool.They also have an arcade room and put put that they advertised online but those are not open either. Wanna go fishing!? Good freaking luck with all the rules they have on where you can fish. If your using a debit or credit card your getting charged an additional 4% that they don't tell you that until after they swipe your card. Don't even think about putting up 1 tent on your Rv site that was an additional $21 a NIGHT!! They have a small park that the kids went to and once again got yelled at for touching a baby swing and got asked if they had $250 to replace it if they broke it. Kids apparently have to be at there own campsite at 10pm and apparently that is a super serious rule from what I herd from the seasonal campers. I tried to leave this review on their Facebook page but they denied it. I also tried to call and explain how awful they made our weekend and the owner hung up on me! I feel like we should get some type of refund. Had I of known that there was so many false advertised things to do and that they really didn't like kids we would of been more than happy to go somewhere else! Wildwood Outdoor Escape is by far the WORST campground to bring kids too and they should probably tell you all the above information over the phone before booking since they can't update the information online. I hope I save another family from a disappointing weekend. We will definitely never recommend or return

My family and friends have camped her several times . They have a fishing pond , swimming pond , arcade room with pool table , shuffle board and video games for the kiddos . They also have a band on Saturday nights , bingo for the adults which is super fun . They have hard ice cream , popcorn , soft pretzels and a few other goodies . Saturday mornings they serve homemade biscuits and gravy which I heard are fantastic . Some sites are gravel and some grass . The two ladies the run the place are super nice and helpful . I honestly would of given the place 5 stars if they had better graveled roads and maybe a pool would be nice . Overall it's a fun place to camp . It is also only about a 5 min or less drive from the grocery , Taco Bell , Pizza Hut and I think a CVS.

Customer service must be better. The owner has zero people skills. When we approach people in an aggressive manner and yell at campers at the pool for a minor error you will and are going to lose a lot of business. We need to learn how to speak to campers and customers in a friendly tone.

We have been seasonal campers for 3 years and couldn't ask for a better place to get away from our busy lives and relax. We have grandkids there frequently, and they do not lack for sething to do. Fishing, swimming, playing putt putt, basketball or video games, our 4 older ones are always busy. The campground is well kept, the older bathhouses are immaculately cleaned! We toured practically every campground in an hour radius, and couldn't find anything to compare to the safe, clean environment there.

The place is really pretty. While it has things for Kids to do it is not kid friendly. The swimming hole was not good. We didn't do that when we tried to play the games inside well Linda didn't like that. Didn't want the kids to be kids. We didn't stay the two nights. Not worth it

This was such a wonderful experience for my family, with the beautiful ponds, large grass fields and wooded area, there were so many options for picnics, morning walks, fishing, picnics and great way to get peace and quiet. The other people in the RV park were very friendly and the owners were dedicated to providing a great experience with a great customer service. My family was not able to travel much due to current concerns related to the pandemic and the owners provided a very safe environment while providing good times. My kids are already asking to go back.

We have camped seasonally at Wildwood Outdoor Escape. There is a level of safety and comfort that makes it a wonderful environment, especially for younger kids. The pool, being salt-water, is beautifully maintained and designed with steps and ledges perfect for a new swimmer or someone just wanting to chill on the edge. The ponds are beautiful with frogs and birds, making it a wonderful, peaceful, nature experience. The tent camping area in the woods provides shade or sun for a picnic or a nice walk. This campground is quiet and the owners work hard to provide a safe experience for everyone. With the drastic changes in the world this year, we have greatly appreciated Wildwood.

Wildwood recently hosted an event for our Unit and their families. It was the perfect venue for what we had in mind. The rental rate was very fair and the hospitality was great. I have attended a few events there this year and have always enjoyed it. I have yet to stay on the Campground, but have only heard good things. This is a great place to get away to even if you are from the area. Looking forward to getting back there next year for our Family Day festivities. Great staff. Great experience. Great Place!!
