Wampler House Boutique Hotel

From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the genuine warmth and kindness of Zach and Donna. When we pulled into the parking lot, Zach met us at the car and greeted us by name. Once we stepped into the building, Zach and Donna made us feel right at home with hugs and friendly conversation. We had mentioned in our reservation we were celebrating a birthday and to our surprise, we found birthday decorations upon arrival. We were given a tour of the home and were impressed with the cleanliness, tasteful decor, and historic preservation touches. Our room was elegant and romantic with a large bathroom. During our stay we were served gourmet breakfast made by Zach, a retired professional chef, the quality was outstanding. Upon arrival, we were greeted so warmly even after I made a reservation error. Zack, the co-owner with Donna, his wife, took us on a guided tour of the house and grounds. Because they weren't full, we got to choose our room. The 8 rooms are outstanding, most have jacuzzi tubs. The pillow top mattress feels like you're floating on air. The attention to detail is exquisite! From the W stamped on the toilet paper, to customized meals served when you're ready! The balcony overlooks a serene treeline The room we stayed in had a southern exposure. The birds tweeting, the sunlight, what an amazingly peaceful wakeup! An evening sweet treat is served by Zack who was an executive chef and restaurateur before owning this historic B&B. We were surprised with wine glasses, a birthday card and sign after we returned from a show. The restaurant recommendation was spot on! The map provided by Donna, the co-owner took us directly to our location, with no need for GPS. As Zack says, "Their hospitality is a full contact sport." The cleanliness is impeccable! The fresh fruit cup at breakfast is a full meal within itself! And it's only the first course. This is exactly how enjoying a getaway should feel. I need 50+ points and that would only scratch the surface of the rave review I give Wampler and their gracious hosts Zack & Donna! I look forward to coming back soon!

This is my first bed and breakfast experience and was surprised how much I enjoyed the unique rooms and layout and the home-spun hospitality.Donna and Zach (sp?) were terrific hosts and offered me a personal tour of the Wampler House and lots of information on nearby events. Breakfast was outstanding and I enjoyed the camaraderie with other guests...quite a surprise given I'm a curmudgeon!Given I was new to the B&B experience, I made sure to respect the stated hours. Given B&B's and Guest houses are mainly family businesses, I realize that there was not a full-time reception desk or a concierge and needed to respect the hours posted on their web site. By contrast, hotels are operating around the clock, employing full time staff, with dedicated roles and functions.I'm now sold on the B&B experience!

Still our favorite place for a cozy, quiet retreat! We've been here four times, and it never disappoints. Zack & Donna are gracious hosts, and the food and conversation are wonderful!

I was headed to a winery in Bargersville, IN, coming from St. Louis, and made a reservation here. I am so glad I did. Marc was so accommodating (I arrived later in the evening) and very helpful with any questions I had. The room (Wampler Suite) was so nice and was THE CLEANEST room I have ever been in. You could eat off the bathroom floor. I was so impressed. The jacuzzi tub was HUGE! The room had a sitting area, a fireplace and my own porch. The bed was super comfortable and it was the 1st night I slept through the entire night in a long time. The rest of the house was historic and very well maintained and clean. Breakfast consisted of a yogurt parfait, individual ramekins of baked eggs with veggies and meat and coffee/juice. Very good and the service was spot on and friendly. I will be going back to Wampler House and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. You will not be disappointed and will gauge other B&B's by your experience here.

This is the first time I have stayed at a bed and breakfast and I highly recommend Wampler House. The home is beautiful, quiet and comfortable. Donna and Zach are wonderful hosts and the breakfast was fantastic. The Wampler House is probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed. If you are in need of accommodations in the Bloomington, Indiana area, this should be your first choice.Suzie D

The best and cleanest hotel or B&B ever! I love coming here. This is my third time! Donna and Zack are so welcoming and the food is first class and the amenities are too numerous to count but let me assure you - you will be amazed at the ease and luxury of your stay. You can't find a better deal for everything you get anywhere else.

Zachary and Donna were the best hosts imaginable at the Wampler House! The house was beautiful, immaculately clean, and so welcoming. We were treated to delicious homemade cookies as we were toured around and the breakfast in the morning was equally delicious. We can't wait to come back! Joanie and Ken L.

I have stayed here several times - it is very clean and very comfortable. The common areas are superb - and a great hot individually cooked breakfast each morning. All the rooms have private bathrooms, some with whirlpool baths. It even has a front porch swing where it is great to read and take phone calls. I highly recommend it.

Outstanding B&B south of Bloomington, IN. Nice room, great breakfast, lovely host and not very expensive.
