This park is beautiful! It's well maintained and looks fun for older kids too. There plenty of seating everywhere and bathrooms located right next to it. There's a basketball court and volleyball nearby. Plenty of shelters to plan a bbq or just chill. We came here to this park for a program that was at the pavilion center and the center and it's surrounding area was nice too. There's even a splash park and trails nearby. If we ever drive 40 mins from the center of the city again I'd def come back here

This park is huge spanning over 160 acres. It is a very nice park that has tons of amenities and parking. It is a very well maintained park, especially considering its size. It is also home to the Avon HS Cross Country team. It the front they have a full basketball court that is pretty decent, a sand volleyball court, a gazebo, and 2 covered shelters that you can reserve. Each shelter has grills and picnic tables. There are also picnic tables scattered around the area, an open field that is well maintained, and a small lake. The lakes are rumored to be stocked, but I did not see anyone fishing. You will also find a very nice playground up there that has a jungle gym for small kids and one for bigger kids. The ground is covered with shredded tires. The playground also has a cargo net to climb, tire swings and regular swings.if you venture to the other part of the park in the back that is where you will find over 5 miles of paved trails, a splash pad, an outdoor fitness area, a reception hall, an small amphitheater, another lake with a fountain, 2 more covered shelters with picnic tables and grills, restroom facilities and another playground. The playground is very nice and is lined with a rubbery surface and has equipment including swings, monkey bars and other stuff that looked like it was purchased from Ikea. This is an awesome park and a great part of the Avon community. They have tons to do and can keep an entire family busy for hours. This place is very scenic and has some picturesque bridges and landscape. It is also home to the historic 1876 Whipple Iron Truss.

This park is so large and has so much to offer because of it. Coming in off the street you hit the main playground and parking areas with basketball court and volleyball. There is a bigger play structure and a smaller one, but even the bigger is suitable for younger ages. There is lots of grass and a covered picnic table area surrounding the playground. If you drive all the way to the back of the lot it will take you down a wooded path under the train bridge and back to the splash pad. The splash pad is nice with lots of tables and benches with umbrellas, unlike many others. There is also a bigger kid small playground right next to the splash pad with two covered picnic table areas with bathrooms (great for parties). There are also clearly marked trails, as well as many other made paths to get you to the creek to stomp and play. You can pretty much do anything you want here, great for families with all ages. The one downside is the summer camps play here and pretty much take over all parts of courts and playgrounds, avoid these times.

The Avon Park Ice Rink in Washington Township Park was a blast last night. We went to the Bumper Cars and Brew - 21 Plus Event. The tickets included one draft beer, 2 hrs. of Bumper Cars and a cupcake as we left. You could buy additional beers if wanted. Hubby had two Sun King Oktoberfest while I had Hot Chocolate and two chocolate chip cookies right from the oven.It was difficult at first to know where to check in but after walking around for a couple minutes it was clear. The lines were long for the Bumper Cars but it moved quickly. We had the opportunity to go several times throughout the night. The food truck, A Small Town Throw Down, folks were super friendly. They offered food and hot chocolate plus more.I posted the hours but I didn't see what days they have ice skating vs. Bumper Cars. You'll need to call. The ice rink is located on the basketball courts for those of you familiar with the park. Washington Township Park is a gorgeous park, beautiful scenery with many recreational opportunities. The park is 160 acres plus a preserved wooded area and a great deal of open green space. This park has so many remarkable amenities. There is a 24 foot Gazebo, two playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a splash pad, 4 covered picnic facilities, and an outdoor fitness station. If that's not enough to get your interest then how about a Paw Park with 3 separate fenced in areas for all size of dogs. 5 plus miles of trails and of course, the historic 1876 Whipple Iron Truss Bridge. The Pavilion Center, in the lower park, (435 Whipple Lane, Avon) is where the office is. The Pavilion Center is surrounded by green space, a wooded tree line, and a pond off the back covered patio. This beautiful building has exposed knotty pine beams, high peak ceilings, lot of natural light and a modern alternative to a park-like setting. The Pavilion can seat up to 300 guests and can be used for indoor weddings, conferences, family reunions, birthday parties and much more, Lots of activities for any ages. Washington Township Park can be a quite sanctuary or a space to be very active for all ages. Stop by this gorgeous park and find your favorite activity and don't forget the Bumper Cars.

The playground at this park is nice -- there are lots of different things to play on to keep kids of all ages occupied. Slides, swings, jungle gyms, fireman poles, towers, bridges, a net climber and more. The ground is covered with cut-up recycled tire mulch, so it's nice and soft when you land on it. The nice thing about the playground area, from a parent of young children's point of view, is that it's mostly surrounded by a wooden fence, so there's somewhat of a barrier if your child decides to dart off. There are restrooms a very short distance from the playground, and there is a hiking/walking path that runs along the park. Across the parking lot from the playground is a sand volleyball court, but my kids used it to build sandcastles (it was the off season when we visited and the volleyball net wasn't up). Honestly, my kids could have played in this sand pit the whole visit.FYI: This park is the location of the Avon Ice Rink during the holidays.

i am scared of bugs & animals. there's so much room to walk here depending on which trail you pick. lots of cyclists and people taking pictures in the water. i wish there was better and more signage up as this park is pretty big. nothing indicates how far you've distanced into woods or which path you're on. there's another walking trail (by the pictured buildings) but i do feel it's too many people in that area during covid and more chance to get hit by rollers. i would love it if they installed call buttons for safety as you can walk several miles here and you're in the middle of nowhere. i love how scenic it is bridges, natural brush, & creeks. dog friendly. just like being out anywhere if you're apart of a vulnerable group be careful going alone , late etc

I went last night on a double date and had a great time!! I am deducting one star because the rink is smaller than it appears in event photos and because in the Facebook events for drunk bumper cars they make it sound like you have to buy tickets ahead of time and you don't. We got tickets in advance and the other couple did not and we had the exact same experience. You get a free beer and a free cookie. We forgot to get our cookies. Oops! There were four different beers and baileys but you had to buy the coffee separately for the baileys and the person in our group that got it said the coffee wasn't good. Next year, I'd love to see a spiked cider or spiked hot cocoa option since it's cold out! All in all I had a great time and would likely make the trek out to Avon to do drunk bumper cars again.

This park is the ever ready bunny of parks on the west side: It keeps on going! I pulled in the park from US 36 at McClain Road and saw the dog park on the west side and the playground on the east. I thought it would take a few minutes to see all the park had, but was I surprised. There is a nice sized parking lot on each side of the entrance, so I chose the playground side and immediately noticed trails leading off into the woods along White Lick Creek. There was also a nice playground, a story walk where kids can read a book as they move along the park, a basketball court that is transformed into an ice rink during cold spells, and shelters. By one of the shelters is a large hill that can be used for sledding. And then I saw signs that made me realize I was only on the north side of the park. So, I hopped in my car and drove around to the other end. There, I found another playground, a splash park, a community center, and an amphitheater. There was also an exercise station along one of the trails. The park has a bit of something for just about everyone. Not all the parks are paved, so they can be challenging. The dog park is basic and doesn't have any special training equipment, but there is a shelter inside the park fencing that allows the humans the rest while the dogs romp.Overall, I look forward to returning to explore more of the hiking trails.Review #725

One of the best parks I've been to here in in Avon! Splash pad, jungle gym equipment and no mulch it's tire padding . Lots of tables with shade for large parties and umbrellas with chairs next to the splash area which is wonderful! Also there is a beautiful trail that goes along the small lake and then a really nice trail where you can get off and play in the creek. It was so nice I had to let my kids play and catch small frogs and let them go.

Park itself is great and has plenty of amenities. But if you're not a local who knows their hours then after 9PM you'd be stranded. If they have enough money to upkeep a nice park you think they'd have enough money for some more schedules around the park or even an option at the gates to dial in for assistance. Poor management in that aspect and main reason I would not recommend this park to any non-local resident.
